Chapter 458: 456 Trash delivered to the door? Send her off again (2 more updates)

"Cressida, long time no see." Michale Shaw is quite the familiar type.

"How did you get here?"

"Buying flowers."

"For a girl? What stage is the relationship at? I can recommend some for you."

"For my mom."

Cressida was taken aback, "Is it your aunt’s birthday?"

"Not really. I managed to scare off my blind date today, and I’m probably in for a beating when I get home, so I’m planning to buy flowers to apologize," Michale Shaw said, pointing to a bunch of flowers, "That one will do, help me make a bouquet."

His New Year was not going well at all.

In the past, when it came to blind dates, he could shove William Hale in front to block for a bit, but now that guy is about to become a dad, so naturally, as a perennial singleton, Michale Shaw just has bad luck.

Sometimes Michale Shaw feels suffocated and challenges his family, "Am I just a tool for marriage?"

The family all give him the same look, as if saying:

You are just a tool!

"Actually, I’ve tried dating, but all those women were after my money, or they liked that I’m handsome and wanted to sleep with me..." Michale Shaw complained.

This caused Cressida and two employees to burst out laughing.

"Don’t laugh, I’m serious," Michale Shaw sighed.

"Over all these years, haven’t you ever met someone you truly liked?" Cressida picked a bunch of flowers for him, trimming the stems and arranging the packaging.

"I have, but I didn’t succeed in pursuing her."

"You’re handsome and wealthy, what girl would reject you?"

"Hannah Johnson."

Cressida’s packing motion paused; Hannah Johnson was famously strong and capable in their circle, and beautiful too. Moreover, during Zoe Payne’s wedding, Hannah Johnson had deliberately called her over to sit by her side and helped her.

So Cressida gave Michale Shaw a look, remembering the mean things someone said during a card game, and said, "Honestly, you’re not good enough for Miss Johnson."

Michale Shaw laughed in annoyance, "Cressida, open your eyes and see clearly. I’m this handsome, how am I not good enough!"

As he spoke, he even deliberately moved closer to Cressida’s face to let her see more clearly.

Cressida stepped back two steps, keeping her distance.

"Are you despising me?" Michale Shaw retorted.

"Our Cressida has a boyfriend, she definitely needs to keep her distance from you," the clerk laughed.

"Boyfriend?" Michale Shaw perked up at that, instantly curious, "Who is he? Do I know him?"

After all, she had just called off her engagement at the start of the year, and so quickly having a boyfriend, he was definitely curious.

"That’s my personal matter, it has nothing to do with you."

"Although we’ve only met once before, you can trust me, I have a good eye for people. You just got out of one mess, you should be careful dating again."

"With so many jerks around, being pretty and a rich miss, you’ll inevitably encounter those with ulterior motives!"

"When you have time, bring him over for me to meet, I’ll help you check him out."

Cressida, uninterested, handed him the flowers and pointed at a QR code to the side, "These are imported flowers, and since we know each other, I’ll give you a discount. It’s 250 in total, pay up."

250?

He suspected Cressida was subtly mocking him.

Michale Shaw still reminded her, "Dating is fine, but make sure to protect your assets, don’t let a jerk cheat you out of your body, heart, or money."

"Just go," Cressida pushed him out, really noisy.

"I’m serious..."

Cressida finally managed to send the guy away, and let out a breath of relief. He was so noisy; when he opened his mouth, he was even noisier than a dozen birds Uncle Yates raised.

Their interaction, seen by Lavinia Wilde, was no different from flirtatious banter; she even intentionally took a photo.

Initially, Silas Jones and she discussed bringing Cressida Jones back to the Jones family to arrange a marriage, but she was very reluctant; now, she copes effortlessly between two men, really holding and standing her ground.

It’s probably not reluctance, but rather high standards, seeking to climb the social ladder.

Payne Family, Shaw Family...

With such a big appetite, she’s not afraid of overdoing it!

**

The next day was the Payne Family’s banquet, and the temperature suddenly dropped to below ten degrees Celsius, so the Hale Family set out early to reach the hotel.

Unexpectedly, Michale Shaw was also there, accompanied by the Elder Mrs. and Mr. Shaw.

