Chapter 205: Chapter 136 Su Zimai: Brother Lao, don’t die, Brother Lao (Requesting Monthly Tickets)

The night was already deep in the Gu Yima District, outside the window of a room on the second floor of a certain standalone residential building.

A giant pigeon with mystical light in its eyes flapped its wings, hovering in mid-air. The flashing neon lights from the advertisement signs illuminated the snow-white giant pigeon. Its tail was connected by a dotted line to the magic gloves in the girl’s hand.

Su Zimai stood on the pigeon’s back, glancing sideways toward Ji Minghuan who was sitting dazedly on the bed, "Big brother, you’re not that cowardly, are you?"

Ji Minghuan rolled his eyes internally, thinking that he finally didn’t have to pretend anymore.

Earlier, he had put himself into the shoes of a background character in one of those overbearing dragon novels, while his sister was the protagonist with a crooked grin who had endured for three years. Emerging from seclusion, she revealed her identity as the Dragon King in front of family that looked down on her, shocking the background character for an entire year.

From Su Zimai’s expression, his little sister seemed to be secretly delighted despite her cold demeanor.

Feigning a look of recovering from shock, Ji Minghuan got up, walked to the window, took Su Zimai’s hand, and climbed onto the giant pigeon created by magic tricks.

The pigeon silently flapped its pristine wings, carrying the two of them into the dark sky.

Sitting on the pigeon’s back, Ji Minghuan looked down, gazing at the brightly lit city of Li Jing, his hair lifted high by the night wind.

He turned his head to look at Su Zimai’s profile; she seemed absent-minded, the brim of her tall hat casting a shadow that hid her lowered eyes.

Ji Minghuan shifted his gaze from her face, yelling against the fierce wind,

"Why didn’t you tell us sooner?"

"Because it’s dangerous, I didn’t want you guys to know about these things." Su Zimai said softly.

"Then why suddenly tell me now?"

Su Zimai pondered for a bit, then buried her head in her bent knees, her voice very light:

"I’m afraid that one day I might suddenly disappear, and then you wouldn’t know anything and wouldn’t be able to find me."

"Is that possible, after all we didn’t know you were an Exorcist." Ji Minghuan asked nonchalantly, "Since it’s so dangerous, why do you keep doing it? You could die, you know... if you can’t beat those demons, you’d be devoured in one bite."

"Because if I become a prominent figure among the Exorcists, I’ll have the chance to meet the Rainbow Wings people, and then I can find out why mom really died." Su Zimai paused, "And dad and brother wouldn’t keep fighting!"

Her last sentence seemed to be shouted, but the wind above the city was too strong, reaching Ji Minghuan’s ears only as a very soft sound.

He turned his head blankly, looking at the flashing ad signs on the building’s surface, where a Mutant, Blue Arc, was endorsing a laptop. Blue Arc stood beside the laptop with arms folded, explaining the superiority of its performance with much conviction.

Turns out you all still have the same starting point, a family should indeed be foolishly united...

But sis, you’re really naive. At least you need to be a character of the Lake Hunting level to have the qualification to collaborate with Rainbow Wings, right? It feels like other level Exorcists would find it tough just to meet Rainbow Wings.

Ji Minghuan thought, then asked, "So why not tell big brother or dad?"

"I’ll tell them after I find that Rainbow Wings person..." Su Zimai said, "So, I hope you can keep it secret for me for now."

"Alright, I’ll keep it secret from them."

Hehe, actually I’ve already let it slip, Ji Minghuan thought, silently averting his gaze.

"Why tell only me?" he asked.

Su Zimai turned her head aside without answering. She didn’t know why either. That day when Black Cocoon saved her from the auction, she instinctively felt that it was Gu Wenyu. Despite rationality and previous facts reminding her that this was wrong and unrealistic, she couldn’t help but think that way at the time.

Ji Minghuan pondered for a while, "So that day you were serious, huh? I thought you guys were playing truth or dare. You actually suspected I was Blue Arc then?"

"That was my teacher acting on her own... no, the leader." She said indignantly, "The leader said you might be a Superpower User, and also mentioned that you coincidentally came to Japan at that time, so you might be Blue Arc. Even I was startled then."

"So Ke Qirui, she’s also an Exorcist?"

"Yeah. She’s very capable."

"Oh right, and that damn Black Cocoon also deceived me."

"Black Cocoon?"

"He said something like ’your brother is Blue Arc’, and I got fooled, deceived by my leader the first time, and by that big flapping moth the second time."

"Sounds really nasty, this Black something Cocoon, next time I’ll curse him with you."

"Please don’t... he’s very dangerous. Even now, I still don’t know if he’s good or bad, the leader said unless she’s around, stay away from Black Cocoon. We can’t understand Black Cocoon’s motives, he buzzes around like a fly, annoying everyone."

Is that so, you praise your savior like this? Ji Minghuan wondered, thinking that the Queen’s Statue should have taken action that day to end this ungrateful sister.

"Alright then, I won’t curse Black Cocoon." he said.

The enormous white pigeon glided over the brightly lit business district, ascending along the glass curtain walls until it ultimately landed on the rooftop of a tall building. Su Zimai was the first to alight from the pigeon’s back, her feet lightly tapping onto the railing of the rooftop.

She stood on the railing like a magician, hands clasped behind her back, standing firmly, then tilted her head proudly with a mischievous gaze at Ji Minghuan:
