Mrs Hale, I Surrender
Chapter 410: In her eyes, there was an unusual look.

Chapter 410: In her eyes, there was an unusual look.

Sussie Lopez realized belatedly and looked at Finn Hale in surprise: "Is Boss Payne pregnant?"

Once she received a confirmation, she picked up her phone to message Zoe Payne and congratulate her. However, the news of her pregnancy hadn’t been made public yet. They were waiting for three months to pass until the fetus was stable.

"Why are you so happy about someone else’s pregnancy?" Finn Hale chuckled softly. "Are you excited to become a grandmother?"

Sussie snorted lightly, "We’re just dating, doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll get married."

"What did you say?"

Saying so, Finn Hale pulled down his sweater from the collar, "You bit me like this, and you still don’t want to take responsibility?"

There was a clear bite mark on his neck, deep and hard to fade.

"You..." Sussie hurriedly reached out to straighten his sweater. It wasn’t her fault; sometimes she just couldn’t resist. Just as she fixed his clothes, her hand had not retracted when Finn Hale grasped it.

Tenderness overflowed in his eyes as he called out to her in a husky voice.

"Sussie."

His voice was deep and mellow, like it was laced with alcohol, vibrating in her ears and causing her heart to tremble.

He drew closer and kissed her deeply...

On the table, design drafts were pushed to a corner, her eyes becoming misty, the solid wood table a bit cold. She could only hold tight to the person in front of her.

Cold, isn’t it?

In the end, it was heat that drove one to the brink of collapse.

With no strength to struggle, he was unwilling to let go.

By the time Finn Hale carried her to the bedroom, clothes were scattered all over the study’s floor, an indecent sight.

Sussie bit down hard, Finn Hale was simply a disaster. She was worn out to death, too weak to work, yet that person was still full of vim and vigor, even getting up in the middle of the night to draw designs, saying:

"I’m in a good mood, inspiration is bursting forth!"

She couldn’t even hold a pen without difficulty.

Still, she had to kick him out quickly.

So that evening, Finn Hale returned to the family mansion. The house was filled with joy, he had bought a pile of things, baby blankets, rocking horses, baby bottle sets...

"Just happened to see them and thought they were nice, so I bought a few." Finn Hale looked at Zoe Payne, "Congratulations."

"Thank you, Uncle."

Old Sir Hale laughed, "You finally look a bit like you’re ready to be a grandpa."

He just smiled.

"Today is truly unusual, what brought you back all of a sudden?" Old Sir Hale looked him over, "You didn’t get kicked out by Sussie, did you?"

"Dad, can’t you wish for something good for me?"

Old Sir Hale was pleased, even looking at this rebellious son more pleasingly. Wyatt Hale then cozied up to his sister-in-law, seeing her eating dried plums and couldn’t help but crave one, nearly souring himself to death.

"Sister-in-law, how can you stomach these things!"

"I find them quite tasty."

"A sour son or a spicy daughter, could it be that I’m going to have a little nephew?"

One sentence was enough to make Old Sir Hale’s face turn cold.

Although he wasn’t one to favor boys over girls, the Hale Family was overbearingly masculine, and deep down he always hoped for a soft and cuddly little girl. Wyatt Hale felt a twinge in his heart and quickly hid behind his sister-in-law.

"By the way, what would you like to eat tomorrow?" The old master beamed at Zoe Payne.

"I’m going back to my parents’ house tomorrow, I’ve made an appointment with my mom."

"Then let William accompany you."

When Mario Payne and his wife learned that their daughter was pregnant, they were so excited that they couldn’t sleep well that night. Julia Yates suddenly got inspired, climbed out of bed in the middle of the night to draft designs, ending up catching a cold. Otherwise, she would have rushed to the Hale Family’s house early on.

After resting for a day and her health improved, they asked Zoe Payne to come over.

Early in the morning, Assistant Law came back to help Tim Payne with some documents, passing by the front hall only to see Julia Yates pruning a potted plant and instructing the housekeeper to order some fresh flowers.

"Mrs. Payne, are you ordering flowers?" Assistant Law approached.

Julia nodded, "This way the house feels more lively."

"I’ll order them for you."

"Then I’ll trouble you."

