Mrs Hale, I Surrender -
Chapter 445: There are many peach blossoms, trying every possible way to get her.
Chapter 445: There are many peach blossoms, trying every possible way to get her.
Tim Payne probably caught a chill that night, plus the cold shower he took late at night, he felt unwell during the night and developed a fever. While talking, a doctor and a nurse knocked on the door and entered.
"Junior President Payne, how are you feeling today?" The doctor approached the bed with a gentle and soft voice.
Cressida Jones couldn’t help but turn her head to take a look.
Under thirty, he was very handsome, soft eyes tender as water when he looked at Tim Payne.
"Not bad," Tim Payne’s tone was lukewarm.
"Eat lighter meals recently, avoid smoking and drinking, and a good rest for a couple of days should do the trick."
Tim Payne nodded.
"I’m on duty today, so if you’re feeling unwell at any time, just look for me..." As the doctor left, he also politely said goodbye to Martin Yates and Zoe Payne.
Cressida Jones lowered her gaze, just smiling as she took a cup of hot water from Martin Yates’ hand and held it in her own, while Zoe Payne whispered to her, "This doctor once had a matchmaking date with my brother."
"Ever since my brother was hospitalized, he’s been coming around more often than me, his own sister."
"Zoe Payne!" Tim Payne’s gaze fell on Cressida Jones, reminding his sister not to talk anymore.
Martin Yates raised an eyebrow, "What Zoe says is true, why are you yelling at her?"
Yelling?
He was speaking at a normal volume!
"But you’re not getting any younger, you should give some serious thought to your lifelong matters. Love at first sight is common, but for a lasting relationship, having shared values is important, and that requires getting to know someone better."
"The matches your mother sets up for you are all carefully chosen; she believes they’re suitable for you. Don’t dismiss them all at once, give them a chance and you might find someone you really click with."
...
Martin Yates went on for quite a while, but seeing no reaction from his nephew, he frowned, "Why aren’t you talking?"
"Uncle, I just find you’ve been pretty strange lately."
"What’s strange?"
"You talk too much."
Uncle used to barely acknowledge him with a glance, and if they talked, it was usually about work. What was going on recently? Could it be he’s been spending too much time with parrots, and now he’s possessed, trying to come off as gentle and caring, attentive to the younger generation?
They’ve known each other for over thirty years, who doesn’t know who?
What’s with the act?
When Martin Yates heard this he scowled, his gaze flickering to Cressida Jones; seeing that she had no reaction, he glared fiercely at his nephew.
He was born with a stern face, with a deep scar on his neck that had affected his vocal cords, giving his voice a naturally hoarse and rough quality, an innate intimidating presence. If he recognized Cressida as his daughter, he couldn’t scare the young girl.
Cressida’s real father was a scumbag; Martin Yates thought he should be gentle and be a loving father.
He cleared his throat, "Anyway, if you find a girl you like, take advantage of the holiday to ask her out for a meal or to hang out, get to know each other better."
Tim Payne just nodded.
Martin Yates no longer paid him any heed, turning to Cressida Jones, "Has the flower shop been busy lately?"
"It’s okay."
"I mentioned before, when you’re free, I’ll take you horseback riding, do you want to go?"
"Do you have the time?" Cressida Jones inquired.
"I have plenty of time."
"But I’ve never ridden a horse before..."
Tim Payne pretended to look at his phone, quietly listening. His uncle was really very good to Cressida Jones, and he couldn’t help feeling that there was something odd about it, yet he couldn’t quite put his finger on what.
Meanwhile, Assistant Law knocked on the door and entered, carrying a stack of documents and also brought lunch.
"Let’s go too," Martin Yates stood up, looking towards Zoe Payne and Cressida Jones, "What do you want to eat? I’ll treat you to lunch."
"Uncle Yates, I..." Cressida Jones wanted to decline, but Zoe Payne stopped her, "Let’s go, Uncle is treating, he’s got too much money to spend anyway, let’s pick the most expensive restaurant."
About an hour later, Tim Payne heard Michale Shaw gossiping in a chat group:
[Cressida can really mix it up, when did she get so close with Uncle Yates?]
