My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 406 - 0406: Are You Begging Me?

Chapter 406: Chapter 0406: Are You Begging Me?

"Little brother!" Seeing Moli in such a state, Zhou Dafu didn’t want to be too harsh, so he waved his hand and called out:

"You deal with your private matters first, then we can talk about work. We will wait for you."

Zhou Dafu had been following Tang Ming for some time and had developed a protective nature, coupled with his own past similar experiences to those of Zhou Jian; therefore, on this occasion, Zhou Dafu decided to let Zhou Jian have his moment of triumph, just as Tang Ming had done for him back then.

"Master Zhao, now that you know the relationship between us, I’m curious about your plans. When are you going to marry her?"

Zhou Jian stopped laughing, gave a grateful look to Zhou Dafu, and then provocatively asked Zhao Shuyi.

"President Zhou must be joking, how could I possibly marry a woman like this? She was just a fling to me. I paid for her, she kept me company for some things; we are even. I assure you, from now on, I will absolutely have no further association with this woman!"

Hearing these words, Zhao Shuyi didn’t hesitate to discard Song Xue’er.

Are you kidding me? Compared to collaborating with the Zhou Family, Song Xue’er was worth absolutely nothing. Moreover, what Zhao Shuyi was worried about now was not whether he could cooperate with the Zhou Family but whether Zhou Jian would use his authority to target the Zhao Family.

This concern escalated to the safety of the Zhao Family; he was even less likely to harbor any grudge against Zhou Jian for Song Xue’er’s sake.

"Dear, what are you saying? What do you mean by that?"

Song Xue’er looked towards Zhao Shuyi with a pale face, her voice beginning to tremble.

"Don’t call me dear. We’re not that close. I paid for you, you slept with me; it was only a transaction. Do you really think I’m going to be responsible for you, to marry you?"

Zhao Shuyi looked at Song Xue’er with disgust, taking a step back to prevent her from getting closer to him.

"You bastard! You said yesterday you wanted to marry me, and now you’re going back on your word?"

Song Xue’er stared at Zhao Shu, pale-faced, as she shouted.

"I was joking. Did you take it seriously? I also said I would pluck the moon from the sky for you; would you believe that?"

Zhao Shuyi looked at Zhou Jian’s reaction while contemptuously curling his lip, subtly checking.

"Hahaha, Song Xue’er, is this what you call true love? Is this the good man who’s truly devoted to you?"

Zhou Jian laughed so hard that he teared up and said indifferently, "I told you before not to scorn the poor young; I didn’t expect retribution to come so quickly. It’s not that I’m unworthy of you anymore, but that you are unworthy of me."

"Zhou, I was wrong; I failed to see this guy’s true colors and was deceived by him. Can you give me another chance to start over?"

Seeing that Zhao Shuyi had completely abandoned her, Song Xue’er quickly turned to Zhou Jian with an imploring look, hoping to salvage this "relationship."

"Oh my, you are actually begging me? Didn’t you say if you ever begged me, you’d be a dog?" Zhou Jian laughed strangely and sneered:

"I think you are indeed a bitch raised by a dog. Get out, disappear from my sight immediately. I never want to see you again in my life. Seeing you just makes me sick."

"Now that’s satisfying!" Witnessing this, Zhou Dafu felt secretly exhilarated. There was a time when he had wanted, just like Zhou Jian, to cavalierly drive Moli out of his life. However, out of concern for the Zhou Family’s reputation, he couldn’t act as unreservedly as Zhou Jian was now doing, giving him a strong sense of vicarious thrill.

"I..." Thinking of her past humiliation of Zhou Jian, Song Xue’er was filled with immense regret, but even facing the lost chance of becoming a CEO’s wife or the Zhao Family’s Young Madam, she still felt reluctant to give up and immediately turned to Moli for help.

Moli, however, kept her eyes downcast and stayed silently beside Zhou Dafu.

A joke, she was barely hanging on herself; she had no time to care about Song Xue’er now!

Moli knew that the things she had done in the past were always a thorn in Zhou Dafu’s side. Every time he remembered them, he would find ways to reclaim his dignity from her. With today’s provocation by Song Xue’er, Moli anticipated that tonight, whips and candles would be in store again!

"What are you still lingering here for? We need to work, and you’re not welcome here."

Seeing Song Xue’er was sticking around and not leaving, Zhou Jian coldly called out, "Security, drag this woman out of here."

"I really realize my mistake. Please give me another chance; forgive me. I promise to love you well from now on, never again fickle-hearted!"

Song Xue’er cried out loudly and begged, but Zhou Jian was completely unmoved.

Thus, Song Xue’er was dragged out of the company by the security, and the office quieted down for a moment.

Zhao Shuyi stood in place, a picture of anxiety, unsure of what to do.

"Master Zhao, you are here to discuss a partnership with our company. I hope these incidents do not affect the cooperation between our two companies. Come, let’s talk about the specific details now."

After calming his emotions, Zhou Jian revealed a professional smile and warmly said to Master Zhao.

"I’m really sorry about today. If I had known earlier... I definitely wouldn’t have said those things to you."

Zhao Shuyi looked at Zhou Jian with a face full of remorse, wanting to explain his morning’s conduct of humiliating the latter at the school.

"Let’s not dwell on the past. In the end, everything originated from that woman. Now that she has gotten her just desserts, that’s enough!"

Zhou Jian smiled lightly, nonchalantly shaking his head as though he bore no grudge against Zhao Shuyi. Although internally harboring some resentment, he was aware of his role and wouldn’t become personally vindictive. Besides, this partnership was chosen by Zhou Dafu, so he didn’t show any hostility toward Zhao Shuyi.

"President Zhou has a magnanimous nature, and I greatly admire your broad-mindedness. I hope we can have a pleasant collaboration in the future."

Seeing that Zhou Jian really wasn’t looking for revenge, Zhao Shuyi heaved a long sigh of relief and sincerely expressed his gratitude.

Watching the scene unfold, Zhou Dafu and Li Xiangui both secretly commended; at least it proved that Zhou Jian was a person who differentiated between his public and private affairs. Having someone like him in charge of the company was most beneficial for its growth.

Because of the incident with Song Xue’er, Zhao Shuyi was somewhat humbled in front of Zhou Jian. Consequently, during the subsequent negotiations, he was on the losing end. After the cooperation project was discussed, the Zhao Family could hardly make any profit from this venture.

This was also Zhao Shuyi’s way of ingratiating himself with Zhou Jian, or rather, with the company behind him, not to make money from the first collaboration but to mend the discordant relationship!

Li Xiangui and Zhou Dafu didn’t get involved in the negotiation process and stood by the whole time, observing how Zhou Jian negotiated with Zhao Shuyi. As the proceedings unfolded, both were deeply impressed by Zhou Jian’s ability and privately marveled:

"The people Tang sends over are indeed talented."
