Chapter 189: Chapter 0189: Sandwich Incident

In the buffet restaurant, two long tables were lined with a variety of delectable foods, from Chinese soy milk, fried dough, steamed buns, and rice porridge, to Western bread and milk, everything one could ask for with at least a dozen breakfast options. Tang Ming was thrilled, grabbing a plate and starting to fill it up from the two table spreads, while Su Xiaoxi and Liu Gaoze also picked up their plates to serve themselves.

However, they both took little, a bit was enough for them, unlike Tang Ming, who had to fill his plate completely before finding a seat to start eating.

Once seated, the portion Tang Ming had obtained was several times larger than Liu Gaoze and Su Xiaoxi’s combined, almost stacking up to the height of a person. Su Xiaoxi, looking at the mountain-like pile of food on the table, frowned and said, "If you can’t finish this, you’ll be fined, so you better return it now while you haven’t started eating yet. You can always get more if it’s not enough."

"He can’t finish?"

Liu Gaoze said in surprise, "Then you really don’t know him."

Tang Ming smiled proudly and said, "If I can’t finish, it’s a fine, but if I’m not full, do they have to pay me instead?"

"You can’t be full with all this?"

Su Xiaoxi pouted and said, "You’re going to eat yourself to death."

Tang Ming just smiled and dug in, and by the time Su Xiaoxi had finished her soy milk, she looked across at Tang Ming, only to find that the mountain-like pile of food had disappeared, while Tang Ming was stuffing his face with two buns in each hand, rapidly popping them into his mouth one after another, almost making one doubt if he had swallowed them down without even chewing.

"Did you really finish it all?"

Su Xiaoxi looked around the table, which was empty, and asked in astonishment.

Liu Gaoze just smiled, as if he had expected this, "That’s why I said you don’t understand Tang Ming, he is really a glutton."

"Haha, sir, you’re complimenting me."

Tang Ming said, holding his empty plate and getting up, "I’m still not full, I’ll go get some more."

He then got up and walked back to the long table with the food, quickly returning with a large plate. Seeing that Su Xiaoxi had finished eating and was wiping her mouth, he put down the plate and said to Su Xiaoxi, "If you’re finished eating, could you help me out?"

"With what?"

Su Xiaoxi asked, putting on airs.

"Grab a plate and help bring some food over for me. I can’t carry it all by myself, and it’s quite bothersome. You grab the food while I keep eating—that’ll save time."

Tang Ming pointed to a stack of food ahead and said, "There are sandwiches over there, they taste very nice, get me a bunch when you’re there."

After speaking, Tang Ming sat down and started eating voraciously again.

Su Xiaoxi, seeing how much he could eat, was completely speechless and took a plate to help Tang Ming, but when she reached the table with sandwiches, only one was left. As she reached out to pick it up, she saw a hand move faster than hers, swiftly scooping the last sandwich onto a plate.

"Hey, what kind of person are you?"

Su Xiaoxi looked up, annoyed, only to find a guy standing behind her. He was ugly, and his hair styled like some kind of foreign rock star, thick like ropes, all clumped together like octopus tentacles, which was rather nauseating to look at.

"Hehe, beautiful, you like sandwiches too?"

The octopus-head made a teasing comment upon seeing Su Xiaoxi’s pretty face.

Su Xiaoxi pinched her nose and frowned, wondering if this guy had even washed his hair. There was a strange smell that was particularly unpleasant.

However, Octopus Head lacked such self-awareness and continued to hit on her.

"I like sandwiches too. How about we dine together, beauty? We can split it, half each," he proposed.

"Get lost, who wants to eat with you? I feel like vomiting just seeing you."

Su Xiaoxi frowned and said, "I saw that sandwich first, and you just took it away. Have you no manners at all? And your hair is really disgusting."

Octopus Head, scolded by Su Xiaoxi, didn’t look pleased and scoffed, "Hmph, whoever grabs it first owns it. There’s no such thing as who came first. Now that the sandwich is on my plate, it belongs to me."

Enraged, Su Xiaoxi stomped her foot and walked away without bothering with him.

Octopus Head chuckled and said, "That little beauty is quite fierce. This is an auction; if we were outside, I’d take you away and train you properly."

Fuming, Su Xiaoxi returned to her table and slammed the empty plate down. Tang Ming, hearing the noise, looked up and couldn’t help but ask, "How come you didn’t get anything?"

"I’m so angry. I ran into an octopus head who snatched the last sandwich and said whoever grabs it first owns it. Can you believe there are people like that?"

Su Xiaoxi complained, "I was just about to pick it up."

"Where is he?" Tang Ming asked.

Su Xiaoxi quickly looked up and started searching around the buffet restaurant. Soon enough, she spotted Octopus Head drinking at a table and pointed at him, "That guy over there, with the disgusting hair that also smells weird."

Identifying the person, Tang Ming got up and walked over. Seeing that the sandwich on Octopus Head’s plate was still wrapped and untouched, he swiftly grabbed it.

Octopus Head looked up and exclaimed as he saw Tang Ming holding the sandwich, "Hey, why are you snatching my sandwich?"

"Didn’t you say whoever grabs it owns it?" Tang Ming replied with a sneer and walked back to his table.

Octopus Head didn’t explode yet, his eyes fixed on Tang Ming. When he saw Su Xiaoxi at his table, he realized that Tang was standing up for the young lady. Immediately, he got so angry that his eyebrows nearly twirled.

"Damn it."

Octopus Head, fuming, ran up to Tang Ming’s table and swung his arm, knocking all the food onto the floor. He scoffed coldly, "So you like to steal, huh? Keep stealing now. I guess you can only steal from the floor."

Seeing this, Tang Ming’s anger surged, and he clenched his fists ready to strike, but just then, a commotion arose nearby. Several restaurant staff approached, one of whom was a burly man with thick eyebrows and the appearance of a bodyguard, who pointed at the food on the floor and demanded, "Who threw the food onto the ground?"

Another worker, also displeased, added, "Even if you can’t finish it, you shouldn’t just throw it on the floor and waste it. Look, many of these items aren’t even opened yet!"

The onlookers, equally irate, agreed that throwing food on the floor was indeed a wasteful and inconsiderate act.

The burly staff member addressed Tang Ming and his group, "According to the auction’s rules, since you threw the food on the floor, we have to fine you five times the original price of the food. The fine isn’t the point; we want you to remember not to waste food, regardless of how wealthy you are."
