Chapter 405: 410 Severe Torture_1
Lin Xiangwan baffledly looked at him, raising her bright brows more than a caterpillar. "Why would I blame the designer? This bed, you wanted to buy, isn’t it? And you liked to buy, right? If you had no improper thoughts in your mind, would you fancy such a thing?"
Qin Muchuan closed his mouth, dared not to retort.
His silence made Lin Xiangwan even more upset. "Why don’t you speak? Do you think I’m wrong, don’t you?"
He immediately shook his head. "No, everything my wife said is right, absolutely right!"
"Then why aren’t you speaking?"
"May I talk?" He pointed to his mouth.
"Speak up!"
"Alright, let me explain!" Qin Muchuan cleared his throat softly. "This bed was purchased from an elderly man!"
"It’s a used bed!" Lin Xiangwan snorted. "Dear, we can use used things, but how can we sleep on a used bed? Isn’t it uncomfortable? Especially when you said it was bought from an elderly man, it sounds scary. Did the previous owner die? Isn’t it kind of creepy for us to sleep on it now?"
"This..." Even Qin Muchuan felt embarrassed. "I’m sorry, I didn’t think through when I bought it. Since I thought I wouldn’t be here often, I placed this bed in the master bedroom. If you don’t like this bed, I can have it moved to another room and buy a new one!"
Lin Xiangwan waved her hand. "There’s no need to go through all that trouble, we can sleep in another room, right?"
Qin Muchuan nodded. "Yes, it’d be better that way!"
Watching the tightly entwined dragons and phoenix on the bed, twisting and coiling in several distinct curls, Lin Xiangwan was quite uncomfortable. "Even though it’s a used bed, you shouldn’t have bought this, right? To be honest, isn’t it because of these carvings that you bought it?"
Qin Muchuan pouted in frustration, clenching his lips tightly, unsure of how to explain to his wife.
"You better speak!" Lin Xiangwan urged.
"My wife, this bed was crafted by a grandmaster, the dragon represents a man, and the phoenix a woman..."
Lin Xiangwan’s cheeks turned bright red, she pointed at him. "See, I knew you were thinking something inappropriate. Just look at their shapes, doesn’t it mean..."
Qin Muchuan nodded. "Yes, what you thought is absolutely right. But this bed is meant for couples to sleep on, symbolizing a harmonious and prosperous marriage, both soaring to success, and... achieving nobility among individuals..."
"Humph, you sure know how to butter it up!" Lin Xiangwan scoffed. "So how much did you pay for this wooden bed?"
"..." Qin Muchuan opened his mouth but eventually chose to remain silent.
Seeing his reluctance to answer, Lin Xiangwan guessed the bed didn’t cost much. "Actually, even though this bed might be a bit old, it seems pretty sturdy. It must have cost at least two or three hundred, right?"
Qin Muchuan tugged at the corner of his mouth, almost bursting out laughing.
His wife was such an entertaining creature, wasn’t she?
This bed had once accommodated Jiang, Jie, and Shi, coincidentally also housed by Song, Mei, and Ling. He could assure that these two persons haven’t died on this bed.
This was indeed a valuable, perfectly preserved relic.
He’d spent ten million to buy this little piece!
Two or three hundred?
It was hilarious that his wife could come up with such an argument.
Qin Muchuan really wanted to enlighten her about the value of this bed, but would it be face-smacking for his wife?
So, he decided it was better to stay quiet.
Lin Xiangwan moved around on this bed.
The bed was quite gentlemanly, not making any creaking noises.
She glanced at him. "Not bad, the quality is good!"
Only then did Qin Muchuan dare to nod. "Yes, I thought it was quite nice when I bought it, so I decided to get it!"
"If you indeed spent two or three hundred on it, then it’s really worth buying. You made a good choice!" Lin Xiangwan complimented.
Qin Muchuan replied, "Thank you for your praise, my wife. It’s not easy to get a compliment from you!"
"Haha..." She burst out laughing. "Well, it’s not that hard!"
After examining the bed, Lin Xiangwan’s gaze shifted to the bedside table.
She felt the edge of the bedside table looked like it had been worn down, revealing the color of the wood underneath.
But how could there have been any wear at that spot?
Lin Xiangwan placed her hand on the worn-out spot. Her hand conveniently fit along the edge of the table.
An image consciously formed in Lin Xiangwan’s mind.
A woman knelt on the ground, her hands on the edge of the bedside table.
Instantly, her eyes blazed with fire as she turned to Qin Muchuan and angrily pointed to the table. "Do you dare to say that the paint was deliberately worn off by the designer?"
Qin Muchuan nodded. "Yes, that’s what the seller told me!"
"Don’t lie to me, that’s not it at all!" Lin Xiangwan challenged confidently.
Qin Muchuan was quite puzzled, he didn’t understand why his wife would get angry over worn-out paint. "How do you know I’m lying to you," he hurriedly defended himself. "Just to clarify, I didn’t admit to lying to you. I was told this by the seller when I bought it!"
Lin Xiangwan fumed. "I’m telling you that’s not it. And you... stop lying to me!"
Tears were about to spill over from her aggrieved eyes. Ah, no, they were just on the verge of spilling over.
Thinking about how he had been living a life of drunken debauchery, surrounded by wine and song every night before he met her, she couldn’t control her sadness.
She looked at him with a pitiful, aggrieved look.
Qin Muchuan indeed felt somewhat accused, even though he thought it was a bit ridiculous. "Honey, if you have any thoughts, you can say them out loud, we can discuss together. If you’re suspecting me of some crimes, at least let me understand what they are!"
"So, you want to understand? Then let me tell you, so you can understand clearly!"
Lin Xiangwan directly knelt on the floor, her hands resting on the edge of the bedside table.
Turning to look at him, she glared at him resentfully. "Now you get it, don’t you?"
Seeing his wife squatting, Qin Muchuan couldn’t help but laugh and cry. "So, that’s how the paint was worn off!" He exclaimed with a sudden realization.
"Isn’t it? That’s exactly how it got worn out!" Lin Xiangwan affirmed confidently.
"Uh-huh..." Qin Muchuan coughed slightly. "To be honest, I really didn’t realize this before!"