He also posted a photo of the restaurant.
Cressida Jones was currently very popular in the social circle, everyone wanted a piece of her.
Anyone who saw her would naturally spread the gossip quickly.
——
Soon, the news reached the Jeans Family.
Mrs. Jeans, upon seeing Marigold dining together with Martin Yates and Zoe Payne, and from the photos, it was evident that Martin Yates was especially attentive to her, kicked her son furiously.
"Look at the circle she’s in now! And take another look at that slut and what kind of trash she is!"
Mrs. Jeans was fuming when she spoke of Marigold Jones.
She’s currently staying with the Jeans Family.
The villa that the Jones Family lived in had been put on the market by Cressida Jones, leaving her homeless and without much money. However, she was pregnant and had caused a commotion outside the Jeans Residence on New Year’s Eve, even alarming the police station.
The Jeans Family did not want to lose face, wanting to settle her in a hotel, but she refused, insisting on staying with the Jeans Family.
Who would want to stay in a hotel during the New Year?
"Relying on her big belly, she’s bossing us around and throwing her weight about as if she truly thinks she’s the Jeans Family’s young mistress," Mrs. Jeans grew even more infuriated as she thought about it.
"Weren’t you the one who said you would marry no one but her? Said she was gentle and sensible, particularly understanding?"
Beckett Jeans hung his head in silence.
Marigold Jones was wild in bed, pampering him to his comfort, and naturally, he thought everything about her was great.
"Mom, berating me now is pointless."
Cressida Jones is now mingling with Michale Shaw.
"You should have a good talk with Cressida. She likes you so much, there’s a chance she may change her mind," Mrs. Jeans advised.
"What about Marigold Jones?"
Mrs. Jeans suppressed her voice, "Don’t worry, as long as you get Cressida back, I have my ways of dealing with that wretched girl."
But what they didn’t know was that their conversation had been overheard by Marigold Jones.
To think, they’re still considering that wench Cressida Jones!
If not for her, the Jones Family wouldn’t have fallen apart, and she wouldn’t be out in the streets on New Year’s Eve.
She’s really a vile creature with a rotten heart and black liver. She couldn’t understand how her father had been so enchanted by her. Whatever she said seemed agreeable, even the Payne Family and the Hale Family members were associating with her, unexpectedly...
Does Beckett Jeans really want to rekindle their past relationship?
No way!
She touched her belly; the title of Jeans Family’s young mistress could only belong to her.
Before long, the Jeans Family got wind of Cressida Jones’ whereabouts, because she had purchased a set of horse-riding gear, and there weren’t many horse-riding venues in the Capital City, making it easy to find out about Martin Yates’ reservations at a certain ranch.

Sheng Family Mansion
After being discharged from the hospital, Tim Payne, still under Julia Yates’ care and not wanting him to be alone at home, had him stay at the Sheng Family Mansion for a few days. He had just returned from a dinner with friends and saw Uncle Yates packing up.
"Your uncle is going horse riding, do you want to go?" Julia Yates asked.
Horse riding is good exercise. Tim had developed a severe fever this time, and Julia thought it was certainly due to him being overworked and lacking exercise.
Actually, Tim used to make time for the gym regularly.
But after finding his sister, presumably too delighted, he’d let himself go and hadn’t frequented the gym in three or four months.
Tim’s thoughts stirred. His uncle must be going with Cressida.
Yet he stubbornly said: "I’m not going."
"Zoe and William are also going, along with Finn Hale and a few of the Hale brothers," Julia continued to persuade.
"Zoe is pregnant and still going?"
"She just feels stuffy and wants some fresh air." She certainly won’t ride, just watch from afar, "The air is good there, and besides horse riding, there are other entertainment options."
Mario Payne understood his wife’s implications and also said: "It’s rare to have some leisure time during the New Year, let’s all go have fun."
"Well, if both Mom and Dad say so, and my sister is going too, then I’ll go," Tim conceded.
His tone sounded as if he was coerced.
Martin Yates raised an eyebrow:
Go if you want, putting on an unwilling facade for who to see!
If that brat dares to show a sour face that day, he’s certainly in for a lesson.
