My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 175 - 0175: Making a Detoxification Pill

Chapter 175: Chapter 0175: Making a Detoxification Pill

Half an hour later, a car from the Chen Group pulled up outside the Xia Family’s shop, and a thirty-something-year-old man with the appearance of a secretary got off.

When the man saw Chen Cang, he hurried over and respectfully said, "Young Master, you asked me to come in such a hurry, is there something wrong?"

"Quick, write a check for two million and give it to this woman, I’ve bought this shop," Chen Cang instructed, pointing to the landlady.

The secretary was taken aback, and then he lowered his voice and said, "Young Master, this house has been burned, it’s not worth two million. If you really want it, I can negotiate with her slowly, I guarantee to get you the best price."

"What’s the use in talking nonsense?"

Chen Cang yelled at the secretary, "Hurry up with the money and get this matter settled so I can leave."

"Oh."

The secretary was shaken by his outburst, and his heart lurched; he quickly went to the landlady to negotiate, and then wrote her a check.

After receiving the check, the landlady happily said,

"Okay, I’ll have someone send over the contract to sell the house tomorrow. As soon as they sign it, the house will be theirs. They just need to go to the real estate exchange to transfer the title."

"Okay."

Chen Cang nodded and then looked eagerly at Tang Ming.

Tang Ming nodded and said, "Okay, since you’ve taken on the responsibility, let’s consider the matter settled. But if there’s a next time, I’ll stuff this package into your pants and light it."

"I wouldn’t dare, I’d rather die than risk that again," Chen Cang hastily replied, scared, as he and the secretary ran off like they were fleeing, quickly getting into the car and leaving the place.

In the car, Chen Cang leaned back in his seat, drenched in sweat and still frightened, feeling utterly helpless against someone as fearless as Tang Ming.

"Young Master, why would you buy that burned house and give it away?" the secretary asked with some puzzlement.

"Don’t ask, I was the one who set it on fire. I had to buy it to compensate them, didn’t I?" Chen Cang thought for a moment and then instructed, "Don’t tell my father about this. Think of a way to balance the accounts. If all else fails, just blame it on me, say that Tang Ming beat me and I had to spend money on hospital bills."

"Sure, I know what to do," the secretary nodded, but inside, he was gleefully thinking about how he could profit from the situation. He could easily pocket tens of thousands; he planned to go to the landlady to demand a kickback, threatening to prevent the check from being cashed if she refused—a tactic that had never failed him in business dealings.

The damage to the ice cream shop wasn’t actually that severe; it was just smoke that had blackened the building. The main structure wasn’t significantly damaged.

Wei’er’s mother contacted a renovation company, and people would come tomorrow to redo the place. The electrical system needed to be redone, but compared to unexpectedly acquiring a house, the renovation costs were definitely worth it.

"Tang Ming, I really can’t thank you enough for this time. Without you, Auntie would have been in deep trouble, and now we even got a shop out of it," Wei’er’s mother said gratefully.

"Auntie, I actually caused this trouble, bringing hassle to you, so I’m the one who feels embarrassed. Now that I’ve compensated you with the shop, consider it a reparation," Tang Ming replied and checked the time, "Auntie, I have to go now. If you need anything, just call my mobile."

"Tang Ming, thank you," Xia Wei’er said as she chased after him to express her gratitude.

Tang Ming smiled, "It’s nothing, you go back."

And so, the matter was resolved, and Chen Cang didn’t cause any further trouble. That day, when Tang Ming and the others returned from school to the villa, they saw Liu Gaoze sitting in the living room.

Liu Gaoze was always busy, if he wasn’t at the company, he was buried in his laboratory work; he seldom had free time to come to the villa. Tang Ming guessed he was there to see his daughter or he had something else to discuss with him.

Indeed, after dinner, Liu Gaoze signaled Tang Ming to come to the study.

Entering the study, Liu Gaoze directly asked, "Little Tang, has anything unusual happened recently?"

"It’s been quite peaceful lately, nothing has happened, but I suspect that the assassin won’t just let this go and will probably cause trouble again."

What Tang Ming referred to was Shen Yan because, from the previous encounters, Shen Yan was a stubborn assassin who wouldn’t easily give up until the mission was accomplished.

"Then you must pay attention to the safety of Meng Ting and the others."

Liu Gaoze nodded and said with concern.

"Uncle, rest assured, as a bodyguard, it’s my duty to protect their safety."

Tang Ming then asked, "Is there anything else?"

"There is one matter that will probably require your bodyguard skills."

Liu Gaoze said in a grave tone, "My laboratory recently needs a special material that is extremely hard to find outside, but fortunately, there is an auction happening soon in Wanjing City. That material is said to appear at this auction, and I’m determined to acquire it. For the material’s safety, I would like you to accompany me there."

"Is that so? Then sure, I have no problem with that."

After Tang Ming agreed, he worriedly added, "But what about Meng Ting and the others?"

"Don’t worry about that; I’ll make arrangements. The midterms are coming up, aren’t they? I’ll have Meng Ting and the others stay at home to review, and I’ll arrange for more security to protect them nearby. This should make it foolproof."

Liu Gaoze said with a serious expression.

"It’s best to arrange it that way."

Tang Ming nodded, thinking that as long as they didn’t go out, the assassin wouldn’t get the chance to strike. An assassin certainly wouldn’t be able to sneak into a heavily guarded villa area to commit a crime.

"Exactly, the surveillance here in the villa district is networked with the police station. If anything happens, the police will be here immediately!"

Liu Gaoze explained.

"By the way, what’s this auction about? It doesn’t sound like an ordinary auction for antiques, does it?"

Tang Ming asked with interest.

Liu Gaoze smiled and shook his head, "No, it’s not. This is a private auction organized by various martial arts families, sects, and business families. Both martial artists and business family members can participate. Everyone takes out things they don’t need to auction off in exchange for what they do need. That’s the purpose of this auction."

"Oh, I see."

Tang Ming thought for a moment and then, struck by a thought, asked,

"Uncle, can we also bring things to auction off?"

"Of course, but I don’t have anything valuable on hand; do you have anything?" Liu Gaoze inquired.

"I do, I’ll bring it along when the time comes."

Tang Ming said.

"Alright then, bring it with you. But remember, if the value is too low, they won’t let it go to auction," Liu Gaoze reminded.

"Don’t worry, what I have is quite valuable; it’ll definitely fetch a good price," Tang Ming smiled.

The next day, Tang Ming went to the kitchen to get some flour, then took it back to his room.

He had already decided on what he would auction off at the auction: Detoxification Pills. The actual crafting of genuine Detoxification Pills was very complicated, something Tang Ming wasn’t capable of yet, but he had a quick solution for Detoxification Pills, and the effect was pretty good!

It involved combining his blood with the flour; whoever consumed his blood naturally could neutralize the poison they were afflicted with.

This wasn’t just made-up nonsense by Tang Ming; when he was on a mission in North Africa, he had unintentionally discovered that not only could he be immune to any poison, but his blood, once ingested by someone poisoned, could actually detoxify them!
