Chapter 249 - 250: This Prince is Not Feeling Well
Chapter 249: Chapter 250: This Prince is Not Feeling Well
Ye Yunting’s expression was frighteningly cold.
Zhuang Muyan, with his head down, walked out of the room and immediately saw Chu Nanli coming towards him.
"Why have you just come out?" Chu Nanli asked with some worry.
She had been worried that Ye Yunting would give Zhuang Muyan a hard time for taking so long to deliver the medicine.
"Master, the Prince just said that he wants you to go there."
Zhuang Muyan’s expression turned somewhat unsightly, "If you don’t wish to go, Master, I will go back and refuse."
As Zhuang Muyan said this, he grew more regretful, hating himself for not being powerful enough to stand up against Ye Yunting.
Chu Nanli also noticed the troubled look on Zhuang Muyan’s face.
She smiled and patted Zhuang Muyan on the shoulder, "It’s okay, it’s just a walk."
Ye Yunting wanted to see her, perhaps he was feeling unwell.
"Wait for me outside, I’ll return and teach you afterwards," Chu Nanli said.
After speaking, she pushed open the door and strode into Ye Yunting’s room.
"Creak—" a sound.
As the door opened, a beam of light shone in.
Chu Nanli walked in, as if she was walking in with the light itself.
It made Ye Yunting’s eyes light up.
He carefully examined Chu Nanli.
Today she wore a plain aqua robe with her hair simply tied up with a pin, dangling white moon-shaped earrings, and her skin was fair and flawless. Even with little adornment, she was extraordinarily beautiful.
It had been a long time since he looked at Chu Nanli this way and discovered that even in such a simple and clean attire, she was stunningly radiant.
"What do you need from me?" Chu Nanli gently approached Ye Yunting and took the initiative to ask.
Her voice was crisp, like the clear water of a brook, beautiful to the ear, but her tone was indifferent, devoid of any emotion.
Ye Yunting unconsciously furrowed his brow.
"Nothing."
Chu Nanli’s eyes widened slightly, "Nothing?"
Why had Ye Yunting called for her if there was no reason?
Ye Yunting also realized that his response seemed inappropriate. He cleared his throat and said indifferently, "I called you here to rest."
"To rest here?" Chu Nanli’s eyes widened in complete disbelief, suspecting she had heard wrong.
Since when had Ye Yunting’s relationship with her become so good that he would allow her to rest in his room?
"Mhm, you can lie on the small couch and sleep for a while," Ye Yunting said in a muffled voice.
Chu Nanli looked at the small couch beside his bed and opened her mouth wide in surprise.
She remembered that there hadn’t been a small couch here the last time she came in.
So when had Ye Yunting prepared it?
Ye Yunting observed Chu Nanli’s surprised look, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly.
Was she this pleased and surprised by a mere invitation from him?
She indeed still liked to sleep beside him.
"I have already instructed someone to make it up, you can rest directly," Ye Yunting said in a deep voice.
Chu Nanli didn’t know what to say for a moment.
She had no idea why Ye Yunting had such a whim; given their relationship, how could she possibly sleep next to Ye Yunting?
"I am not tired and do not need to rest," Chu Nanli said firmly.
Ye Yunting’s brows furrowed slightly, "Are you sure?"
His voice carried a hint of coldness, and his handsome face seemed to be covered with a layer of frost.
"Mhm." Chu Nanli nodded and, after thinking a moment, added, "Prince, I have other things to do. If there’s nothing here, I will take my leave."
She tried to use a gentle tone, as she didn’t want to fall out with Ye Yunting.
After all, Ye Yunting had extended the offer with good intentions, so her attitude wasn’t that harsh.
It was clear to Ye Yunting that Chu Nanli was making excuses.
She clearly just didn’t want to stay.
Realizing this, his heart felt uncomfortably numb.
"All right. I still need to check on the other patients, you should rest for a while." Chu Nanli said softly.
Having said that, she turned to leave.
"Wait."
Ye Yunting furrowed his brows and closed his eyes, "Don’t go, the Prince is uncomfortable."
"Uncomfortable?" Chu Nanli was slightly puzzled.
"You just took your medicine, how could you be uncomfortable so quickly?"
"Would the Prince deceive you?" Ye Yunting said darkly.
Chu Nanli turned back, approached Ye Yunting, first touched his forehead, then checked his pulse.
"It’s still a bit hot, but the pulse is much better now..."
"But the Prince is still uncomfortable, you stay and take care of the Prince," Ye Yunting said.
Chu Nanli: "..."
She now seriously suspected that Ye Yunting was feigning illness.
However, she didn’t expose him. If Ye Yunting said he was uncomfortable, then it was her job to treat him.
She fed Ye Yunting some painkiller again, then found a cool towel and laid it on his forehead.
When the cool touch came in contact to the skin, Ye Yunting felt very comfortable, and the restlessness in his heart also subsided significantly.
His eyebrows gradually relaxed, and his complexion became more serene.
Seeing that Ye Yunting had finally calmed down, Chu Nanli breathed a sigh of relief.
She then wiped the palm of Ye Yunting’s hand.
About a quarter of an hour later, she changed his towel again.
During this process, Ye Yunting experienced an unprecedented comfort and relaxation. He yearned for this feeling and even wanted it to continue indefinitely.
"Chu Nanli, after leaving the palace, shall we live a good life?" Ye Yunting said softly, his voice more gentle than ever before.
Chu Nanli was taken aback.
She felt Ye Yunting had been acting strange these days.
Their relationship was almost at a point of no return. How could he say such a thing?
"Ye Yunting, I will move out after leaving the palace. You promised," Chu Nanli said, frowning slightly.
Ye Yunting was stunned.
He suddenly remembered indeed promising Chu Nanli that she could move out.
But it didn’t matter if she moved out; he could follow her.
"Hmm, take good care of the Prince these next few days, or else forget about it," Ye Yunting said in a deep voice.
Hearing Ye Yunting’s words, Chu Nanli clenched her back teeth!
Damn dog of a man!
Inside, she cursed Ye Yunting hundreds of times, and her movements wiping his hand became a bit rougher.
"If the Prince is uncomfortable, you can call the Concubine to attend to your sickness," Chu Nanli said through gritted teeth.
She had other matters to attend to; where would she find the excess energy to care for Ye Yunting?
Ye Yunting was so fond of Lin Fuying, shouldn’t he want Lin Fuying to take care of him?
Ye Yunting frowned, "No need."
He didn’t need Lin Fuying’s care.
Besides, hadn’t Chu Nanli always disliked him getting close to Lin Fuying?
Chu Nanli pursed her lips. Was this because he was afraid of tiring his beloved Concubine, or afraid of passing smallpox to Lin Fuying?
Ye Yunting truly cared for Lin Fuying.
"Rest assured, Prince, your illness will be healed in no more than two days," Chu Nanli said indifferently.
Ye Yunting wasn’t going to recover that fast, but to stop Ye Yunting from annoying her, she could fetch some special medicine from her space.
"Hmm." Ye Yunting responded faintly.
For some reason, he found himself hoping he wouldn’t recover too quickly.
"The Prince should rest for a while," Chu Nanli said finally, after she wiped Ye Yunting’s palm one last time.
As her gentle fingers withdrew from his palm,Ye Yunting felt a sensation of emptiness.
