Chapter 62: Chapter 062: Fellow Daoist?
"Sun Zhuangjia, Tang Ming is my boyfriend, and I won’t allow you to talk about him like that. If there’s nothing else, you can leave now. I’ve already made it clear to you that I have a boyfriend and I don’t accept your pursuit,"
Su Xiaoxi said righteously.
"What kind of happiness can such a person bring you? Xiaoxi, you need to think carefully,"
Sun Zhuangjia said, his voice growing heavier.
"I’m well aware of my own affairs."
Su Xiaoxi huffed.
When Sun Zhuangjia stood up, Su Xiaoxi’s heart leapt with joy, thinking the man had finally decided to give up and leave, but contrary to her expectations, Sun Zhuangjia headed towards the direction of the restroom after rising.
"This is bad, he’s definitely going to trouble Tang Ming. With his strength, he could beat Tang Ming to death. Then all would be said and done, and this whole act would have been for nothing."
Su Xiaoxi felt extremely frustrated inside, but since they were heading to the men’s restroom, she couldn’t follow to warn them. She could only blame Tang Ming for choosing this moment to go to the toilet, now out of her sight and likely about to be severely handled by Sun Zhuangjia.
Inside the restroom, Tang Ming was washing his hands at the sink. When he looked up into the mirror, he suddenly noticed Sun Zhuangjia entering.
"I want you to leave Xiaoxi. State your terms,"
Sun Zhuangjia said in a condescending tone as he entered the restroom.
Tang Ming was a man of principle. Since he had agreed to put on an act for someone, of course he would do the full set and wouldn’t dream of quitting halfway, much less of being bribed to harm his employer. Such conduct was something he had carved deep into his heart back when he was still in North Africa, to never back down once committed, unless he fell in battle.
"No terms will work; you’ve got the wrong guy,"
Tang Ming said, shaking the water off his hands, about to leave the restroom.
But at that moment, Sun Zhuangjia blocked his way with an outstretched hand and growled coldly, "Don’t force me to make you drink a penalty cup if you won’t toast willingly."
"Heh, I’d really like to see just how strong your penalty cup is,"
Tang Ming said with a faint smile.
"Hmph, you’re asking for it,"
Sun Zhuangjia said resentfully, his chest narrow with anger. He had been infuriated earlier, and now that he had the chance, he wasn’t about to let Tang Ming off easily. With a swift move, he reached for Tang Ming’s shoulder.
Tang Ming’s body shook, his shoulders swaying to slip away from Sun Zhuangjia’s grasp continually.
A single failed attack sent Sun Zhuangjia into a fury. He lashed out with a palm strike aimed straight at Tang Ming’s chest—a blow full of powerful, terrifying force.
Tang Ming knew the danger and struck out with a punch, hitting squarely in the center of the palm. The colossal force of the impact sent both men staggering back several steps.
Tang Ming felt the domineering hand power of Sun Zhuangjia, who must have cultivated some martial arts technique, but Sun Zhuangjia felt even more astonished. At this moment, his palm felt a faint pain—an experience he hadn’t had in a long while.
This unimpressive-looking youngster had managed to send a shock through his palm with just one punch, and for Sun Zhuangjia, it was nothing short of humiliating.
"Is he also a fellow martial artist, or just someone with a bit more brute strength?"
Sun Zhuangjia wondered internally as he observed Tang Ming.
He didn’t consider that an ordinary person, if only possessing brute strength, could not punch so accurately or dodge so swiftly.
But at this moment, Sun Zhuangjia was too angry to think straight. The fact that he, renowned from a young age, had been pushed back by an unknown youth with a single punch—if word got out, it would be nothing but a massive disgrace and a laughingstock among his peers.
His hand power brewing, Sun Zhuangjia was about to execute his signature powerful technique, but at that moment, Su Xiaoxi’s voice came from outside:
"Tang Ming, what are you doing in the restroom for so long?"
Looking at Sun Zhuangjia, who seemed on the verge of exploding with rage, Tang Ming smiled and said, "Excuse me, my girlfriend is calling for me."
"Hmph,"
Sun Zhuangjia could only stop and then followed Tang Ming out of the bathroom.
Outside the bathroom, Su Xiaoxi saw Tang Ming come out with Sun Zhuangjia behind him and had a bad feeling.
"Tang Ming, you spent so long in the bathroom."
Su Xiaoxi reproached him, but actually, she was subtly warning Tang Ming to be careful of Sun Zhuangjia.
"I just ran into Mr. Sun inside. His urine stream was so weak it splattered all over the floor, and he nearly slipped in it. I went over to help him."
Tang Ming pointed at Sun Zhuangjia next to him and cautioned, "You should avoid wearing such shoes when you go out, they slip easily when wet. If you had fallen into the urinal, that would’ve been a real disaster."
"Heh heh."
Su Xiaoxi couldn’t help but burst into laughter upon hearing this.
Instantly furious, Sun Zhuangjia felt as if one Buddha had risen and a second was about to ascend. In front of Su Xiaoxi, however, he had to restrain his burning rage. That little brat was so mean, setting him up like this behind his back.
But before he had time to cool down, he felt his legs tremble and straight away fell head over heels,
"Thump"
landing squarely on his bottom.
"See, I kindly warned you, but you acted so disdainful. Now look what’s happened, not listening to Tang Ming’s advice, trouble has come right away!"
Tang Ming’s face bore a smile. If it hadn’t been for Sun Zhuangjia purposely attacking him in the bathroom, he would not have bothered targeting him. But now that it was out in the open, he surely couldn’t let him off easily.
Even though one shouldn’t easily use poison against a Martial Artist, just poking around on Sun Zhuangjia’s acupoints made his legs numb.
"Xiaoxi, are you hungry? Would you like to eat something?"
Sun Zhuangjia, looking disheveled, got up, ignored Tang Ming, and turned to Su Xiaoxi with a please-affectation. Internally, he marveled at what had just happened to him—he must have been so angry that he got dizzy and fell over!
"Ew."
Su Xiaoxi pinched her nose. Sun Zhuangjia’s behind was all wet from the fall, and now he was talking about eating something. Even though the water on the floor was from everyone washing their hands, it looked as though something dirty was on him, so she quickly waved her hands and said, "No thanks, I’ve lost my appetite."
"But..."
Sun Zhuangjia was about to continue with his concerned words.
"Enough, talking about eating food while standing at the entrance of a bathroom really is unique to you, Brother Sun. You have such unusual tastes. There’s cake over there; you should try it!"
Tang Ming pointed to a stall inside the restroom, left the remark, then casually slung his arm over Su Xiaoxi’s shoulders and walked back to their seats.
Su Xiaoxi felt uncomfortable, as after all, Tang Ming was a big guy, and it was her first time being casually touched on the shoulders by a guy as if they were a couple. She widened her eyes and gazed at Tang Ming.
"You have to play the part if you’re putting on an act; otherwise, how is the guy going to give up on you? I’m doing all this for your sake."
Tang Ming caught Su Xiaoxi’s look and explained.
Cake? That’s obviously poop, isn’t it?
It took him a moment to catch on to what Tang Ming meant. Sun Zhuangjia watched as the two of them left with such intimacy, clenched his fists in fury. Reluctantly, he followed them.
Once the three of them sat down again, Sun Zhuangjia began to ask,
"Xiaoxi, how long have you known Tang Ming? Does Uncle Su know?"
"We’ve known each other for a little over three months. As for my dad, he’s still unaware, but I think he’ll respect my decision."
Su Xiaoxi’s message was clear—this was her business and whom she liked was something her family wouldn’t oppose, so he needn’t interject himself unnecessarily.
