Chapter 160: 160 Battle for Child6_1

Lin Xiangwan considered herself lucky. She encountered no traffic jams on her way into B City and swiftly located Qin Muchuan’s extravagant villa.

The villa was located in an upscale residential area where all the residents were notably affluent. Many capitalists owned properties here.

Standing at the grand entrance, Lin Xiangwan saw luxury villas stretching as far as the eye could see. The community came with beautifully landscaped gardens, elegantly shaped artificial mountains, and man-made fountains. Veiled by mystery, the residences lay hidden behind these breathtaking view.

There were four security guards at the entrance. It was impossible to sneak into the complex unnoticed!

Lin Xiangwan stood behind a large tree near the entrance, her slight frame concealed by its thick trunk.

Just as she reached for her phone, it began to ring.

Seeing the caller ID, she quickly answered, "Baby, mommy’s here. Can you come out?"

"Mommy, I’m ready! I’m going to come out!" Qin Yutong whispered over the phone.

"Okay!"

"Oh, Dad’s not home right now, but he might be back soon. So be careful. You should hide somewhere!" Qin Yutong cautioned.

Their father was a terror to them, as much as the enemy. He planned to separate them from their mother, and how was that different from a villain? He was ruthless!

"Mommy knows. I am hiding in the bushes; as soon as you exit, I will be able to see you!"

"Okay!"

Setting her phone aside, Qin Yutong threw her bag over her shoulder and made to leave.

Lin Haoran, on the other hand, followed her on, saddling an enormous backpack stuffed to the brim.

Seeing his staggering steps, burdened by the weight of the backpack, Qin Yutong couldn’t help but frown. "What are you doing?"

"Joining mom!" Lin Haoran answered naturally. Wasn’t this what had been agreed?

Their father was unscrupulous and unethical, tricking them away from their mother with a false promise that she was waiting for them on the plane. They only realized they were deceived after boarding the plane.

But it was too late then; the plane had already started moving!

So, they had no choice but to return to B City with their father. They were effectively duped. At least Lin Haoran, as the son, was no traitor!

"I mean... why are you carrying so much stuff?" Qin Yutong held back her frustration and asked again.

Aren’t twins supposed to share a telepathic bond? Although they were fraternal twins, they were still born together. Why did Lin Haoran always struggle to understand her questions?

"Oh..." Lin Haoran suddenly understood and put on a cheeky grin. "We’re running off to mom, of course, I need to bring her some nice things! Our dad’s an evil capitalist, we must not show any mercy."

"Cough, cough..." Qin Yutong was shocked and stuttered, pointing at Lin Haoran’s backpack. "What the hell did you pack?"

Was it money?

"Unused shampoo, towels, and a nice-looking alarm clock!" Lin Haoran listed the contents of his spoils.

"No way!" Qin Yutong was dumbfounded. "These things are dirt cheap, why do you need them?"

"What should I take then? I didn’t see anything more valuable!" Lin Haoran feigned helplessness.

"Dad has a safe, didn’t you see it?" Qin Yutong reminded.

"But I can’t open it!"

"His birthday could be the code. It’s common for his generation to use their birthday as a password!"

"I don’t know Dad’s birthday!"

"Gosh... well, you could try our birthday!" Qin Yutong was frustrated with her brother’s lack of initiative.

Knowledge of whose birthday wasn’t the issue, the point was to generate an idea at all, okay?

"But I can’t take the money. It’s theft. Mom will scold me!" Lin Haoran shook his head, refusing to do anything to embarrass his mother.

Qin Yutong thought there was some reason to her brother’s logic. "Well, those things are too heavy. Leave them and let’s go!"

"It’s not that bad! I can manage!" Lin Haoran clung to his war spoils.

"Don’t you realize carrying these things will attract attention?!" Qin Yutong was so agitated she nearly yelled.

"Tongtong, Ranran, what are you doing?" Nanny Liu walked out and asked.

Despite her nickname, Nanny Liu was relatively young, stylish, and neat. She was a reliable housekeeper who had worked for the Qin family for many years.

"Oh, Nanny Liu, we’re just playing house!" Qin Yutong replied cheerfully.

"Ah...I see. Enjoy yourselves, but not too late. Remember bed time!" Nanny Liu cautioned them without a hint of suspicion.

"We know, Nanny Liu!" Qin Yutong flashed a teasing smile.

"You two are the spitting image of each other, I can’t tell you apart!" Nanny Liu remarked with surprise, fascinated by the pair. Despite being back home for more than two hours, she still found them intriguing.

"Nanny Liu, are my cookies ready? I can’t wait to eat them!" Qin Yutong reminded her.

"Oh yes, I completely forgot! I must check on them in the kitchen!" Nanny Liu hurried to the kitchen.

Exchanging a glance, Qin Yutong and Lin Haoran tip-toed towards the exit, ready to escape.

Outside the door stood two bodyguards.

The villa already had countless security personnel. Unless absolutely necessary, their father wouldn’t post additional bodyguards at the entrance – a fact which surprised Qin Yutong when she saw them. She quickly shut the door before they spotted her.

"What’s the matter?" Astonished by the sudden halt, Lin Haoran asked, confused.

"There are guards outside, what should we do?" Qin Yutong asked hesitantly.

Lin Haoran knitted his brows. "We’ll have to distract the guards!"

"Who will create the distraction?" Qin Yutong asked, eyes wide.

"You!" Lin Haoran replied.

"No can do, you go!" Qin Yutong ordered her brother.

"Why?"

"Because I’m familiar with this place, and you’re not. I can find mom outside, can you?"
