Chapter 256: 255 Cousin: Do you want to be my boyfriend? (2 more updates)
Isaac Shea had contacted Hannah Johnson that afternoon to set up a meeting time, but her phone was off, which made his heart plummet.
Until before dinner, he couldn’t reach Hannah Johnson at all.
A sudden issue arose in the experiment, and his supervisor pulled him in as extra help, keeping him busy until almost eleven o’clock.
He wasn’t allowed to bring his cell phone, and when he left the lab and saw all the missed calls, his heart sank, and he hurriedly called Hannah back.
"Sorry, I was busy just now. Have you gone to sleep yet?"
"I’m downstairs from your dorm."
"..."
At this time, the campus was nearly deserted. As Isaac Shea ran over, he spotted Hannah standing under a streetlight, looking at her phone, bundled up so only her eyes were visible, but he recognized her instantly.
Hearing footsteps, Hannah looked up at him as he approached at a rapid pace.
He was running quickly and headed straight for her.
A group of girls nearby became excited when they saw him, but Isaac Shea bypassed them and ran straight to Hannah, breathing heavily, "When did you get here?"
"It’s been a while."
"Cold?"
"Yes."
Isaac Shea grabbed her wrist and led her inside the dormitory.
Being a teacher, bringing a girl to his dorm wasn’t questioned by the dorm supervisor, who only looked surprised.
Could it be...
Is that really Isaac Shea’s girlfriend?
Isaac Shea walked quickly, took out his keys to open the door, and led Hannah inside.
The room was warm. Hannah, wearing a mask, found it a bit stuffy and had just pulled it down partially when she felt a tight grip on her wrist and the sound of the door slamming shut as she was pressed against it.
The light was off, and the streetlight outside shone through the branches, casting a soft and deep glow on his face.
He was smiling as he looked down at her.
His gaze was direct and eager.
He had just run back and hadn’t even caught his breath fully; his warm breath brushed against her thin skin, soft and warm...
Hannah felt a tickle and instinctively shrank back, which made Isaac Shea chuckle softly, "What are you avoiding?"
"What are you laughing at?"
"I’m happy you came to see me."
"You’re easily satisfied."
"Sis..." Isaac Shea’s breath was almost on her lips, "Shall we kiss?"
Hannah bit her lip.
It seemed Isaac Shea had figured out how to provoke her.
He always deliberately called her "Sis" to tease her.
It made her heart tremble.
Hannah’s eyelashes fluttered lightly, and before she could respond, he had lowered his head and kissed her lips, pressing his body against hers. His body was hot, and his breath scalding, pressing so close she found it hard to breathe.
This kiss...
Was deep.
A soft moan escaped from her lips, her legs felt weak, and as she wrapped her arms around his neck, he tightened his grip around her waist.
Despite his slight build, Isaac Shea was strong, lifting her onto a nearby table and leaning in closer.
The situation became instantly charged and provocative.
Hannah was dressed warmly, but as her clothes began to fall off piece by piece, she felt cold and pushed Isaac Shea away, "Let me go first."
"This place isn’t comfortable?"
"Huh?"
"Should we go to the bed?"
"..."
Hannah gritted her teeth.
What was he thinking?
"I have something serious to talk to you about."
Isaac Shea was silent, fixing her clothes before turning on the light.
This was Hannah’s first visit to his dorm. The room seemed somewhat bare due to his absence in the past few days, containing only a bed, wardrobe, a table with chairs, and a pile of books.
"Let’s go out; I haven’t eaten dinner yet." Hannah didn’t want to discuss things in the dorm.
Though she hadn’t known Isaac Shea for very long, she understood him quite well—he was good at playing the pity card, especially with those puppy dog eyes that she couldn’t resist.
She was afraid...
That their conversation would end up on the bed.
For serious matters, a more appropriate setting was needed.
Hannah hadn’t driven, so they found a late-night diner near the school.
"Have a drink." Hannah grabbed a beer, but Isaac Shea, having classes the next day, didn’t drink, feeling uneasy. And his fears were confirmed as soon as Hannah spoke, "Our relationship was unhealthy and distorted from the start."
"There were many issues in my family at the time, and I was selfish, seeking solace and warmth from you."
"It was unfair to you, so I want to end this relationship."
...
Isaac Shea’s heart froze instantly.
Although the heater was on, he felt icy cold, as if someone had sliced open his heart, letting the harsh winter wind pierce through with frosty blades.
He looked at Hannah, forcing a slight smile on his face.
"Don’t you want me anymore?"
That look in his eyes was pitiable.
Like a wronged puppy.
Hannah loved small animals, and seeing that pained her.
"Just because I don’t want a title, you don’t want me around?" Isaac Shea suddenly laughed, as if mocking himself, "Do you really not want to be with me?"
Hannah took a sip of her drink, "Isaac Shea."
"Yes?"
"I didn’t say I don’t want you."
"What?"
"I think we can try a different kind of relationship, if you’re willing, we can start dating." Hannah was straightforward, not one to beat around the bush.
She hadn’t finished speaking, and his mood had already plummeted.
It was as if she was treating him like a fling to be discarded after use.
Isaac Shea was stunned for a moment, "What did you say?"
"You don’t want to?"
"Then I’ll move back tonight."
"..."

Old House of Hale Family
When Zoe Bell and William Hale got home, it was very late, and nearly everyone in the Hale Family was still awake.
"Grandpa, Grandma, why aren’t you sleeping?" William’s expression was calm, showing no emotion.
"How dare you ask!" Old Sir Hale scoffed, "It’s because of you, our phone has been ringing off the hook! Everyone is asking me why you got married without inviting them for the wedding banquet."
"Can’t you tell me beforehand what you’re planning next time?"
"Let me be mentally prepared!"
William nodded, "Definitely next time."
"Get out of here, you’re annoying to look at."
"Grandpa, I brought you some gifts from my trip abroad."
"Don’t think you can bribe me with small favors, I’m very angry." Old Sir Hale said this, but he couldn’t help rubbing his hands, his face full of anticipation.
Everyone in the Hale Family received gifts. William handed a pen to Simon Hale, who was looking at his phone.
"Watching something so intently?" William asked casually.
"The school’s forum has some gossip about Mr. Shea."
"Mr. Shea?" Old Lady was immediately interested.
"They say he brought a girl to his dorm, the first time there’s been gossip about him."
Finn Hale sat silently, while Zoe Bell felt uneasy. How to handle this... That person must be her cousin.
