My American magical life -
Chapter 328 - 328 10 The Blue Sea
328: Chapter 10 The Blue Sea 328: Chapter 10 The Blue Sea Watching the two people sitting across from him, Domo couldn’t help but be secretly astounded.
Little Zhao was daydreaming, still savoring why she had killed herself.
Domo was shocked; he truly admired CEO Cheng from the bottom of his heart.
Chan, you seem to be quite impressive.
Two hours, even longer-lasting than the most durable male guest in Holy Valley.
“So, um, have you decided on what category you want to do?”
The portly chef snapped back to reality and focused his thoughts on the legitimate business issue at hand.
“Desserts.
Human craving for sugar is imprinted in our genes.
I’m thinking of making freshly-made high-sugar desserts, kind of like a pastry version of Starbucks.
But I don’t need a big store, which can significantly reduce my operating costs.”
The portly chef rubbed his hands together, thinking he was a genius.
The demand for desserts is basic; he had thought of a breakthrough strategy for competitive differentiation for his company, which was an advantage.
After listening to Domo’s plan, CEO Cheng nodded noncommittally.
“A small store for desserts is a good idea, but it’s too easy to replicate.
Even if you develop new products quickly, it’s easy for competitors to copy, and besides, the profit ceiling isn’t high.
My evaluation is that it seems like an opportunity, but in reality, it’s a trap.”
CEO Cheng’s disappointment was evident; he had assumed that Domo’s closely guarded secret was some earth-shattering strategy, but it turned out to be nothing more than a lump of hot air.
“No, Chan, I’ve consulted with a professional research firm.
The players in the dessert industry aren’t doing it big yet.
As long as a leading brand emerges, it can reap the benefits of increased industry concentration.”
The portly chef spoke quickly; he was serious about his research.
Responding with an awkwardly polite smile, CEO Cheng was somewhat disinterested.
After a soul-stirring encounter with Zhao Hongjin, chatting with an ordinary second-generation like Domo was just boring.
Domo realized CEO Cheng didn’t want to talk much more, but he admired CEO Cheng’s abilities, so he asked.
“Chan, what are your thoughts?
Did I say anything wrong?”
CEO Cheng shook his head and teased with a smile.
“Give me the contact information for the business manager who connected you with that research firm.
I love this kind of sharp-minded and persuasive talent.
My new company really needs someone like them to join.”
CEO Cheng’s words were thoroughly cutting; even Zhao Hongjin couldn’t hold it in and laughed out loud.
CEO Cheng’s implication was simple: Domo had been thoroughly conned.
“WHY?
Why, Chan?
You don’t even know her.
How can you judge she’s deceiving me?”
His expression a bit rigid, but the portly chef Domo still wanted to struggle.
He realized he might have made a foolish mistake, but he was still somewhat resilient.
“The so-called lack of high concentration of leading brands in the industry itself proves that there’s a big pitfall.
It’s a simple logic, and yet, you’ve been conned like this.
She?
Was this female business manager very beautiful?”
CEO Cheng asked mockingly.
“This…
well, okay, I studied architecture in college, and I’m not that well-versed in the logic of these things.”
There’s no greater pain in life than struggling hard for hope, only to look closely and discover that hope is but an illusory bubble.
“Give me her contact information.
I really want to meet this unscrupulous talent.
Did she also tell you that she could provide services for your company once it launched?”
When it comes to hiring, CEO Cheng is serious; he’s in desperate need of reliable people.
Drinking gloomily, Domo muttered.
“You guessed it, and, she’s currently my girlfriend…”
Um…
Both men and women were silent; CEO Cheng and Zhao Hongjin unexpectedly exchanged a glance, each seeing a trace of sympathy in the other’s eyes.
Poor chef, he’s been targeted by a gold digger.
“Alright, Domo, my friend, life is a box of strange-flavored candies; the next one might just be sweet.”
Patting Domo on the shoulder, CEO Cheng and Little Zhao left.
As they closed the door, they could almost hear Domo’s crying.
He was a portly man with dreams, his family wealthy and prudent, but that didn’t change the fact that he was a pitiable man.
Getting a girlfriend who was out to con both his money and his heart, that’s something no one could easily endure!
—————–
An elevator is a confined space, and confinement can make people feel anxious.
If one doesn’t play with their phone in an elevator, their heartbeat might speed up just a bit.
So, when the apartment elevator was descending, Zhao Hongjin, who was still pondering over why she had killed herself, realized she couldn’t end up so utterly defeated.
She wasn’t Temir with a strong competitive drive.
The girl only felt that she had been bewildered by Cheng Daqi; now, she had to catch CEO Cheng and use him as her Paru.
“Daqi, I didn’t film much material tonight.
All my plans were disrupted.”
Little Zhao’s voice even carried a hint of grievance; truly, women are born performers.
A nineteen-year-old girl speaking in such a delicate voice, CEO Cheng’s old man’s heart began to stir again.
Blessings be, can’t get carried away.
CEO Cheng did a bit of mental preparation before responding.
“Hmm, no rush, we can post it next week.”
Huh?
Daqi, are you being that cruel?
You, as a man and also my friend, and also the one who caused me to fail at filming, now that I’ve sent out a signal for help, how can you just stand by without politely offering to help?
I can understand the lack of gentlemanly manners, after all, that stuff is just made up to deceive people.
