Chapter 870: Chapter 870: So It Was a Three-Family Alliance
"Really, if I had known the space would be destroyed, I wouldn’t have gone through all the trouble to find the Life Box."
Muttering to himself, Zhao Guang instantly appeared beside Sephidya.
Sephidya was different from the other two, not only having a Soul Contract but also being his Contract Pet. With the Summoning Space as an intermediary, Instant Teleportation was much easier, and the coordinates were clearer.
He didn’t return to the place he came from because Zhao Guang was worried about any arrangements the enemy might still have.
If he returned the same way and got hit again, that would be troublesome.
After all, space techniques can be a headache even for him when they take effect.
"Master, you’ve finally returned." As soon as he appeared, voices came from around him.
Just as Zhao Guang got a clear look at Sephidya, he was enveloped by her, his head buried in indescribable things. Then, with a chorus of soft exclamations, the women rushed in, hugging him wherever they could.
By the time Zhao Guang broke free, he found himself surrounded by a group of women.
He felt like a blooming flower, really uncomfortable, unable to move.
After all, with his strength, a single movement could easily hurt them. Not everyone had the physical prowess of Sephidya; in front of him, most people were as fragile as vases.
He finally managed to calm them down and freed himself.
Even Alya, how come you’re acting like the other women, we’re not developing that fast, right?
Noticing Zhao Guang’s gaze, Alya’s face turned slightly red, as she had been too excited. After all, Zhao Guang was the person she had set her heart on, so sometimes her actions would naturally go overboard.
"Tell me, why are you all here?"
"It’s what Sephidya said. She said if Master were to return, he would definitely use her as the coordinate."
Although Sephidya had only been born recently, her inherited memories had led to her rapid growth. In many aspects, especially in Magic, even Zhao Guang wasn’t as sharp as Sephidya.
Certainly deserving of being a Silver Dragon, one of the dragons most proficient in Magic.
"How’s your investigation going?" Knowing that they’ve definitely probed since his disappearance.
Zhao Guang thought for a moment, opting not to immediately disclose what he knew but to first ask.
After all, the enemies included the Temple, and Zhao Guang wasn’t sure everyone would stand on his side. He couldn’t help it; Morna and Claire grew up in an environment of Great Nobles, knowing how strong the Temple was.
Zhao Guang even felt unsure about how deep their faith in the Divine was.
He was confident he could gradually mold them completely to his way, but for now, he couldn’t.
"We’ve captured all the suspects, with cooperation from the Elves and Beastmen. Our investigation revealed numerous people from various major forces, and the culprits were Deathpool cultivated by the Klein Empire."
"I’m sorry, Master, it’s my oversight. This shouldn’t have happened." Xi Fei looked ashamed because she oversaw the construction of this city.
"It’s not your fault; you have a lot on your plate. Even if you were watching all the time, it wouldn’t have made a difference given the complexity of the personnel here."
Xi Fei’s mood didn’t improve. She had resolved to clear up the chaos here.
Though Zhao Guang sensed it, he chose not to say much, as it was somewhat a good thing.
Moreover, as long as Xi Fei felt good, it was fine. Xi Fei and Jeana had been with him from the start; to him, they were far more important than anyone else.
"Let’s go, there’s nothing left to do here, let’s head back."
"So, are you really going to let the Klein Empire off just like that?"
"Of course not. Don’t forget, our Thunder Warriors have almost fully formed; most of them can maintain the strength of mid-level professionals now. Additionally, we can use our Air Corps; let’s give them a run then."
Indeed, if he was assassinated without a response, it would imply he was too soft.
If indeed he showed nothing, Zhao Guang himself might not say much, but it would be a blow to the spirits of the people. So many had witnessed this incident firsthand, it was impossible to hide from them.
Yet Zhao Guang had his means of revenge, not to be carried out openly.
"Who would’ve thought, three factions united this time; they must hold me in quite high regard."
With a cold smile in his heart, Zhao Guang thought, neither the Temple, Klein Empire, nor those Undead Mage would get away.
Others might grudges against him, but what’s with the Undead Mage, he had no real grievances with them. Even if he posed a threat to them, the Undead Mage wasn’t an organized whole.
And though he pondered, Zhao Guang felt a bit frustrated since these were formidable foes.
The Temple’s power was exceedingly strong; he couldn’t confront them openly, that would provide them the grounds to deploy strongmen. The number of their Legendary Strongman surely rivaled the elves and might even surpass them.
Of course, perhaps there were even more, only it’s unknown in the outside world.
He also couldn’t move against the Undead Mage on a large scale, considering two Legendary Mages are backing them. Correct content is on freew.ebno(v)e\l.(c)om.
The two Legendary Mages were to the North, physically near him. If they attacked him first, it would prompt others to counterattack. But should he be the aggressor, it would be his just punishment.
Then there’s the Klein Empire, a solid empire he could certainly not contend with.
At least unless the Chirali Empire aimed to completely conquer Klein Empire and initiate a war for nation-extermination, there wasn’t much he could do. How come these three foes were beyond his ability to deal with?
Truly bothersome, Zhao Guang’s heart stirred with annoyance. Ultimately, his strength was too weak.
He must continue to train to elevate his abilities; he wouldn’t continue waiting idly. If this kept up, when could he truly be free?
There’s nothing much to worry about back on Earth, but in the Otherworld, he still had to keep a low profile.
Alas, he decided to openly retaliate first; for such a massive force, he couldn’t believe it had no problems whatsoever. On the contrary, the larger the organization, the more numerous the flaws within.
As Zhao Guang turned back to leave, he had already ordered his men to start investigating everything about the Klein Empire.
