Chapter 734: 740 First Contract_1
"Madam Chairman, I think our chairman has been deceived. That woman doesn’t care about him at all. It seems like she has an unspeakable relationship with General Manager Qin..." Assistant Liu whispered to Lin Xiangwan what he had observed, but added that the Chairman did not believe any of it.
Lin Xiangwan did not understand why Qin Muchuan trusted that woman so much that he seemed to disregard even his basic judgment.
"Madam Chairman, what’s happened to our chairman? Why is he acting so unlike himself? I don’t understand," Assistant Liu asked, confused.
Lin Xiangwan nearly burst into tears. She understood the intention behind the assistant’s words - he was trying to comfort her - assuring her that she was better.
But shouldn’t he consider her fragile mental state? Hadn’t she suffered enough?
The woman cheated on him, and he doesn’t seem to care, he still adores her.
Lin Xiangwan gave a bitter smile and said, "Doesn’t that mean he truly loves her? Because in true love, you disregard everything else... There’s a saying, right? Men and women in love have IQ of zero. That’s exactly the case with Qin Muchuan now!"
"But one should still be able to differentiate between right and wrong!"
Lin Xiangwan smiled and said in a patient manner, "Whatever he thinks or does, it really isn’t my problem!"
Assistant Liu felt awkward. "I’m sorry, maybe I said too much!"
"Oh, it’s okay!" responded Lin Xiangwan indifferently, "I’ll go make Spicy Hot Pot for you."
"Thank you, Madam!"
"Don’t call me Madam, call me Sister Lin. You may also call me boss. I actually prefer the latter as it sounds quite prestigious," Lin Xiangwan said, laughing in feigned vanity.
The assistant also laughed and replied, "Okay, Boss Lin!"
After the customer left, the cashier girl turned to Lin Xiangwan and complained, "No wonder Qin Muchuan is so confused these days. The way he hires people is so poor, such a blabbermouth he has hired!"
Lin Xiangwan smirked, "Not really. Qin Muchuan is good at managing people. The people working for him are quite loyal."
The cashier girl scanned Lin Xiangwan and thought to herself, ’That’s true, Qin Muchuan does have a knack for winning people’s hearts, otherwise, Sister Lin wouldn’t be so devoted to him.’
Lin Xiangwan changed the subject, handing an iPad to Xuexue. "What do you think? Would this color wallpaper go well with these curtains and furniture, making the room look more modern?"
Xuexue studied the picture intently. "Sister, the wallpaper is purple, and you’ve chosen curtains of a darker shade from the same color family. Such coordination is excellent, it’s as if you’ve sketched the eyebrows on a face perfectly - enhancing the overall beauty of the face. The furniture is Korean-styled and it gives off a warm and clean vibe. Well done!"
"Would you like this room, if it were yours?" Lin Xiangwan asked again.
"Absolutely!"
"Then, have a look at this furniture arrangement." Lin Xiangwan slid over another picture.
"I really love this too!" Xuexue exclaimed.
Lin Xiangwan looked at her exaggerated reaction and sarcastically commented, "You don’t have to exaggerate so much, it’s too obvious!"
Xuexue looked hurt, "I’m not pretending, Sister, I genuinely believe your arrangements are great!"
"Really?" Lin Xiangwan was still unsure. This was her first business project and she was supposed to present it to the client the very next day. At that point, she was lacking confidence.
"The customer will decide tomorrow, but I can assure you they will love it..."
And just as Xuexue predicted, the middle-aged couple loved Lin Xiangwan’s design, especially the European-style theme.
"The décor is simple, clean, compact, and clear - even if I stayed in this room for a week or a month, I wouldn’t feel annoyed or overwhelmed... that’s something that really appeals to me," said the female homeowner.
The husband expressed his satisfaction as well, "Absolutely, as a writer, I usually spend a substantial chunk of my time working in the room. If there were too many intricate patterns, I would feel distracted. The furniture here gives the room a sense of sophistication which I quite like!"
Hearing the accolades from her clients, Lin Xiangwan’s heart pounded. She could tell the couple were satisfied with her design, but she still couldn’t completely believe it.
This was her first ever business deal. Could it have concluded this smoothly? Was she wrong to anticipate a failure? It had far exceeded her expectations and she was prepared for criticism. "So you guys liked it a lot?"
The couple looked at each other and nodded.
She nervously asked again, ""Are there any changes you’d like me to make? Like, for instance, the furniture brand. Are you happy with the chosen brand?"
"Not at all!" the female homeowner very confidently replied, "We examined the furniture yesterday itself. In fact, the brand you chose was on my list of options too. I’m well familiar with it, so it’s not a problem. Let’s settle with this!"
Lin Xiangwan smiled. "Well then, let’s order these, if you’re okay with the price!"
"Okay, we have no issues!"
The couple had zero issues and went on to the mall with Lin Xiangwan to order the furniture!
Later, they expressed their gratitude to her. Because she got them a much better deal than what they would’ve gotten negotiating themselves!
Her first business deal turned out to be as easy as a dream for Lin Xiangwan.
On helping her calculate her earnings, Su Yueze said, "The brokerage fee is 500, the couple gave you a red envelope with 200 in it, you got a commission of 1500 from the furniture, and 1000 from the curtains, altogether you earned 3200 for a mere 10 hours of work. Not a bad income for a day’s work, huh?"
Having made 3200 in ten hours, Lin was quite satisfied. "It’s really good, extremely decent!"
"Of course, at the end of the day, you’re on your own. You can’t amass a fortune just from this!" Su Yueze wasn’t as satisfied as she was.
Lin Xiangwan disagreed, "It’s already really good and it’s much better than most jobs. Plus, I also have the restaurant business..."
"Without exploitation, there’s no profit or scope for growth. But this kind of work, we could get more people involved!"
