Chapter 344: 343 Uncle: I can’t get over the first kiss
In the hospital
After everyone left, Sussie Lopez looked at her phone for a while before she realized she hadn’t brought her charger. She got up, intending to borrow a plug from the nurse’s station, but as soon as she lifted the blankets, she found she didn’t even have slippers.
She sighed and then heard a knock on the door.
"Come in."
She thought it was the caregiver that Hannah Johnson had requested.
Just because she had stitches in her arm didn’t mean she was helpless. She didn’t need a caregiver at all; she just didn’t want her senior brother to stay and watch over her through the night.
Since the caregiver was already there, she could ask her to help buy some things.
Accompanied by the sound of the door opening, Sussie lifted her head and saw a familiar figure...
"How, how come it’s you?"
Finn Hale was holding a shopping bag full of items.
He walked straight into the ward.
"Seeing me, are you nervous?" Finn asked casually, taking out a pair of light blue cotton slippers from the bag and placing them at her feet.
"No."
"Hannah thought we were boyfriend and girlfriend, so she asked me to come as a caregiver."
Sussie bit her lip.
That Miss Johnson was really... From the first meeting, she called her "auntie," and now she’d sent Finn over. She really didn’t let her off easy.
"What are you preparing to get out of bed for?" Finn’s tone was casual.
"To borrow a charger."
"I brought one for you."
Apart from going to the supermarket, Finn also went back to the apartment and took his laptop and design notebook. He sat on the sofa doing design work, while Sussie, looking at her phone, would unconsciously glance at him with her peripheral vision.
How can someone be so good-looking?
Sussie didn’t regard herself as someone who prioritized looks, especially since her senior brother was rather handsome.
But good-looking and talented was really her weak spot.
After looking at her phone for a while, she prepared to wash up. The hand that was injured hurt just to lift and was weak; she couldn’t tie her hair back with one hand, and washing her face and brushing her teeth was inconvenient with her hair loose.
Just as she was getting annoyed, Finn suddenly appeared at the bathroom doorway.
Taking the hair tie from her wrist, he stood behind her and reached out to gather her hair.
In front of her was the mirror. Sussie only had to look up to see the man standing behind her, his eyes lowered and expression focused. The heater was on inside, and he wore only a light grey woolen sweater, exuding an air of cool indifference.
Sussie remembered the first time she saw Finn...
He was so attractive it seemed as if he wasn’t on the same plane as other people, as though the creator has given him a personal filter.
Sublime and untainted by the dust of the world.
As the arch-nemesis of her senior brother, Sussie had checked him out, seen his photos and videos, and thought he was quite handsome, but in person, he was so much better-looking than in his pictures.
And now, she’d brought him down from his pedestal.
Suddenly,
Finn’s fingertips lightly grazed over her neck, warm and causing a tingling sensation. She was ticklish and instinctively shrank her neck.
"Sorry, I’m not skilled at this."
The Hale family only had boys, Finn had never tied anyone’s hair before.
He loosely gathered her hair and secured it with the tie, his gaze sweeping past her neck, perhaps because he had touched it, her fair skin took on a light pink hue...
It looked... tempting.
Finn’s eyes darkened slightly, his Adam’s apple moved unconsciously.
He wanted...
To take a bite.
"Your hair is tied up now," Sussie said, trying to turn aside and walk away, but unexpectedly...
In the next second,
Finn suddenly stretched out his hands, supporting himself on both sides of the wash basin, trapping her with his body. Sussie’s breathing deepened. She just knew, with a single man and woman alone tonight, something was bound to happen.
"What are you trying to do? This is a hospital," her fingers tensed involuntarily.
She couldn’t face him, only standing with her back turned.
In the mirror, Finn suddenly bent down closer, his chin nearly resting in the nape of her neck, his breath on her ear, his voice deep, "Do I... look that good?"
"What, what?"
"You were secretly watching me while I worked."
"I wasn’t."
"You looked 47 times."
"..."
Sussie Lopez subconsciously countered, "47 times, did you count wrong?"
"So, you have been sneaking glances at me after all."
Sussie Lopez felt her scalp tighten. Finn Hale was simply devilish, but their current proximity was so intimate it inevitably threw her into disarray, especially as Finn seemed to move even closer.
In the mirror, he tilted his head as if wanting to bite her neck.
Her senior would definitely come tomorrow to visit her in her illness, and if he left a mark, she wouldn’t be able to hide it.
She instinctively reached up to cover her neck...
His lips seared onto the back of her hand.
Lightly, warmly.
"What are you afraid of?" Finn Hale chuckled, his warm breath falling on the back of her hand with his laughter, light and heavy in turn, like sparks that could easily kindle a scorching heat.
"Don’t you dare."
"Don’t worry, I won’t bite you tonight," Finn Hale said, slightly turning to the side, increasing the distance between them.
Only then did Sussie Lopez breathe a sigh of relief and let go of her neck.
But she hadn’t expected...
He suddenly leaned in.
Lowering his head, bending down, a scorching kiss landed on her neck.
Her breath hitched tight, that kiss gradually shifting...
Her neck, the side of her ear, her cheek,
In the mirror, their bodies pressed tightly together, inseparable, Sussie’s face flushed red with the heat of his kiss.
"Mr. Hale..."
Sussie Lopez tried to dodge his kiss, turning in an attempt to push him away, but the moment her uninjured hand touched his chest, he pinned it down.
"Trying to run again?"
His gaze slowly traversed her face, in such a confining space that felt as if no air could get through, the distance between them growing increasingly close.
Almost imperceptible, inseparable.
Before Sussie Lopez’s eyes, Finn Hale drew nearer still, until his burning breath brushed against her lips.
"Have you forgotten that year... you treated me the same way?"
"I..."
Sussie Lopez gritted her teeth in vexation.
Indeed, what goes around comes around eventually.
"Forgotten?" Finn Hale chuckled lowly.
So close, his smile so charming, it sent ripples through her heart.
"That’s all in the past."
Moreover, back then, Finn had been drunk, and the next day was as if nothing had happened. Sussie thought he had completely forgotten.
"But for me... it’s not in the past."
With that, he tilted his head.
The distance between their lips vanished.
The air inside the restroom seemed to be sucked out in an instant.
So thin that she felt her brain swell, desperately gasping for oxygen.
His lips,
So hot it made her heart flutter.
Sussie Lopez’s mind went blank, all her senses concentrating on her lips.
Tasting,
Nipping,
Tentatively testing, teasing...
Her body turned soft, unable to handle it, she began to slide down.
Suddenly his hand clutched her waist, lifting her entire body up against his...
Body against body, no gaps to be found.
Sussie’s mind still hadn’t snapped back to reality; her hand remained on his chest where his heartbeat seemed to thump extremely fast, violently pulsing against her palm.
Beat after beat...
Throwing her breathing and heart rate into disarray.
"Sussie, that night you stole my first kiss, so this is something we can never get over."
He had agreed not to bite, but he hadn’t said he wouldn’t kiss.
First kiss?
Sussie was dazed, moving slightly, pulling at the wound on her arm, a sudden stab of pain jolted her back to reality. If she didn’t take action, something would definitely happen, so she opened her mouth...
And bit down on his lips!
