Chapter 85: Chapter 85: The Disintegrated Tianji Sect
Zhou Zixiong thought of many things in an instant. He did not know the relationship between Long Feifei and Xiao Zheng, so he decided to ask tentatively.
"Miss Long, pardon my boldness, but what is your relationship with the person who gave you the bracelet?" Zhou Zixiong asked with a smile.
What relationship? Long Feifei was startled and then thought of what happened between them in the hotel, her face immediately flushing red.
Seeing Long Feifei’s face turn red, Zhou Zixiong immediately guessed her relationship with Xiao Zheng.
"It seems that the relationship between the two of you isn’t simple," Zhou Zixiong said with a suggestive look at Long Feifei, obviously alluding to her relationship with Xiao Zheng.
But even with his guess, he could not say it out loud. After all, it was not proper to speak of such matters; if he embarrassed her, it would be quite inappropriate.
"Since Miss Long is unwilling to say, then I won’t press you any further. You may go now," Zhou Zixiong said, not wanting to be inconsiderate when he saw she was reluctant to speak.
"I...I can really go now?" Long Feifei still wore an expression of disbelief.
Zhou Zixiong nodded and said with a smile, "Of course, the investigation is clear now, and it has nothing to do with you."
"Officer, thank you, thank you for proving my innocence!" Long Feifei quickly expressed her thanks.
Zhou Zixiong waved his hand and said, "No need, no need. As people’s police, we naturally won’t wrong any good person. Let me walk you out!"
"No need, I can go out by myself," said Long Feifei, surprised at the offer.
But Zhou Zixiong insisted on escorting her, and as Long Feifei could not dissuade him, she had to let him accompany her.
In the end, Zhou Zixiong personally escorted Long Feifei to the police station entrance. Before leaving, he said, "Miss Long, if you see that person, tell him that this matter is a bit troublesome, and if possible, let him contact me."
After he had spoken, Zhou Zixiong turned and walked back to the police station.
Long Feifei stood there, looking puzzled as she gazed at the bracelet on her wrist, lost in thought.
She did not understand why this bracelet had made the chief’s attitude change so quickly; could it be that the bad person had a very high status? But if that bad person held such a particular status, why could he commit murder?
Long Feifei did not know what kind of person Xiao Zheng was, but from her initial contact with him, Xiao Zheng appeared completely like a rogue. Yet, she had not expected his status to be so profound.
"Since I can’t figure it out, I won’t think about it anymore. Who cares who he is? He is just a bad person who violated me!"
After much thought, Long Feifei could not guess what Xiao Zheng’s true identity was or why he had fortuitously appeared at Eton Manor, but since she could not figure it out, she decided not to dwell on it.
That was the kind of person Long Feifei was; she would not obsess over things she could not understand, for it would only add to her troubles without any benefit.
Having reached home, Long Feifei filled the bathtub and then lay down in it. She was physically and mentally exhausted and nearly fell asleep in the warm bubble bath until she suddenly came to her senses.
"Hoo... hoo! Good thing I didn’t fall asleep, otherwise there could have been trouble," said Long Feifei, feeling relieved.
She had read online that someone had fallen asleep while bathing and actually died, supposedly from carbon monoxide poisoning, although she did not know if it was true or false.
After getting up, Long Feifei dried off and changed into a fresh set of clothes.
She did not have classes that morning, but in the afternoon, Long Feifei did have one class to teach, so after resting for a while and having lunch, she went to school.
Long Feifei was a high school dance teacher and an adjunct professor, as regular high schools do not have dance classes. This school had somewhat of a noble academy vibe, with all its students hailing from affluent families.
Long Feifei had the second period, so it was fine even if she arrived late, as long as it did not disrupt the class schedule.
Just as she entered the office, Long Feifei noticed the teachers who did not have class gave her peculiar looks, which piqued her curiosity although she did not know what had happened.
"Hey, have you heard? Teacher Long is suspected of murder!"
"I heard, I heard. They say the victim was a wealthy man. Geez, what explosive news!"
"That’s not even the most shocking part. Supposedly when that rich guy died, he was naked..."
Just as Long Feifei sat down, she overheard a few teachers next to her discussing something. She bit her lip, her face showing a wronged expression.
After Yang Qian’s bodyguards reported to the police, they went to Long Feifei’s residence first and then to the school when they did not find her at home. Following these events, the entire school knew that Long Feifei was a murder suspect, and the school was in an uproar.
Long Feifei was known as the most beautiful teacher at the school, pursued by many male teachers and adored by numerous male students. No one had expected that the ever-smiling Long Feifei could be a murderer.
"She always acted so pure, but who knew she was like this."
"Indeed, this shows you can’t judge a book by its cover!"
"Shh, keep it down. Do you have a death wish? She’s killed before."
"Why haven’t they arrested her yet?"
"Who knows, probably haven’t found the evidence yet!"
The group of teachers whispered among themselves. Although their voices were low, Long Feifei still heard them.
Just then, a somewhat balding middle-aged man, around forty or fifty, walked in and said, "Teacher Long, please accompany me to the principal’s office."
The middle-aged man was the head of the academic department, and his gaze toward Long Feifei had changed. Previously, when he looked at Long Feifei, his eyes were filled with aggression, but now they showed fear.
Long Feifei bit her lip and walked to the door, intending to say something to the head of the academic department, but he quickly moved aside, a frightened expression on his face.
"You, you go ahead," said the head.
Long Feifei wore a wronged expression. She did not know why everyone was treating her this way, but she had truly not committed murder, otherwise the police would not have let her go.
But she also knew that no matter what she said now, these people would not believe her. She guessed the principal was calling her to the office because of this matter.
"It seems I’m about to lose my job," Long Feifei thought, feeling so wronged she wanted to cry, but she held back.
