Qin Muchuan stopped in his tracks, turned to her, and answered calmly, "I had a bit too much to drink last night. When I dropped you off at the inn, I was already tipsy but managed to keep a straight face. I couldn’t drive home so I left the car here."

"Oh..." Lin Xiangwan nodded, then asked perplexedly, "How did you come to pick up the car by yourself? Are you free today?"

Qin Muchuan moved his lips, "No, I stayed at the Hilton last night!"

"Did you stay with Zhou Ziqing?" She didn’t know how she managed to ask that question.

"By myself!" Qin Muchuan gave her a sideways glance.

"Really? Alone? I don’t believe it!" Lin Xiangwan pouted. "Last night, you seemed strong and seemed like you couldn’t possibly be sleeping alone!"
