My American magical life -
Chapter 624 - 624 106 Choices_2
624: Chapter 106: Choices_2 624: Chapter 106: Choices_2 The capital of Missouri is located in Jefferson City, but for old Missourians, they actually have three capitals.
Southern Missourians consider Springfield their capital, northwestern Missourians turn to Kansas City in Kansas State, and northeastern Missourians to St.
Louis—none of which give a second thought to Jefferson.
The Gulfstream G650 broke through the clouds and landed at Kansas Airport, where Temir did not linger for even a minute, heading directly by car to Blue Springs Town on the western side of Kansas City.
Achilles’s influence wasn’t so great, and Mi’er wouldn’t come back in such an embarrassing manner just because of something he said.
That would be too absurd; after all, this wasn’t the slave era, and although she was a girl, she held some status in the family.
This time she returned home, the raven-haired wealthy woman wanted to see her father.
The motorcade entered Highway 70, and it would be only ten minutes before she could be home.
Yet, Temir’s feelings were incredibly complex; it had been a long time since she visited the Caramakris family’s old house.
After her facial reconstruction and convalescence in Missouri, she stayed in St.
Louis, where she also owned property.
For Mi’er, going home was a very stressful matter.
The motorcade turned off Highway 70 onto an unmarked byway that led to an estate just outside Blue Springs Town, which also happened to be the center of the Caramakris family’s activities for nearly a century.
“Take the box I brought, and don’t forget it.”
The car stopped, and Temir instructed her entourage before quickly stepping through the home’s entrance.
In the first-floor studio, she found her father, Antony Caramakris, a sixty-something architect.
Noticing his youngest daughter’s arrival, Antony, still clutching his paintbrush, trembled slightly.
However, he chose to give Mi’er the cold shoulder for a moment.
“Wait a moment, sit down first.
I’m not finished painting yet.”
Temir didn’t sit down; instead, she turned back to signal her entourage to bring the gift she had brought and then walked over to her father’s side, watching intently.
To outsiders, Antony was a ruthless capitalist, but he preferred to be called an architect.
Although he had designed only a few buildings in his lifetime, the ones he did create were quite successful.
Yet Antony didn’t think this success was worth boasting about—after all, it was all in Missouri, and he didn’t believe what others said.
Today he was painting a watercolor, and many who didn’t understand art assumed that oil paintings were superior and that watercolors, gouaches, or Chinese paintings lacked something.
But there was no such disdain in reality.
Antony learned to paint as an architect, so when he painted for pleasure, he chose gouache and watercolors, and he was quite good at them.
“It has a rather somber feel.
Has anyone upset you recently?”
The question irritated Antony deep down, but the old man, his hands full with painting supplies, merely glanced sideways at her.
Do you think it was anyone?
Antony didn’t voice his thoughts.
It was rare to see his headstrong younger daughter, and he didn’t want to argue.
The raven-haired heiress smiled awkwardly, put down the small box in her hand, and leaned on the back of the seated Antony.
“Dad, don’t be upset.
I’ve come back, haven’t I?~”
Antony looked at the castle in his painting, the corners of his mouth curling slightly, then said gravely,
“Wait until I finish.”
Although I love you deeply, I must give you the cold shoulder!
Temir had never been the goody-two-shoes type.
She clung to Antony, stuffing the gift she’d brought for him into his arms.
“I went on a business trip to Hua Country recently.
This is a gift for you; you’ll absolutely love it.”
Eventually, Antony couldn’t hide his smile any longer.
He was a big capitalist, but that didn’t stop him from being an old father at the same time.
His disobedient daughter had returned, showing much more sensibility than before, and he was heartened.
“What’s inside?”
The raven-haired heiress coyly replied with her hands behind her back,
“You’ll know once you open it.
I even had our partners in Hua Country find it for me; it’s really special.”
Antony, with a craft knife handy, chuckled and opened Mi’er’s little present.
Inside was a complete set of traditional Hua Country painting pigments, including such valuable items as gold and silver powder that weren’t cheap.
“Mineral pigments, vegetable pigments, and natural compounds, how about that, are you pleased?”
Of course, Antony was pleased.
He actually had these items and even had a more extensive collection than what Mi’er had given him, but he cherished his daughter’s expression of closeness.
How many years had it been?
Because he had been too absorbed in work, he had nearly forgotten when exactly Mi’er had started giving him the silent treatment.
“Pleased, hahaha, have you eaten yet?
It’s almost dinner time.
Tell the chef if there’s something specific you’d like to eat.”
So, it seems East and West are the same in some ways.
Antony, at the pinnacle of global capitalism, still asks his daughter if she has eaten.
“I really shouldn’t eat at this hour; how about we talk in your study instead, what do you say?”
“You must eat something, Mi’er.
You’re too thin now, you look like you could be blown over by a gust of wind.
You need to eat more.”
“Ha, don’t worry about that.
I’ve been training really well in boxing; I’m actually not as frail as you think.”
Pushing Antony’s wheelchair, Mi’er headed with him into the study.
Antony knew why Mi’er had come, and Mi’er knew that Antony was aware of her reasons for the visit, but neither of them brought up the issues regarding California or Achilles.
After being humiliated and on the receiving end of CEO Cheng’s lessons many times, Temir had finally grown up.
Her long period of rebellion was thoroughly crushed by harsh realities, and now she resembled a well-behaved daughter.
