"William, does Zoe look nice in the outfit she’s wearing? I picked it out," Lily said with a smile.

William Hale nodded, his tone indifferent, "Your taste has always been excellent."

His voice was placid,

but the way he looked at her was far from innocent.

"Oh, Brock, I also brought something for you guys." Lily began distributing her spoils of war, and even Zac Cruz and Kyle Lowe received some trinkets. Naturally, Brock Hale and William Hale both got something.

On the side, Wyatt Hale was excited for a while.

"Mom, what about mine?"

"Didn’t Zoe just take you shopping when you arrived in Greenland? What more do you want?"

"..."

Wyatt Hale muttered under his breath: "You’re playing favorites."

"You’ve never liked what I buy, saying I can’t keep up with the trends, so I simply won’t buy anything at all."

Everyone had a share, except for Wyatt Hale, who sulked on the couch, not saying a word. That was until Lily Lott approached him and whispered, "Alright, stop frowning. You’re an adult, yet you’re acting like a child."

"As for your living expenses, if your dad won’t give them to you, I will."

Wyatt Hale’s eyes lit up: "Ms. Lott, you are like a fairy descending from the heavens!"

"Get lost—"

While Wyatt Hale bickered with his parents downstairs, Zoe Bell returned to her room to sort out her clothes, having indeed bought too much today. William Hale followed her in.

He just sat in a chair, staring at her.

In his hand, he flicked his lighter, "Click—" A flame shot up, and the sparks seemed to burn into his eyes.

"Zoe." His voice was slightly hoarse.

Zoe Bell looked at him with suspicion.

William Hale beckoned her with his hand, and as she drew closer, he tightened his grip on her wrist, pulling her onto his lap.

He had already put down the lighter, and his fingers rested on her waist.

Friction, a light caress.

The increasingly intense touch made her body tense up.

Zoe Bell subconsciously bit her lip, her eyelashes quivered, "Mr. Hale?"

"Quitting smoking is tough."

Zoe Bell knew quitting smoking wasn’t easy and figured it must be uncomfortable, "So, what should we do?"

She really wanted to say:

There’s no need to quit smoking just for her.

"Let’s start with a hug," William Hale said as he held her.

Soon, he was no longer satisfied with just that. He lowered his head and gently nibbled at her neck, making her shiver involuntarily.

With each kiss and caress, Zoe Bell always felt overwhelmed, fidgeting restlessly. The clothes, already close-fitting, highlighted her curves in a provocative manner.

Her entire being was pure yet seductive.

"The outfit looks very nice, and it suits you," William Hale said, his voice raspy.

"Thank you."

As he spoke, his voice was close, his breaths warm and tickling, sending shivers down her spine, and his fingers gently stroked her waist again. When he leaned in to kiss her, his kisses were urgent.

Urgent enough to make her breathing difficult, her eyes slightly red.

Zoe Bell always admired William Hale for appearing calm and collected, no matter how flustered she felt.

Sometimes, his clothes would be perfectly unruffled.

That feeling was as if he could withdraw at any moment.

After kissing for a while, Zoe Bell finally got off his lap and only after she finished packing did she speak to him, "Lucas called me today, asking me to bring all necessary documents day after tomorrow to annul the adoption."

William Hale nodded, "I’ll drive you there."

"He said he would come to pick me up."

"I’ll drive you!"

"It’s too much trouble, you’re already so busy."

"It’s on the way."

"..."

"Have Kyle Lowe bring a lawyer with you, just in case the Bell family demands compensation for the many years of upbringing, there will be someone to help you."

Zoe Bell nodded, feeling that William Hale had given it more thought.

**

Two days later, outside the adoption registration agency, Lucas Bell waited for his sister. His gaze once again clashed with that of Mr. Hale, the man rumored to be "gentle and considerate."

His eyes were sharp, revealing a cutting edge.

Not a hint of gentleness to be seen.

Kyle Lowe, born with a naturally stern face, followed behind with a lawyer, staying close behind the brother and sister.

His boss had already instructed him that if Mr. and Mrs. Bell tried any tricks, he was to make decisions on the fly.

If this Lucas Bell made any move on his lady.

He was told not to hold back!

Break his legs, and his boss would take care of the compensation!

"Sis, this Mr. Hale is really nice to you, even personally bringing you here," said Lucas Bell, his skin too pale, looking bloodless under the sunlight, and frail of face.

"He just happened to have work nearby and it was on his way."

Lucas Bell clicked his tongue, "You believe that?"

"..."

Seeing his sister at a loss for words, Lucas Bell laughed aloud.

Not far away, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Bell saw them talking and laughing, nearly bursting with anger, Vivi Lange’s eyes even reddening, while Kevin’s whole body trembled, his chest heaving violently, yet he forced himself to stay calm.

After Lucas Bell returned home, he was blunt with them, but became a different person when he saw Zoe.

The Bell family’s ordeal had caused quite a stir. When the workers at the Civil Affairs Bureau saw them come together to dissolve the adoption, they were somewhat taken aback.

The expressions on Mr. and Mrs. Bell’s faces clearly showed their reluctance.

But when asked if they agreed to dissolve the adoption, they nodded their consent.

"Why do you want to dissolve the relationship?" The worker asked as a matter of routine.

Zoe Bell: "The relationship has deteriorated, and it’s impossible to live together anymore."

"After all, they did raise you, and they are not young anymore, so..." Dissolving adoptions usually involves some haggling at the end, often over money.

"I will give them a lump sum covering the cost of raising me over the years, along with future eldercare expenses, based on the cost of living in Greenland."

Zoe Bell originally didn’t want to give them any eldercare expenses, but was advised by her lawyer to do so.

That way, whether they wanted to cause trouble over eldercare in the future or to press her with public opinion, calling her an ingrate, they would have no chance.

Once an agreement was drafted and both parties voluntarily had no objections, signing and thumbprinting, and officially dissolving the relationship in the civil system,

She and the Bell family...

would completely clear the boundaries!

From then on, they would have nothing to do with each other.

"Sis, I’ve packed up all your stuff at home, including certificates and trophies, Passport Card. You come back with me, and the car is parked outside. I’ll give you the things," Lucas Bell said.

If it were just clothes, Zoe Bell wouldn’t care.

Certificates and trophies were hard-earned, and no matter whether she could continue dancing in the future or not, they were precious memories to her.

She nodded in agreement.

On the way to the Bell family’s home, she called Wyatt Hale.

She hadn’t expected the process to go so smoothly, her tone much lighter.

"Congratulations," Wyatt Hale’s voice was still unhurried.

"Thank you."

"When you have time, we should go get our marriage certificate," Wyatt Hale had been waiting for too long.

A marriage agreement, and going to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get the marriage certificate, legally becoming her legitimate and only husband, definitely carried different meanings.

Zoe Bell nodded in agreement.

"About the wedding, do you have any thoughts?" Wyatt Hale, fiddling with his lighter, suddenly asked.

Wedding?

Zoe Bell really hadn’t thought about it; she felt that the two of them were just marrying by agreement, staging a play, with mutual benefits, and never considered having a wedding.

"Mrs. Hale, it seems you’ve forgotten what I’ve said before."

"I don’t like leaving flaws for others to exploit."

Acting... also has to be absolutely convincing.

Wyatt Hale’s voice was low: "If you agree, I’d like to do it as soon as possible."