Seeing William Hale and Zoe Payne so affectionately together, and then noticing that their own grandson had already joined Wyatt Hale, laughing uproariously about some gossip, the Elder Mrs. and Mr. Payne just felt a headache coming on.

Then they spotted Hannah Johnson and Isaac Shea arriving.

William Hale greeted them proactively, "Sister, Brother-in-law."

Then, the two soon-to-be fathers warmly exchanged a few words, and Michale Shaw, thinking there was some gossip, also joined in. The conversation turned to baby topics, which he listened to with great interest.

The Elder Mrs. and Mr. Shaw sighed repeatedly, while Old Sir Hale reassured them, "What’s the rush? This just means Michale’s fate hasn’t arrived yet."

"If he really meets someone he likes, it will be settled soon."

"Forget it, as long as this kid doesn’t cause me any trouble, that’s good enough. His mind is always on how to make money. Apart from pursuing Hannah during his school days, there was also the time he drunkenly forced a kiss on a boy..."

Speaking of this incident, Old Sir Shaw frowned and said in a low voice to his old friend, "Do you think Michale could be into men?"

Old Sir Hale couldn’t hold back and almost spat out his tea, "Don’t talk nonsense."

"I’m serious. The places he frequents aren’t limited to just men. I could understand a kiss with a woman, but why aggressively kiss a young man? Then he got beaten up so badly he was left with a bruised and swollen face; it’s simply disgraceful."

"Michale pursued Hannah, that indicates he likes girls; don’t overthink it."

In the midst of their conversation, the Payne Family Members also arrived.

The guests gradually entered the private room, all familiar faces, making the atmosphere quite pleasant.

"Has she arrived yet?" Julia Yates asked her brother.

Martin Yates nodded, "I just gave her a call, and she said she’s already on the way."

Cressida Jones closed the flower shop early and went home to pick up her grandmother to go to the hotel. Despite setting aside plenty of time, they were delayed by the evening rush hour but managed to arrive in time.

The two also brought many gifts. After parking the car, they hurried into the hotel but were stopped in the lobby.

The person wore a mask and sunglasses, but even so, Cressida recognized her at a glance —

Lavinia Wilde!

The smile on her grandmother’s face also disappeared instantly.

It was this woman who ruined her daughter’s marriage and even provoked them by visiting during her cancer treatment under the guise of concern. This wicked woman, she could recognize even if she turned to ashes.

"What are you doing here!" Her grandmother, frail and elderly, instinctively shielded Cressida behind her, "I’m warning you, stay away from Cressida."

"You seem to have forgotten how your daughter died," Lavinia Wilde removed her sunglasses, playing with them in her hand.

"Poor thing, toiled for the Jones Family, yet was kicked to the curb by Silas Jones. Do you know what Silas Jones said about her in front of me?"

Lavinia Wilde moved closer to the grandmother, lowering her voice, "He said he treated her as a free nanny, a tool for having children. It costs money to find a woman outside, but playing with her...didn’t cost a penny."

"You say, wasn’t she quite cheap!"

"You vile woman!" Losing a child is the greatest sorrow of one’s life; the grandmother finally couldn’t hold back and raised her hand to hit her.

Lavinia Wilde staggered and fell to the ground, covering her face, crying out in pain, "Why are you hitting people?"

Everything happened very quickly, and just as Logan Hale’s bodyguard was about to step forward to check the situation,

The next second,

Several people rushed up, holding their phones aimed at Cressida and her grandmother, seemingly conducting a live broadcast.

Cressida was annoyed, knowing that Lavinia would cause trouble after showing up, but didn’t expect her to pick this day.

Lavinia adorns a pained and shocked expression on her face, yet inside she is overjoyed:

To leave them destitute and disgraced.

Thinking they could escape unscathed?

Not a chance!

Despite being annoyed, Cressida wasn’t afraid of her, signaling the bodyguard to come forward and whispered a few instructions, and the female bodyguard quickly left.

She even gave Lavinia a smile.

That smile sent chills down Lavinia’s spine.

Recalling the night she was drugged last year, she had smiled at her in the same way:

As if, she was leading her to a dead end!"
