My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 212 - 0212: This is Impossible!

Chapter 212: Chapter 0212: This is Impossible!

"A hundred thousand is still a lot, huh?"

Ma Zhisong laughed and said, "But if he doesn’t have money, we can play for less!"

Tang Ming truly had no money on him, but at this moment, Su Xiaoxi had already pulled him aside, persuading him, "They’re up to no good; just don’t gamble with them. And betting so big—if they swindle your money, it’ll be pointless."

"I have no money, so what’s there to swindle?"

Tang Ming spread his hands open.

Su Xiaoxi was completely speechless, "You don’t have money, and you still dare to agree to play with them?"

"I don’t have it, but you do."

Tang Ming smiled and said, "You lend me some money, I guarantee I’ll win it back for you."

Su Xiaoxi rolled her eyes, huffily saying, "I don’t have money, and even if I did, I wouldn’t give it to you for gambling."

"Then I won’t protect you anymore. I only attracted these guys’ trouble because I was helping you out. You don’t even give me some runaway cash, and now you’re even getting in the way of me making money."

Tang Ming said, with his arms crossed.

Su Xiaoxi thought for a moment, then gritted her teeth and stamped her foot, "Fine, I’ll give you a hundred thousand, but if you lose it all, there won’t be a next time."

"Alright, I promise I’ll pay you back every penny later."

Tang Ming smiled and readily agreed.

After waiting for a while, Sun Zhuangjia saw Tang Ming and Su Xiaoxi coming back and immediately asked, "Are we still gambling or not?"

"Gamble, of course, we gamble. If someone’s giving away money and I don’t take it, wouldn’t I be an idiot?"

Tang Ming laughed and said, "Hurry up and start shuffling the cards."

Ma Zhisong smiled, took out a pack of cards from his pocket, lifting his hand to indicate, "Look, brand new pack of cards. You can check the cards if you want."

"No need, just deal."

Tang Ming directly said.

Within the first three rounds, Tang Ming lost several thousand very quickly, and Sun Zhuangjia laughed, saying, "Let’s not drag this out. Otherwise, we won’t be able to keep track. Tang Ming, you’ve lost forty thousand, pay up."

Tang Ming discontentedly said, "I don’t have that much cash, how am I supposed to pay you?"

"No problem, we can do a card swipe."

Sun Zhuangjia’s eyes signaled to someone next to him, only to see the young man smiling as he took out a mobile card reader from his pocket.

"Please."

Ma Zhisong pointed at the card reader and smiled.

Tang Ming took out the card Su Xiaoxi had given him, swiped it directly, and after the transfer succeeded, the gambling continued.

In the subsequent rounds, Tang Ming lost as usual, either beaten by pairs or flushes, not a single good hand.

After swiping up to ninety thousand, Su Xiaoxi became anxious and directly snatched the card from Tang Ming’s hand.

"What are you doing?"

Tang Ming frowned and asked, "Didn’t you say it’s only up to a hundred thousand?"

"Last chance, if you lose again, you can’t play anymore."

Su Xiaoxi said defiantly.

"Hehe."

Sun Zhuangjia chuckled and said, "Tang Ming, Xiaoxi is afraid you’ll lose too much. After all, we all know what your status is. Losing this much is nothing for us, but for you, it must be about a year’s salary, right?"

"Bullshit, my annual salary is just a hundred thousand?"

Tang Ming swore, refusing to admit it.

"Busted, aren’t you? You keep denying that you’re a bodyguard."

Sun Zhuangjia said, amused.

Su Xiaoxi glared at Tang Ming, hinting that he almost let something slip, but still came to his aid, saying, "What my brother Tang means is he makes only a hundred thousand a year? To him, that’s just pocket change. It’s not really about the amount of money—gambling is just not good."

"It’s not much of a loss anyway, so shall we continue?"

Ma Zhisong just wanted Tang Ming to lose big, so he kept urging him to carry on.

With a slap on the table, Tang Ming’s hand casually swept over the freshly shuffled deck of cards and he declared boldly, "Let’s keep going."

After the cards were dealt, Sun Zhuangjia didn’t even look at his cards this time and chose to keep them covered because it was Ma Zhisong who dealt them, which meant a guaranteed win. Besides, betting without looking at the cards gave him an advantage over those who did look; his bet was ten thousand, and the ones who looked at their cards had to double it.

"Ten thousand."

Sun Zhuangjia called out his bet directly.

This time, Tang Ming also changed his usual approach and followed with ten thousand. Seeing this turn out to be so interesting, all three of them began to place bet after bet without revealing their cards.

In this round, Tang Ming staked nearly two hundred thousand, making Su Xiaoxi sweat with anxiety from behind. The money was a small matter, but she was afraid Tang Ming would get carried away with his betting.

Perhaps taking advantage of Tang Ming’s predictability, Sun Zhuangjia and Ma Zhisong continued their betting without looking at their cards, and the stakes kept rising until they reached a hundred thousand per bet.

"Xiaowu, how much is the bet now?"

Sun Zhuangjia asked the young man beside him nonchalantly, overflowing with confidence.

After counting, the young man keeping track announced, "Each person has put in a million!"

"That much money already?"

Ma Zhisong smiled and asked Tang Ming,

"If you lose, you’re going to have to pay with a card, right?"

"If you lose, it’s the same for you."

Tang Ming smiled.

"Alright, no point in dragging this out. Let’s all reveal our cards and see who has the highest ranking hand."

Sun Zhuangjia thought that a million was an astronomical sum for Tang Ming the bodyguard. If he won this round, he could humiliate the kid thoroughly. Owing him that much, he was curious to see how Su Xiaoxi would help him then!

"I agree."

Tang Ming nodded.

When everyone showed their hands, Ma Zhisong revealed his cards to be the highest with an Ace, while Sun Zhuangjia had a pair of Queens, which was a strong hand among the three.

Sun Zhuangjia glanced at Ma Zhisong and gave a slight smile, indicating that the deal was not bad.

But when Tang Ming turned over his cards, both men were stunned—he had a pair of Kings!

"How come you have a pair of Kings? Impossible!"

Ma Zhisong questioned Tang Ming in astonishment.

Tang Ming gave Ma Zhisong a disdainful look and said, "Why can’t I possibly have a pair of Kings? You dealt these cards. Is it wrong for me to be lucky?"

Sun Zhuangjia, initially suspicious, suddenly glared at Ma Zhisong, hinting that he screwed up the deal.

Ma Zhisong inwardly cursed his luck; he was so focused on giving himself a good hand that he didn’t care what Tang Ming got. He thought his pair of Queens was a sure win, never expecting the other man could be lucky enough to get a pair of Kings. What a miscalculation.

Su Xiaoxi noticed the problem and quickly advised Tang Ming, "Stop playing with them, Ming. They must be cheating you."

"Really?"

Tang Ming feigned surprise.

Sun Zhuangjia’s face turned red, and he argued, "Cheat? We’re honest folks, why would we do such despicable things?"

"Hmm, if you didn’t cheat, why would you say it’s impossible the moment Tang Ming wins a hand? It’s obvious you dealt the cards, thinking with a pair of Queens in hand you had the game wrapped up, yet you didn’t count on Tang Ming’s luck, coming up with a pair of Kings."

Su Xiaoxi retorted with her lips pursed.

"Xiaoxi, I believe they didn’t cheat. That amount of money is nothing to them, they wouldn’t look twice at it."

Tang Ming assured Su Xiaoxi seriously but made a face at her on the sly; he certainly didn’t want to scare away their God of Wealth.
