Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Earning a Huge Amount of Money Daily

In the afternoon, Chu Nanli went alone to the Tianji Pavilion to inquire about the token matter, only to learn that there were still no definitive clues.

Chu Nanli felt disappointed but could do nothing about it.

The Tianji Pavilion was already the most well-informed intelligence-gathering organization in the land; if they couldn’t find the information, there was no use in fretting.

Fortunately, she now had the backing of the Bright Moon Building’s business, unlike in the beginning when she was alone and unsupported.

After leaving Tianji Pavilion, Chu Nanli disguised herself as Jin Nan and visited the Bright Moon Building.

Upon reaching the entrance, she noticed many stools placed on both sides of the building, each one occupied by a mix of men and women.

Chu Nanli’s expression paused slightly.

Isn’t this... a waiting list?

She walked over and sure enough, was stopped at the door.

"Young master, the Bright Moon Building is currently full of guests and cannot accommodate any more. If you wish, you can wait outside in line," said the doorman.

Chu Nanli thought to herself that it indeed was a "waiting list" system.

Xinlian truly was a clever girl to come up with this method.

As she was thinking this, she heard people around her talking.

"This queuing system is really interesting; it’s my first time encountering it."

"In my opinion, only the Bright Moon Building could do something like this. Other places don’t have the same appeal to make us willingly sit on these hard stools and wait."

"Hahaha, naturally. Since the Spring Banquet, the Bright Moon Building has been bustling, almost like a new threshold has been set."

Chu Nanli was listening intently when she heard someone calling her from the side.

"Mas... Young master."

Chu Nanli turned around and saw Xiangyang, towering and bulky, wearing a mask.

The door-greeter, curious, asked, "Young Master Xiangyang, do you know this young master?"

Xiangyang looked at Chu Nanli, knowing that she didn’t want to reveal her identity as the owner of the Bright Moon Building, and unsure of how to address her, simply nodded his head.

"He’s here to see me and Xinlian."

Chu Nanli was led inside by Xiangyang.

Once in the backyard, Xiangyang hurriedly bowed in respect.

"Subordinate has seen the master."

"No need for formalities, I mainly came to have a look and then to ask Chu Yi for help with something."

"Understood. Chu Yi is still outside and will return later, while Xinlian is upstairs checking the account books," Xiangyang reported.

Upon hearing the words "account books," Chu Nanli’s eyes twinkled.

"Let’s go to Xinlian first."

"Yes, I’ll take you to her," responded Xiangyang.

When the door was pushed open, indeed, Xinlian was perusing the account books.

Seeing Chu Nanli, joy was clearly etched on Xinlian’s face.

"Master, what brings you here? I was planning to have Chu Yi visit you later to report on the situation in the building," Xinlian exclaimed.

Chu Nanli joked, "Great minds think alike, so I came myself."

Xinlian quickly offered her a seat and brought her some water before excitedly saying, "Yesterday, the Bright Moon Building’s revenue doubled compared to previous days, it’s truly making a ’pot of gold’ daily. I couldn’t believe the account books when I saw them."

As she spoke, she handed the account books to Chu Nanli.

Chu Nanli took them and started to flip through.

She wasn’t really adept at reading account books; in her previous life, she had always been careless with money. Whenever she needed any medicinal ingredients or equipment, without having to file a report, she would just have to say it, and by the next day everything would be in place.

However, the account book prepared by Xinlian was extremely beautiful, which allowed her to easily understand where the money was going and how much was being specifically brought in.

Seeing the string of revenues, and the total revenue calculated in gold, Chu Nanli’s smile turned upwards with delight.

Xinlian, watching her, breathed a sigh of relief and felt a sincere sense of accomplishment for being recognized.

"It’s even better than I imagined, I wasn’t wrong about you," Chu Nanli generously complimented.

Just then, Xiangyang, who had been waiting at the door, conveyed a message, "Master, Chu Yi has returned."

Chu Nanli said, "Let him in."
