Chapter 392: 391 Instigating the boss to poach employees? Has a peeping fetish?
After Tim Payne finished washing up, he entered the living room and saw his uncle playing with the falco rusticolus. He suddenly remembered how someone was scared out of their wits last night and couldn’t help but laugh dumbly.
When designing the fake boyfriend scheme with his sister, he seemed like someone with a lot of courage.
He didn’t expect to be afraid of this.
"Uncle, when do you plan to move out?" Tim Payne asked while eating porridge.
Martin Yates tilted his head to look at him, "You’re still eating the porridge I cooked for you, and you’re already thinking of kicking me out?"
"I didn’t mean that; it’s just that my apartment really isn’t suitable for raising birds."
"Don’t worry, I’ll move out before the New Year."
Raising birds really does require a house with a yard, and since his nephew was truly starting to date, it wouldn’t be convenient for him to stay here. He couldn’t be the one to delay his nephew’s lifelong happiness.
"Really?" Tim Payne was delighted beyond belief, but his face betrayed no emotion.
"I’m leaving? You’re that happy?"
"No, it’s just so sudden. I’ll miss you."
"Then I won’t leave."
"..."
Martin Yates could see through the thoughts of his nephew, whom he watched grow up.
His nephew had grown up, and it was time for him, the uncle, to make room for him. While Tim Payne went to freshen up, Martin Yates contacted a real estate agent to keep an eye out for suitable housing.
Martin Yates played with the bird, not forgetting to say, "Do you remember what I told you when you first joined the company?"
Tim Payne was stunned for a few seconds.
Why bring this up out of the blue?
"I said, ’seize any opportunity that comes your way, be bold, because opportunities don’t come around all the time. Hesitating will make it hard to accomplish anything, and this applies to both people and events.’"
Tim Payne was puzzled, wondering why his uncle would tell him this all of a sudden.
He had his meal and then went to the company. When Assistant Law handed him the documents, he also expressed concern for his superior: "Junior President Payne, how are you feeling?"
"I’m fine."
"I was worried that you might have a hangover this morning and wouldn’t come to work, but it seems the hangover candy worked well."
Tim Payne took a deep breath, "You should be more cautious in the future. After all, she is getting engaged. If you bring her to my place and someone sees, it doesn’t matter for me as a man, but she’ll inevitably be the subject of gossip."
"What happened last night was my lack of consideration," Assistant Law said, glancing at his boss, "Junior President Payne, may I be so bold as to ask a question?"
Tim Payne glanced at him but said nothing.
Assistant Law already smiled and said, "Did something happen between you and Miss Jones last night?"
"If you know it’s none of your business, then don’t ask," Tim Payne said, his tone revealing no particular emotion.
Assistant Law sighed as he left the office.
Actually, he was also troubled.
He always felt that Junior President Payne and Miss Jones were quite fated.
Although their interactions were limited, he often dealt with female clients as a receptionist and could judge people well. Miss Jones was indeed not bad, quite beautiful too. But unfortunately...
She was getting engaged.
Even though she didn’t love her fiancé, she was already promised to someone else.
If the fiancé was acceptable, that would be fine, but he was a pit of fire.
Junior President Payne had a blank slate in terms of romance for years. He hoped that his boss would find love and settle down soon. He was wondering whether to encourage his boss to become a homewrecker.
Since the fiancé was a scumbag, this would be helping Miss Jones escape misery.
It should...
Not be considered immoral, right?
But after that, Miss Jones did not appear again, probably busy with engagement preparations.

Inside the bridal shop
Zoe Payne had just finished trying on dresses and sat down in the rest area, taking a long sigh of relief, which caused Hannah Johnson, sitting beside her, to chuckle softly, "Just trying on a few dresses, are you that tired? I remember you used to have quite a bit of stamina."
After all, she had a background as a dance performer.
"Maybe it’s been too long since I’ve exercised, and the winter makes it especially easy to get tired."
"Then you should rest at home. Why bother attending the engagement party at the Jeans Family and the Jones Family?"
Zoe Payne was shopping for a dress to attend the engagement party.
Hannah Johnson recently started experiencing morning sickness, vomiting severely, and could only rely on drinking some plain porridge to get by. Today happened to be a day when she felt a bit better, so she arranged to meet Zoe Payne for an outing.
