My Co-renting Lady Boss -
Chapter 237 - 0237: Relentless
Chapter 237: Chapter 0237: Relentless
In the spacious training room inside the villa, the man seated on the grass mat slowly opened his eyes.
The man, in his twenties, was shirtless and wore a pair of wide silk pants, his body evenly muscled, with a lifelike tiger head tattooed on his back and shoulders.
Thump thump!
The sound of the door echoed as the man glanced at the pitch-black door before asking, "What’s the matter?"
"Eldest Young Master, the Second Young Master wants to see you."
An elderly, obedient voice came from outside the door.
The man said irritably, "What trouble has my younger brother caused this time?"
"The Second Young Master didn’t say."
The voice outside spoke again.
"Let him in."
The man stood up and took a jacket from a nearby clothes rack to put on.
Three days and three nights of cultivation had made him feel full of strength, not to mention his spirit was greatly enhanced, and he gained more insight into the use of cultivation techniques.
The door creaked open, and Qin Haitao rushed in, shouting, "Big brother, this time you have to help me take revenge!"
"Ha, what trouble have you gotten yourself into this time, my brother?"
The man sat in a chair and picked up a cup of iced tea from the side coffee table, drinking it in one gulp.
"Big brother, I was bullied by a guy in school. The kid has some martial arts skills; I suspect he’s a martial artist," Qin Haitao said.
"A martial artist?"
The man’s eyes lit up, and he slowly said, "If there’s a student in school who is a martial artist, most likely they are from a noble family. Did you find out which family he belongs to?"
"That kid isn’t from any noble family; he seems to be from the Liu Family," Qin Haitao replied.
"The Liu Family? Which Liu Family?"
The man asked.
"The one that’s specifically in business, with Liu Gaoze as the Family Head," Qin Haitao reminded him.
"Oh," the man said, suddenly realizing, "I know them. The Liu Family has some connections with the Dark Group; this person might be a martial artist bodyguard hired by the Liu Family through some connections."
"Probably. Big brother, will you help me?" Qin Haitao asked.
"Yes, I’ve been in retreat for a few days, and I’m bored. I’ll help you take revenge."
The man chuckled and asked, "But if I help you, you’ve got to help me too. I’ve heard you’ve got some girls under your control; any young, untouched ones?"
"Heh heh," Qin Haitao patted his chest with a mischievous laugh,
"Leave it to me. Whatever big brother wants, as your younger brother, I’ll definitely get them for you, and pick a few young ones to keep you good company."
"Good, that’s why I love having you as a brother," the man burst out laughing.
The two walked out of the training room and into the villa’s garden when suddenly the butler came running in hurriedly.
"What’s all the fuss?"
The man shouted at the butler.
"Uncle Ma, why so panicked?"
Qin Haitao also followed up with a question.
"Eldest young master, second young master."
The butler, Uncle Ma, gasped for breath before saying, "It’s terrible, the Prince has been beaten to death."
"What?"
The man abruptly turned around and questioned Uncle Ma, "Didn’t we have someone looking after him? How could he have been beaten to death?"
"Old Seven took Prince for a walk this morning, and unexpectedly, Prince saw a female dog on the road and broke free from the leash. By the time Old Seven and the others found him, he had already been beaten to death."
Uncle Ma explained shakily.
"Damn it, Old Seven that piece of trash."
The man cursed and then declared, "Whoever killed my dog, I want his life as compensation."
"Exactly, dare to kill Prince, we want his life as compensation."
Qin Haitao also started to roar.
The butler, Uncle Ma, cautiously said, "Eldest young master, we haven’t found out who killed Prince yet."
"Where’s that trash, Old Seven? Bring him to me immediately."
The man’s eyes blazed with rage as he demanded.
Uncle Ma said, "Eldest young master, Old Seven and the other two were taken to the police station by the patrol officers. They won’t be out for a while."
"My dog was killed, and now my people have been arrested, are these police out of their minds?"
The man complained angrily.
Uncle Ma explained with a distressed look:
"Eldest young master, when Prince ran off, he bit several people, one of whom is still in critical condition. That’s why the police took Old Seven and the others back."
"A bite is nothing; pay some money and it’s settled. Prince was raised by my brother from a young age, there were deep feelings involved. He was killed; we must find out who did it to avenge Prince."
Qin Haitao disdainfully interjected after listening.
"Hmph, even if he killed a few people, it doesn’t matter. Ordinary people are like trash, their deaths mean nothing, but whoever killed my Prince has to pay with his life."
The man said, clenching his fists with fierce intent.
"Big brother, let’s go to the police station to bail them out and ask Old Seven who killed Prince."
Qin Haitao suggested with a cunning glint in his eyes.
The man nodded and ordered, "Right, prepare the car immediately. Let’s head to the police station."
In the office of the patrol squadron at the police station, the normally spacious office was now noisy. Old Seven, a man in his thirties, had been smart enough to disclose his employer’s name after being arrested.
The Qin Family was also considered a newly risen power in Songlan City, and had strong connections. Moreover, this incident involved a dog biting people, not people causing trouble, so the members of the patrol squadron had loosened the handcuffs on Old Seven and the others, notifying the Qin Family to handle the compensation procedures.
But Old Seven wouldn’t agree. Recently thriving, the Qin Family took it hard having one of their own picked up by a junior police officer, which Old Seven couldn’t accept, so he was causing trouble inside the patrol squadron.
"I’m telling you, you’ve got a big problem now, you know that?"
Old Seven complained to the squad leader who had arrested him, "Do you know whose dog this was? It belonged to our eldest young master, Qin Haitian. Just hiring people to look after the dog cost several million, and now that he’s been beaten to death, what do you say we should do?"
The squad leader disliked these lackeys of the Qin Family but felt somewhat helpless. Indeed, the incident involved a dog biting people, and the Qin Family members only needed to bear civil liability, not criminal responsibility!
If things got too heated, given the power of the Qin Family and their relentless nature, it would be all too easy to get rid of himself, a mere squad leader. These people really couldn’t be offended; one mistake and he could lose his livelihood.
Therefore, the squad leader could only explain, "The dog wasn’t killed by our police, you and I have nothing to say about it."
"If it wasn’t you who killed him, then who did?"
Old Seven roared at the squad leader, "Hand over the murderer immediately, or else, when our eldest young master arrives, you’ll have a hard time."
At the entrance of the police station, Lin Xue had just gotten off the police car when she heard her colleagues discussing an incident involving a vicious dog injuring people.
When she returned to the patrol squadron’s floor, Lin Xue encountered Tan Ruoxi, a good friend who had joined the police force in the same year as her. She greeted, "Ruoxi, you’re at the station so early, has there been another case?"
