Chapter 467: Chapter 467: Going to Find Teacher Li

"Impossible,"

Li Xiaoli shook her head, "Those people were after you. If they knew Tang Ming was incapacitated, they’d definitely strike at you again, not go specifically after Tang Ming."

"So who could it be?"

Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli were both bewildered.

"Who were the kidnappers before? Could they be the ones who did it?"

Xia Wei’er didn’t know as much as Li Xiaoli and Liu Mengting, but she was aware that Tang Ming had been injured while rescuing them.

"Jack!" Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli exclaimed together.

"Who’s Jack?" Xia Wei’er looked at the two girls blankly.

"He’s the one who kidnapped us before and wanted to kill Tang Ming," Li Xiaoli explained quickly.

"His initial motive for capturing us was to get at Tang Ming. Even though I managed to turn him into a eunuch in the end, he escaped. Now we don’t know where he’s hiding. It seems he’s the most likely suspect," she added swiftly.

"Can you find this Jack?" Xia Wei’er asked anxiously.

"We don’t know Jack at all. Tang Ming mentioned Jack seemed to be Teacher Li Wenxuan’s admirer. It was when Tang Ming stepped in as Li Wenxuan’s shield that he made an enemy of Jack..."

Li Xiaoli stopped mid-sentence and turned suddenly to look at Liu Mengting.

"Li Wenxuan!" Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli shouted in unison.

"What does Teacher Li have to do with this?"

Xia Wei’er looked on, clueless, watching Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli getting increasingly frantic.

"Of course, it’s related. Tang Ming acted as Li Wenxuan’s shield, which is why he crossed Jack. Tang Ming didn’t know Jack before this, but since Jack was an admirer of Teacher Li Wenxuan, she must know what kind of person he is," Li Xiaoli analyzed excitedly.

"Perhaps Teacher Li knows where he is hiding, and if so, won’t we be able to find Tang Ming?" she added.

"Let’s go ask Teacher Li Wenxuan."

Liu Mengting quickly got up to dress, "Tang Ming got into trouble with Jack because of her, she should take some responsibility."

"After all, Teacher Li is a faculty member. Going there like this, as if we’re bearing down on her with accusations—might that be inappropriate?" Xia Wei’er asked nervously. The situation with Tang Ming had been a shock, and now that she had calmed down, she was apprehensive about confronting a teacher.

"We’re just asking about Tang Ming’s whereabouts, not settling scores. What’s wrong with that?" Li Xiaoli said carelessly as she pulled on her clothes and adjusted her chest assertively.

"If you don’t want to go, stay at my place and wait for my dad to come back. Xiaoli and I will go," Liu Meng suggested, now dressed.

"I’d better go with you. If we really find out where Tang Ming is, it’s best to act immediately," Xia Wei’er decided, eager at the prospect of finding Tang Ming.

Then the three girls set out together, with Li Xiaoli driving a red Mini toward the school. At this hour, Li Wenxuan should still be at work, not yet off duty.

Li Xiaoli zoomed to the school in the car, and upon arrival, the three headed straight for Li Wenxuan’s office.

Li Wenxuan, who had just finished teaching an English class, was resting in her office. Since Tang Ming’s abrupt farewell yesterday, she had been uneasy, making several mistakes during her lesson.

"Damn it, such a promising university prospect, why did he suddenly take a leave of absence?"

While sipping water and grumbling about school matters, Li Wenxuan’s thoughts were preoccupied with the memory of Tang Ming’s aristocratic demeanor when ordering food at the restaurant.

"Knock, knock, knock!" Just then, someone was knocking at the door.

"Come in!" Li Wenxuan put down her glass, her thoughts returning from her memories.

Right after, Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli walked in, with Xia Wei’er awkwardly following behind them.

"Where have you two been these past few days? Why did you take leave without any reason, missing several days of classes? Aren’t you worried about your grades?"

Seeing Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli, Li Wenxuan immediately scolded them with a stern face.

Hearing this, Liu Mengting moved her lips, but didn’t know how to start, looking at Li Xiaoli for help.

"Ah, Ms. Li, we have something to discuss with you; let’s not beat around the bush, alright?"

Li Xiaoli grinned and said directly.

"You have something to discuss with me? Shouldn’t you be seeking your homeroom teacher for matters like these?"

Li Wenxuan frowned, asking uncertainly, "Are you having problems with English?"

"We’re here because of Tang Ming," Liu Mengting quickly interjected, seeing that Li Xiaoli wasn’t explaining clearly.

"Tang Ming? What could I possibly have to do with Tang Ming?"

Li Wenxuan’s expression changed slightly as she quickly denied it. How could they know about my connection with Tang Ming? Did that guy say something before he left?

"Teacher, stop pretending, alright? Brother Tang Ming has already told us about him being your fake boyfriend."

Li Xiaoli rephrased her words, speaking very directly.

"That bastard!" Li Wenxuan cursed inwardly, saying awkwardly:

"So, you are so close to each other that you can talk about anything, huh?"

"Teacher, don’t worry, we won’t talk nonsense," Li Xiaoli assured, then asked,

"We came to ask if you know where a guy named Jack might be?"

"What do you want with Jack?"

Li Wenxuan grew concerned, well aware of the kind of person Jack was; he wasn’t someone to be trifled with.

"Tang Ming might have been abducted by Jack," Liu Mengting blurted out the worry, asking,

"We can only find Tang Ming by locating Jack."

"Tang Ming got abducted, how is that possible?" Li Wenxuan’s face turned pale as she shook her head, saying:

"He only met Jack once, and it was at a dinner with everyone. They had no grudges. Why would Jack abduct him?"

Could it be because of that watch? Li Wenxuan’s first thought was of the incident where Tang Ming had duped Jack with a fake watch.

"It’s not as simple as you put it," Liu Mengting sighed, looking at Li Wenxuan with some reproach, and said,

"You had Tang Ming act as your shield to avoid being harassed by Jack in the future. But Jack harboured a grudge against Tang Ming, and afterward, he sent men to teach Tang Ming a lesson, only to have his own men beaten up. In revenge, Jack had men kidnap me and Xiaoli..."

Liu Mengting recounted everything that had happened afterward in detail.

Hearing all this, Li Wenxuan’s eyes widened in disbelief:

"Is what you’re saying really true?"

Li Wenxuan had no idea about the troubles Jack had caused Tang Ming; she had thought that after that dinner, Tang Ming and Jack had not met again.