"It’s boring staying at home anyway." Zoe Payne smiled, "When I had my wedding, Miss Jones was sitting next to you, I thought you were well-acquainted."
"We’ve seen each other at events a couple of times before, but never greeted each other, not familiar."
"Then how come you..."
"Her sister, doing such shameless things and still daring to ostracize her, that’s what I can’t stand." Hannah Johnson was eating preserved plums, Zoe smelt them and felt greedy, wanting to eat some too.
"Eating this can somewhat alleviate my morning sickness; I had Isaac buy them for me. They’re particularly sour, I’m afraid you might not handle it."
"I don’t think it’s sour at all, it’s quite tasty."
Hannah blinked.
Not sour?
Could it be that this girl’s taste buds are off?
"My brother will come to pick me up later, he can drop you off on the way home." Zoe munched on the preserved plums.
"There’s no need to trouble Junior President Payne, Isaac will come."
Isaac Shea had already started his winter vacation, but his lab work wasn’t finished yet; he was currently at the university.
"Mrs. Hale, are you satisfied with these dresses you’ve tried on?" The shop assistant came over politely to ask.
"We’ll take the last two sets, the others we don’t need."
The shop assistant immediately nodded with a smile. Since there were other customers waiting to try on dresses, and Hannah all of a sudden felt nauseous, her face turned pale as she rose to find the restroom.
"Sis..." Zoe quickly followed.
Hannah, desperate, went the wrong direction, entered a restroom, and once behind the stall door, she vomited violently.
Zoe couldn’t help much from outside, and when Hannah came out, she anxiously asked, "How do you feel?"
"Feel better after throwing up."
"Sit down for a while, I’ll get you some water."
Hannah felt miserable from vomiting. Fortunately, there were seats outside the restroom. After sitting her down, Zoe turned to go back to the dressing room.
As she returned, several shop assistants were tidying up the dresses she had tried earlier. Thinking the customer was away, they quietly gossiped: "...her sister is truly shameless, what is she doing coming along when a couple is trying dresses? Truly repulsive."
"The most disgusting is her boyfriend. While Miss Jones is trying on dresses, he started flirting with the Second Miss Jones."
"Miss Jones only tried on two dresses, her sister has tried on five or six. People who don’t know might think that she is the main character of the engagement in a couple of days."
...
The shop assistants muttered among themselves, but immediately went silent and lowered their heads when they saw Zoe coming back.
Zoe didn’t expect her to be buying dresses here too.
Still, her mind was preoccupied with Hannah’s wellbeing, not caring about the others.
She thought water might soothe Hannah after vomiting, but hardly had she swallowed a few sips, she ran back to the restroom to retch again. Zoe knew people suffered from morning sickness, but never expected it to be this tough.
Listening to the noise from the restroom, Zoe’s own stomach began to churn.
Could it be,
This thing is contagious?
In the meantime, Tim Payne called, "I’ve already arrived at the private room, haven’t seen you."
"I’m with my cousin in the restroom, she’s got severe morning sickness. We’ll be right back." Zoe said, handing over the mouthwash from Hannah’s bag, "If you keep throwing up like this, it’s not going to work. Do you want to go to the hospital?"
"Resting for a bit will do."
"I’ll call Teacher Shea to come pick you up sooner."
Before pregnancy, Hannah had heard about severe morning sickness yet never expected herself to suffer like this.
——
Tim Payne waited in the private room for a while, his sister and Hannah hadn’t come back, and he grew worried.
After all, Hannah was pregnant. He got up to look for them.
The bridal shop had three floors, each with several restrooms. Following the signs, Tim stood outside the nearest ladies’ room and knocked. Only a strange lady was there, and she informed him that apart from her, there was no one else inside.
Tim’s call to his sister went through but was in progress, Hannah’s phone was left unanswered.
He frowned, hoping nothing had happened.
Maybe it was due to past incidents, his heart was somewhat uneasy.
Searching each restroom, he immediately spotted a familiar figure sneakily crouching at the door of one.
Tim frowned.
Why her?
And crouching outside the men’s restroom.
Could she possibly have some voyeuristic tendency?
