Chapter 1015 - Chapter 1015 Chapter 114 Letter from the Capital City
Chapter 1015: Chapter 114: Letter from the Capital City Chapter 1015: Chapter 114: Letter from the Capital City [Holy City-Nointana]
Bell Tower-Clockwork Chamber.
The main office of the Clockmaker.
The current Clockmaker had removed her mask, revealing the delicate face of a Western woman. However, amidst her skin, there were clearly metallic fitting lines, and her mechanized facial features appeared to be able to open and close at will, adapting to various situations.
The Clockmaker was perusing regular Fate-related information when,
the uniformly operating gears inside the Clock Tower suddenly began to rotate at different speeds and frequencies.
It wasn’t an emergency, but rather someone was communicating with Holy City through the Fate Space.
The Clockmaker immediately ‘translated’ the different gear frequencies into an audio file, which was then neatly stored in an exquisite ‘Message Music Box’.
This was the communication method between different capital cities.
Messages were transmitted through the fixed codes of the Doors of Fate.
Typically, communication was reserved for important matters, since it required expenditure of a certain amount of points–Fate Points, for humans at the current stage, are wealth, resources, and a tangible tool for combating Demons.
Information from other capital cities had to be passed directly to the parliament.
The ‘Diplomat’ specially in charge of intercity communications would receive the content transmitted by the other party.
Messenger: Capital City United Assembly, [Turing Modeling]Board of Directors, [Mendel Biotech]Board of Directors.
Audio content:
“In a recent ‘True Fate’ event, our Capital City team had a certain level of conflict with a team claiming to be from Holy City.
Due to the unusual circumstances and the death of Novikov from Mendel Biotech–a fifth-level Engineer–whose cause of death is currently unknown,
we need to verify some information with Holy City.
According to the report of our surviving team, in the World of Fate they encountered a team claiming to be ‘Knights of Holy City,’ among whom was a Demon (Ancestor Body).
The team claiming to be Knights of Holy City included: Nicholas Valen, Dumps Martin, Mia Seminovich, and Abe Rhein.
In addition, a malicious event occurred during the Fate incident.
Among them,
a young man named [Nicholas Valen]acted as the team leader.
Despite knowing that the Prometheus Node was under our Capital City engineers’ control, he still initiated a Node War.
If he is related to your Holy City, in accordance with the Human Survivor Regulations, we hope you can provide relevant information about this person.
…
The Diplomat who received the message did not show any unpleasant expressions, nor did they immediately search for the names provided by Capital City.
The typically dignified Diplomat, on this occasion, showed a smile with a hint of secrecy.
Even the Clockmaker beside them slightly raised their arm, covering the mask… On one hand concealing a smile behind the mask, and on the other, revealing a trace of surprise.
The team leader’s name provided by the Capital City messenger was recognized by both the Diplomat and the Clockmaker.
Nicholas had been monitored by the parliament since the [Big Betrayal] incident and was selected as a ‘Candidate for Parliament’.
Additionally, with his performance in the knight’s tournament, most of the parliament members had heard this name.
As for the Clockmaker who was ‘close’ to Mr. Black White, that goes without saying.
Due to ideological differences, there were more or less contradictions between the three major cities, and the relationship between Jiuzhou Dragon City and the other two powers was not much different.
But the relationship between Holy City and Capital City was not so good–especially as it had continued to deteriorate in recent years.
Not to mention the conflicts in Fate Space, and even casualties among personnel.
The two capital cities themselves had fundamentally different concepts regarding the liberation of all humanity.
The main activities took place in [Outer City Exploration].
The Holy City was quite proactive, sparing no effort and even willing to sacrifice soldiers and generals continuously to gather information from outside the city.
They carried out several deeper adventures outside the city, using the records on some stone slabs to launch attacks on Exotic Demon bases or explore regions containing Chaos Treasures.
In the eyes of the Holy City, since Breaking the Breed required ‘killing Exotic Demons’ as a key point, they must be in constant interaction with the outside of the city.
However, it was different for the Capital City; these engineers relied heavily on the ‘big data’ they had calculated.
In their view, humanity at the current stage should take full advantage of the Fate Space to accumulate elite warriors adept at combating Exotic Demons.
They only carried out basic explorations outside the city and in recent years even attempted to achieve ‘unmanned remote exploration’ through technological means to minimize personnel losses as much as possible.
Only when the overall level of the Capital City was sufficient to contend with the Exotic Demons on the data level would they then conduct large-scale activities outside the city.
As for the [Big Expedition], the Capital City sneered at it, and even conspiracy theories were raised, suspecting that the Holy City intended to use the Big Expedition as a cover for large-scale ‘contact’ with the Exotic Demons in private.
…
“‘Prometheus’ node original holder–Capital City, senior engineer–Ed Louis… is a very talented and strong individual.”
The Clockmaker, well-versed in the Fate System, directly announced the name of the corresponding holder.
The Diplomat was both excited and showed a surprised expression, “Incredible.
Even if [True Fate] forcibly limits senior engineers to fifth-order, the perception of truth still exists, and their overall strength is definitely stronger than fifth-order.
With the support of the world nodes, they are basically invincible.
This young man was actually able to seize the node with the identity of a [second-order knight].
Right! I remember Nicholas signed up for the Big Expedition, so how could he appear in a Fate event? And although those guys from the Capital City are quite arrogant, they would not lie about something like this.
Why is there an Exotic Demon with an Ancestor Body in Nicholas’s team?
Additionally, the Expeditionary Army hasn’t arranged any ‘Outer City Node’ Fate activities yet, right? How did Nicholas participate in Fate activities?
It’s a happy occurrence but must be thoroughly investigated… currently unable to contact the Expeditionary Army, we can only go through the Prophet for any updates.”
The Diplomat wrote a personal letter, intending to have the Messenger from the council deliver it to Mr. Black White.
“Let me deliver it… I have a relatively close relationship with Black White, and if he has urgent matters and is not in the Stargazing Room, I can find him quickly.
This matter must be verified as soon as possible, for any misunderstanding with the Capital City could bring significant trouble your way.”
“Hmm.”
The Clockmaker personally took on the task of delivering the letter.
Of course, the Clockmaker’s main body still needed to remain in the Bell Tower, constantly monitoring the ‘Door of Fate’.
Responsible for delivering the letter was a Mechanical Avatar created by combining the Clockmaker’s ‘inherent powers’ with the Holy City’s advanced steam technology.
When the Clockmaker went to the Dark Moon Tower, it was the [Head Butler] from the cemetery who greeted him personally.
His image was that of an old man whose body emitted the scent of a rotting corpse, one of whose eyes was concealed by a ‘copper mirror,’ and who radiated an aura of strength that was easily at Soldier Level.
“What a rare guest… Miss, it has been decades since you set foot on Dark Moon Land.
Mr. Black White especially instructed that if you were to come, please take this letter… you will find Mr. Black White’s current location through the letter.”
As he spoke, the Head Butler placed a finger to his lips.
“Remember to keep Mr. Black White’s absence from the Stargazing Room confidential and make sure to declare that Mr. Black White is in seclusion there.”
“Hmm.”
“This old servant will continue to wait here for the miss’s return, and if all goes well, you will surely break free from the [shackles].”
The letter was encrypted with a unique gear cipher from the Bell Tower, and was ultimately deciphered into a special symbol through the Clockmaker’s ‘piecemeal interpretation’.
The symbol bore the seal of the Mechanical God Sect’s ‘Mechanical Cross’.
