Chapter 231: Chapter 232 Plastic Feelings
"If you don’t leave now, once Consort Yang Shu’s palace doors close, you really won’t have anywhere to go." Zhuang Muyan reminded her, but his tone carried a hint of warning.
Only then did Lin Fuying reluctantly turn around to leave, following Consort Yang Shu.
Even though she was unwilling, she had no way to take Ye Yunting out with her.
"Hold on," Chu Nanli suddenly spoke up.
Lin Fuying’s heart leapt with joy, thinking there might still be a chance for reprieve. She turned back to Chu Nanli and asked, "What is it?"
"If you really want to see your Brother Yunting that badly, it’s not impossible," Chu Nanli paused, a smile appearing on her face.
Lin Fuying eagerly asked, "What way?"
"You could come in and accompany Ye Yunting," Chu Nanli said with a smile.
Lin Fuying’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly said, "That, that’s not necessary..."
She did want to accompany Ye Yunting, but she didn’t dare to risk her life.
That was smallpox after all; if she really caught it, Chu Nanli certainly wouldn’t treat her, she would just let her wait for death.
After all, she almost hated herself to death.
"Not necessary? Aren’t you worried about your Brother Yunting? Why don’t you take the opportunity I’m giving you to visit him?" Chu Nanli teased.
She actually wanted Lin Fuying to come in and take care of Ye Yunting, so she wouldn’t need to, and it would save her a great deal of effort.
"No, Yingying really wants to see Brother, but Yingying is not well; I’m afraid I would only add to the chaos if I went," Lin Fuying stammered.
"That won’t happen; we have doctors here. You won’t be in any danger," Chu Nanli said. "You’re so worried about Ye Yunting, just come in. Don’t just share the good times; we must face difficulties together!"
"I..."
Lin Fuying frowned in speechlessness.
Chu Nanli was definitely doing this on purpose!
"I still won’t trouble sister. I need to catch up to Mother Consort," she said.
With that, Lin Fuying quickly turned and ran off, as fast as she could, amusing Chu Nanli to the point she almost laughed out loud.
"Haha, I thought she cared a lot about Ye Yunting. I didn’t expect her feelings to be so fake," she said.
"You shouldn’t speak of Yingying that way."
Just as Chu Nanli finished laughing, Ye Yunting’s deep voice came from behind her.
It looked like he had been standing in the courtyard for a while.
"What, have you been here all along? How much did you hear?" Chu Nanli asked.
She wanted to know; if Ye Yunting knew how Lin Fuying was currently avoiding him at all costs, what would his reaction be?
She stared unblinkingly at Ye Yunting’s stern face, seeing his gaze as calm as an ancient well, without the slightest change.
"You do not need to know."
Chu Nanli snorted.
Presumably, Ye Yunting heard everything, and yet he didn’t blame the hypocritical Lin Fuying, instead taking up for her.
It seemed Ye Yunting viewed Lin Fuying through rose-tinted glasses.
Really, is love blind?
"What are you doing here?" Chu Nanli inquired.
Ye Yunting paused for a moment and then said in a deep voice, "Bai Wuheng seems to have contracted smallpox. Go check on him."
His tone carried an undeniable command.
Chu Nanli frowned slightly.
She didn’t like the feeling of being ordered around.
Originally, she might have considered saving Bai Wuheng.
But being forcefully requested by Ye Yunting made her rather disinclined to do so.
After all, Bai Wuheng was one of the accomplices who had harmed her child.
Although she healed the sick and helped the injured, she did not save just anyone.
"I will not go," Chu Nanli said softly.
"What did you say?" Ye Yunting instantly became furious, his fierce eyes glaring at Chu Nanli.
Chu Nanli was also a bit angry.
"I said I won’t go!"
