Mummy Evolution -
Chapter 138 - 138: New Type of Fight
Sett and Faceless appeared inside the B-tier Tomb, both immediately wary.
The world inside was a totally different world. In fact, it was so different from the usual—even Sett was surprised for a few moments. He was, after all, standing on top of fluffy white clouds.
He walked forward, feeling the fluffiness under his foot.
"I sense a powerful distortion in space some distance away—on that darker cloud northwards."
Sett nodded, preparing himself for battle.
"Master, aren't you being too wary? We are just going to be fighting a Tier 3 enemy, and with me and you working together, what kind of Tier 3 could even hope to win against us?"
"Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. It will be annoying if we have to face someone with a True Form."
Faceless opened a gateway directly connecting to the center of the cloud island. Sett walked in cautiously, his consciousness focused on preparing his skills for any circumstance.
"The enemy has a trap prepared for us," Faceless said.
Sett was confident in breaking this trap, so he did not stop.
Immediately after walking past the cloudline, Sett's body froze. Faceless, who had followed right after, froze as well. Tendrils of lightning buzzed through their bodies, making their fine hairs stand on end.
But Sett's golden eyes were calm.
This is the power of an Axiom. But I have never seen a land made of clouds in Ehyut. Does my world really have places like this?
There was always more things to see and learn.
Electricity crackled around them.
The scouting troop Sett had sent beforehand consisted of beings of immense physical power, but they'd all died soon after entering. There was not even much of any markings of their existence in this cloud island anymore. That meant whatever had killed the troops were at least stronger than your average Tier 3.
Now that he sensed the electric tendrils, though, Sett was more confident. They had walked into a tomb designed to challenge something entirely outside the scope of mere physical strength to handle. It was no wonder his army was defeated.
Tzzz!!!
The power of lightning.
A spear made of lightning tore through the air, right at Sett's temples.
Fwoosh.
A small dimensional gate appeared right on time and swallowed the attack, making it explode somewhere else.
Sett smiled. "Good job, Faceless."
"Master could have moved away if he wanted."
"Seems like the owner of this cloud paradise is impatient," Sett said. "Can you sense any other inhabitants in this place?"
"Master, they are hidden inside another layer of the clouds. They must have evacuated when they saw the scouting troops."
"Whoever that just attacked was not weak, he is troublesome. Keep a keen eye."
"Master, the hidden enemy who threw that lightning is exactly at northern direction, 120 angle from you."
Sett did not bother with pleasantries.
His body flashed and he appeared in the middle of the dark clouds, looking straight at an enemy some distance away—a young human male of about 20 years old. He had a cold, calloused expression that defied his age, and his blood red eyes were full of indifference.
Sett immediately understood that this was a tough nut to crack.
The youth asked: "Are you the one who sent his troops to attack the cloud kingdom?"
Sett shrugged. "Not really. I just happened to see them and followed."
"Lies!"
The youth walked forward, a trident made of lightning slowly generating itself in his charged grip.
Sett sneered, though inwardly, his heart began beating wildly.
A Tier 3 Axiom Holder!
Tier 1 unlocked 5 basic abilities of an Axiom Holder.
Tier 2 gave the Axiom Holder a True Form that removed most of the innate weaknesses of the 5 abilities.
What about Tier 3?
Tier 3 was different, it was way more dangerous than Tier 2 Axiom Holders.
Why?
It was because of a single power exclusive to Tier 3 Axiom Holders.
AXIOM ARMAMENT.
The Trident made cold sweat bead down Sett's back.
"I don't know who you are, or why you send troops into this kingdom of mine. But now that you have entered, you can stay."
The mans' body transformed into a pure elemental chaos of lightning and thunder. He began to charge up. His physique began to change.
Axiom of Lightning—True Form, Chaotic Lightning Avatar!
It was a true form that granted its user a body made of lightning. A body that was faster than the eye could catch up, a body that was capable of sending soul shocking shockwaves into the enemy's soul with each punch.
Should I enter my True Form?
Sett hesitated.
His own True Form was definitely strong—in fact, he was unkillable in the Deathless Form. But he would be exhausted for hours after he uses it.
With Faceless to protect me, it is not that bad.
"Faceless, watch and adapt. Do not use your True Form, we cannot have you exhaust yourself."
After all, Faceless was Sett's ticket to escape from the Lord Guardian or any other threats.
Sett's skin slowly turned pure void blue.
His eyes vanished.
A pair of eyes appeared on the back of his palm.
True Form—Deathless.
A body that reflected all the damage done to it back to the attacker. A body that made others get debuffed drastically. And a body that healed at impossibly rapid pace.
That was Deathless.
Since it reflected all the damage done to it, it was nearly impossible to hurt easily. Since it healed so quickly, even if it was hurt, it wouldn't suffer for much longer. Since it debuffed its enemies—enemies could never fight it at their full strength.
The moment Deathless appeared, the Chaotic Lightning Avatar stiffened. It felt threat amp through its heart and bones.
Even Faceless felt reverence.
This was the unkilleable monster that had killed Faceless.
And since Sett already had so much Territory, using Tier 2 abilities were easy. Unlike how he fought Faceless with a broken Mental Space.
Both True Forms just analayzed each other, gauging, assuming fighting stance.
Then, Sett sneered and his body reverted back into normal.
An invisible fist plunched into the lightning user's skull, though sadly—it just passed through it.
And Silver, who had just attacked, sizzled as his soul felt a burning sensation all over.
Sett pulled the energy of the dead and fueled it towards Silver, helping him heal.
Soul attacks?
Annoying.
Of course he was not as foolish as this lightning Axiom Holder.
Who directly used their finishing attacks at the start?
No way was he going to use Deathless so stupidly.
That was stupid beyond measure.
First, you gauge your enemy with your physical strength. Second, you spar with normal abilities. Then, only if you had no other choice do you use your trump cards.
Sett's eyes focused on the enemy's weapon.
That Armament is an issue.
Other fighters would have to soar until they figured out what the ability of the Armament was, but Sett did not need to go through such hassle. He had the system.
He analyzed using it.
A weapon that could make a person slower with each cut. Until the person loses all their speed and becomes a turtle.
Interesting.
Sett grinned.
"Master, he is untouched," Faceless warned. "Should I make a move?"
Sett grunted in rejection.
Meanwhile, the Lightning User became even more wary of the two opponents in front of it. It had not even been able to see what had just attacked it.
Sett decided to play a little trick.
Silver, I am giving authority over 10 kilometers of land in my Inner Tomb to you: Use It!
For a normal person, a mere 10 kilometer of land would awaken their True Form.
Sett's Axiom was just too powerful due to being a Tier 5 version, and he needed more Territory due to that. Needing 100 kilometers just to use a True Form.
Silver awakened his True Form.
Sett did not know what it was.
It was hard to see Silver even for him. Even while knowing exactly where Silver was!
Then, Sett thought in his mind.
Burrhen, I am giving you a 100 kilometers of land. Unlock your Axiom Armament.
Inside his Inner Tomb, Lord Burrhen shivered.
It walked out of Sett's back and stood facing the Lightning Avatar.
A grin appeared on Burrhen's face.
Then—two bloody fangs appeared on his mouth.
Axiom Armament—
Wyrm's Fang.
Fangs so corroding that it could temporarily make anyone bitten by it become incapable of healing their own injuries.
It's a good Armament but it is not useful against the Lightning User.
Sett looked at Faceless. "Faceless, I give you a hundred kilometers of land."
"This servant is honored, Master."
Axiom Armament—
Dimensional Necklace.
A necklace that could store energy.
