Chapter 95: Aetherion

Chapter 95: Aetherion

Ethan used teleportation but couldn’t get out of this place. It was as if he were trapped inside a space where even the very fabric of reality was locked.

He continued expanding his mental domain. When it reached six times the area of Earth, he sensed a monster at the planetary realm.

Did I just fall from the sky and land on some kind of monster world or something?

Five minutes later, he detected more planetary-level monsters. They all seemed to be gathered on one side, which made Ethan guess that must be the deeper region of this forest. So, he started flying in the opposite direction. He wanted to understand where he had ended up. Was this a planet or something else?

If it was a planet, he figured he could just fly upward and eventually reach space. But he didn’t risk it, as there was a chance there could be powerful flying monsters lurking in the sky.

So, he flew just a meter above the ground. His mental domain kept expanding. He was trying to find any clue that could help him understand this strange place. After flying for five hours, Ethan had covered almost 100,000 kilometers. Yet, he was still inside the forest. Moreover, his mental domain now spanned a radius of around 1 million kilometers. Ethan grew frustrated.

What the heck is this place?

But ten minutes later, his mental domain caught a battle.

Finally!

There were three men and two women fighting a king-level monster, a rhino-type beast. The leader seemed to be a King himself, while the other two men were peak Grandmasters. The two women were both middle-rank Grandmasters.

Ethan immediately used teleportation. The battle was happening 1 million kilometers away from him. NovelFire

He appeared near the scene, but not directly in front of them. He didn’t want to startle anyone.

The rhino was incredibly tough. The leader was fighting with a massive hammer. One girl was healing the team. One man seemed to be an assassin. The other one was clearly a tank, the meat shield of the group using a huge sheild.

The other girl wasn’t fighting at all. She was just calmly watching the battle.

Maybe she hired these warriors to fight for her.

Everything seemed to be under control, and the monster was on the verge of collapse. But then, its eyes suddenly turned red, it went berserk.

Boom!

The tank who was holding a giant shield was flung far away.

The rhino roared and charged at the leader, who was also sent flying. The healer girl rushed to his side to heal him.

But the rhino spotted her. With terrifying speed, it charged toward her. The girl turned pale with fear. The woman who hadn’t been fighting immediately started running the moment she saw this.

The assassin tried to save the healer, but he was only a Grandmaster. The rhino was a King-ranked monster, there was no way he could stop it.

The healer stood in despair. She was the only hunter in her family. So much responsibility rested on her shoulders. Her little brother was about to enroll in the Hunter Academy. Her mother was sick. Her father had died in a beast tide. Tears streamed down her face as memories of her brother and mother flashed before her eyes.

"I’m sorry, brother... big sister won’t be by your side anymore."

Ethan sighed. He needed these people to answer his questions.

A small flying knife materialized beside him. With a sonic boom

The blade sliced the rhino into countless pieces.

The girl had kept her eyes tightly shut. But the impact she’d been expecting never came. Instead, she heard a deafening boom. She opened her eyes and saw an extremely handsome young man standing in front of her.

Ethan had teleported there. He wanted her to know he was the one who saved her, nothing more.

Ethan asked calmly, "Are you alright?"

The girl’s heart started beating faster. She nearly stuttered, "Ye... s, si... r! Thank you for saving my life."

Ethan nodded, then looked at her teammates who were still lying on the ground, along with the assassin who had just arrived.

Ethan said, "Your teammates need your assistance. Go, help them."

The girl snapped back to her senses and turned to look at the captain and the guardian of the team. Both were semi-conscious. The guardian, especially, was in critical condition, he was just a peak Grandmaster afterall. Correct content is on

She tried healing him first, but it had no effect. The wound was fatal. She sobbed, "I’m sorry, Mark. I’m not capable of saving your life."

Ethan appeared beside her and said, "Go save your leader. Leave him to me."

The girl was surprised but did as instructed.

Ethan healed the guardian even before the girl could reach the leader.

He didn’t help the leader though. The girl could handle that.

Ten minutes passed. The girl looked pale, having exhausted nearly all her energy. But the leader was healed.

Ethan waited calmly.

The assassin didn’t even dare breathe too loudly, afraid he might disturb Ethan.

Five minutes later, both the leader and the guardian woke up.

The girl explained how Ethan had saved their lives. She was still in a daze.

How did this man heal Mark? He could kill that rhino and also heal? What kind of broken ability does he have?

The four of them approached Ethan and bowed deeply.

The leader spoke earnestly, "Thank you, sir, for saving our lives. I’m Finn, the leader of this team."

The guardian added, "I’m Mark. Thank you for saving my life, sir."

The assassin said, "I’m Willium. Thank you for saving Bella’s life and ours too."

Then the girl introduced herself, "Sorry for the late introduction, sir. I’m Bella. Thank you once again."

Ethan nodded and said, "I have some questions for you."

Finn immediately replied, "Of course, sir. It would be our honor."

Ethan began asking basic questions, where was this place, what was its name, what was the power system, was this a planet or something else?

The team members were seriously astonished.

A powerful person like him doesn’t even know such basic things?

But they didn’t dare question him and answered each one patiently.

After thirty minutes, Ethan finally had a rough understanding of this place.

All he could say was, "What the fuck?"

This wasn’t a planet. These people didn’t even know what a planet was.

They called this place Aetheron, a massive world with no known end.

The power system was built around "Awakeners," also known as Hunters. There were E to A rank hunters, and even levels above A, called S rank Hunters.

At the age of fifteen, individuals would attempt to connect to the system of Aetheron. If they had talent, they could awaken. Talents included swordsmanship, magic, warrior types, berserker modes, beast taming, and more.

These talents were also ranked from E to S. The higher the talent rank, the higher the hunter rank one could reach.

After connecting with Aetheron’s system, they could level up by killing monsters gaining exp, either in the wild or in dungeons. Clearing dungeons also offered special rewards.

So... a damn space crack threw me into a freaking game world. Huh, Not bad. I just keep transmigrating from one place to another. That seems to become my job now.

Ethan cursed inwardly. It definitely felt like another transmigration,

Only this time, with a clone.

That was the only difference.

He asked the system,

"What the fuck is going on?"

"Figure it out yourself, Master. Best of luck."

Damn that bastard.

Totally unreliable.