"How could you say that, it’s my pleasure. How many flowers do you roughly need, and where are they all going to be placed?"

Assistant Law, after receiving Julia Yates’ reply, happily made a phone call to Cressida Jones to tell her to order flowers. "When do you need them?"

"Can it be before noon?"

"Okay, send me the address."

Business that comes to your door is not to be turned down. Usually, local express delivery takes care of sending flowers, but since Assistant Law had a bulk order, he specifically instructed, "There’s a pregnant woman at home, so please pay attention with the flowers."

So it’s related to Zoe Payne, hence she decided to deliver the flowers personally.

She set out from the shop around nine-thirty; it took her an hour to reach the specified destination, only to discover that it was, unexpectedly, the Sheng Family Mansion. There were servants helping to move the flowers, and she thoughtfully prepared all the fresh cut bouquets in vases.

During the process, she couldn’t help but think that the Payne Family really was wealthy.

There were all kinds of antique ceramics, simply too numerous to count.

After all, they started out in design, so the interior decoration was uniquely exquisite, clearly showing their good taste.

As Julia Yates passed through the living room, she only saw a beautiful and elegant girl arranging bouquets. She guessed she might be the florist owner or an employee.

Upon closer inspection, she felt that the girl looked familiar.

She was sure she had seen her somewhere before, but couldn’t remember where.

Today, his sister was coming home, so Tim Payne got off work early and bought her favorite pastries. "Have William and Zoe not arrived yet?"

"They should be here soon."

"Grandpa and Grandma aren’t home either?"

"Your grandma said she wanted to cook personally; your grandpa and dad are helping her out in the kitchen."

As Tim Payne was talking with his mother, he didn’t notice the person on the side of the screen arranging flowers. Cressida Jones was about to greet him when she heard Mrs. Payne say, "Your aunt says she knows a nice girl who studied abroad and just returned to Capital City for the New Year. Would you like to meet her?"

"I don’t like students."

"She’s a graduate student!"

"She’s still a student."

"It’s just to get acquainted and make a friend; I’m not telling you to marry her. I have her photo here; take a look first." Julia Yates walked over with her phone.

Cressida Jones bit her lip tightly. Could a figure like Junior President Payne actually be troubled by a blind date?

Tim Payne just briefly glanced at his mother’s mobile phone screen, "She looks fine, but not my type."

While saying this, he took off his coat, ready to hang it aside, turned around, and locked eyes with Cressida Jones. He was startled for a few seconds, a hint of confusion in his eyes, obviously surprised to see her at his home.

"What type do you like then?" Julia Yates pressed.

Her gaze shifted and she saw her son staring at a girl.

That gaze,

Clearly was not ordinary.

Julia Yates was perplexed, "Do you know her?"

"She is Miss Jones from the Jones Family," explained Tim Payne.

"Jones..." Julia Yates murmured, and then it dawned on her. No wonder she looked familiar; many photos and videos had been circulated at the engagement party, but some were blurred out.

She wasn’t much interested in gossip, just glanced at it casually. She had an impression, but it wasn’t deep.

After all, she later found out her daughter was pregnant.

There wasn’t any interest left to follow those gossips.

"Mrs. Payne, Junior President Payne." Cressida Jones properly greeted them at this point.

Her incident with the Jeans Family was common knowledge in Capital City.

Even someone like Julia Yates, who wasn’t keen on digging into gossips, was aware of the gist, and naturally her eyes conveyed sympathy when she looked at her.

"So it’s Miss Jones," Julia Yates said with a smile. "You know Tim? Why didn’t you say anything?"

"I had ordered custom jewelry from Payne Corps before, so I’ve seen him. Today, I’m just here to deliver flowers." Cressida Jones made it clear that she was there for work and there was no need to deliberately seek a closer relationship.

And she did not mention any private contact with Tim Payne.

Merely saying she had seen him at Payne Corps was logical and wouldn’t lead others to overthink.

Clearly:

She had no intention of getting too entangled with the Payne Family.

Julia Yates offered with a smile, "How about a cup of tea?"

"I still have work to finish, Mrs. Payne. Please don’t mind me."

Led by a servant, Cressida Jones turned to arrange bouquets elsewhere, while Julia Yates looked at her son and said, "So it’s for her that you played the hero? That you struck her sister?"
