My American magical life -
Chapter 1124: 144: Why Republic!
Chapter 1124: Chapter 144: Why Republic!
“New World”, in the Tiger Faction, Empire Faction, and Beida Sect merged to form the Golden Gate Group.
The power formed after this faction combination often lacks sufficient trust accumulation, and after the Chairman’s death, it naturally falls into internal conflict.
After a round of chaotic dealings, the final victor was the undercover police officer Li Zicheng, while Zhang Shouji, who thought he had already secured the position early on, became a joke.
In the movie, the most bizarre scene is when Zhang Shouji, the number two figure in the Golden Gate Group, was threatened by someone he had recruited to betray Li Zicheng, but was ultimately killed by them.
Power and strength never exist naturally because of a position or title; they only obey those who tame them—note, there are priorities in the means of taming as well.
Similarly, as the Leader of the Empire, the Great Commander theoretically possesses supreme power, but the cost of exercising this power is so great that it can make the mortality rate for this position higher than that of soldiers, firefighters, and miners.
Washington D.C.’s bureaucrats are watching him, vultures-like capitalist enforcers—the media are watching him, local tycoons are watching him, other factions within the party are watching him.
Every person, everyone qualified to play the game is waiting for him to make a mistake, waiting for him to express his demands, waiting for him to give an opportunity.
To give an opportunity to trade supreme power for the realization of personal demands.
Now, as Hutter flies back to Washington D.C., this opportunity has arisen.
How to glimpse the operating logic of America’s power game?
Just look at Hutter’s ‘normal’ work report!
The first to contact Hutter was the leader of the master assassination investigation team, National Security Assistant Flynn.
“Hutter, why aren’t you answering my calls?”
Appointed by the Great Commander, Flynn naturally needs to be responsible to his superior.
But within this responsibility, there’s absolutely no point in ‘making the truth appear now’.
Amid the intense conflict of internal contradictions in America, the truth is not important; the value brought by the truth is the key.
How to make the truth bring value?
It requires meticulous weighing and appropriate entry points, just like negotiations in business, not revealing one’s hand right away!
Flynn clearly understands what the Great Commander wants, so upon realizing Hutter was walking solo, he attempted intervention immediately.
However, when Hutter got off the plane, he just perfunctorily said over the phone.
“Sorry, I’m too tired, I fell asleep on the plane.”
On Hutter’s way back to Washington D.C., Flynn called him three times, called his assistant seven times, and contacted the plane’s captain twice.
Flynn wanted to intervene, but Hutter ignored him.
“Why are you making such a big fuss returning to Washington D.C., you know, I’m the one in charge!”
Flynn said, somewhat exasperated.
If this matter isn’t handled properly, and the truth gets out of control, he will certainly be labeled as incompetent by the Great Commander.
For someone who hasn’t lost their ambition yet, such a label equates to a death sentence for his political life.
“The situation is quite urgent, I must personally report to the Great Commander, sir.”
With that, Hutter hung up the phone.
The assistant opened the car door for Hutter, and this powerfully influential deputy director skillfully entered the black Cadillac Escalade.
Three Escalades slowly drove out of the airport, where security personnel stopped them at the airport gate.
The airport security chief was almost fuming; he didn’t expect to be involved in such a dispute today.
His subordinates couldn’t stop the deputy director of Forbes, so he personally appeared at the Washington D.C. airport exit.
The chief accompanied by his security personnel walked forward, the Chauffeur’s window rolled down, inside sat Hutter with a serious expression.
“Sir, sorry, your permission has been revoked, it’s an order from the Washington D.C. Traffic Control Committee.”
Hutter didn’t waste words, he looked directly at this unfortunate airport security chief, saying.
“I am Deputy Director Hutter of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, appointed by the Minister of Justice, serving as the leader of the Nigeria terror attack investigation team, and am now preparing to report the investigation results to our Great Commander.”
Are you sure, you want to obey some traffic committee order to stop me?”
The chief gritted his teeth, said.
“Sir, sorry, before receiving the order allowing your passage, I cannot let you leave.”
Hutter sneered, gave up communication, directly instructing the driver.
“Drive!”
The Cadillac Escalade is indeed a good car, effortlessly knocking open the pathetic barrier at the airport gates.
The people at the airport weren’t qualified nor had the guts to stop him; after breaking free from that pathetic, ridiculous restraint, Hutter could go wherever he wanted.
Destination, Oval Office!
Distance, 7km!
Three Escalades soon drove onto Interstate 395, a road built by Eisenhower fifty years ago.
When Hutter was a child, he lived next to a highway, and his father ran a brotherly restaurant, not too well with cooking but with ample portions, earning customer favor and sending Hutter to college.
Eisenhower’s highway broke the traditional American train companies’ monopoly on cross-state logistics, injecting new vitality into America’s economy.
But, this extraordinary general Commander from the Republican Party was actually a master proficient in authoritarianism and palace politics, knowing when to be tough, and when to be flexible.
Hutter would sometimes lament with his closest friends, America’s best Great Commander is always the past Great Commander.
