Mrs Hale, I Surrender -
Chapter 152 Give up, and witness true madness
Chapter 152: 152 Give up, and witness true madness
That night, the moon was obscured and the wind was strong.
Hannah Johnson glanced at Wyatt Hale and didn’t say much, only cautioning him, "Try not to talk too much later."
"I promise to act as if I’m mute."
Wyatt Hale cheerfully got out of the car, clung to Zoe Bell like a persistent plaster, and whispered, "Sister-in-law, what are we doing here? Whose house is this?"
"You don’t know?" Zoe Bell frowned.
Hannah Johnson was walking ahead, keeping some distance from them.
Logan Hale walked on the other side of Zoe Bell, also curious.
"Second cousin, do you know?" Wyatt asked.
Logan Hale shook his head.
"Then what are you two here for tonight?" Zoe Bell felt a headache coming on.
It wasn’t Logan’s fault. The last time Hannah Johnson had hired his men to drive his own father away, he had been unaware because this cousin often took care of his business, resulting in a scolding from his older brother.
Recently, the Hugh family had faced unending troubles.
So he told his subordinates that for any business involving the cousin, he would handle it personally.
And so, he had come.
Bringing four security personnel with him.
One of them was a woman, specifically instructed by Hannah Johnson to dress casually.
Wyatt Hale saw him leaving and thinking there’d be some excitement, insisted on coming along.
He had said it was work, but someone didn’t believe it.
So, this was the group that had formed.
Zoe Bell felt the need to warn them in advance, her voice barely audible, "Mr. Hugh has a place here... he might have a little ’family’."
She said it euphemistically.
Upon hearing this, Wyatt Hale blurted, "Holy shit!"
Hannah Johnson turned around and he instantly shut his mouth.
But his eyes instantly lit up.
Unexpectedly, there was a ruckus to behold!
Catching his own father in an affair, fitting for the cousin.
Hannah Johnson, having somehow acquired an elevator card, led the group directly to the ninth floor. The setup of one apartment per floor added privacy; she signaled for Logan’s female security personnel, "You pretend to be a downstairs neighbor and say her house is leaking."
The woman nodded.
"Sister, what if they don’t open the door?" Wyatt whispered.
"Should we just break in?"
"Then we’ll call the police, say there’s illicit activity happening, and let them catch whoever’s inside," Hannah Johnson raised an eyebrow, "I’ll blockade the door. He’d have to jump out the window to escape."
Zoe Bell pursed her lips, feeling an inexplicable mix of nervousness and excitement.
---
At this moment inside the apartment, the two were heating things up. Although not fully satisfying, it had been enough to keep Liam Hugh there so long, naturally requiring some skill to make him comfortable.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang,
Liam Hugh was greatly startled, feeling guilty like a thief, and hurriedly hid deeper inside the apartment in his disheveled attire.
"Who is it?" Molly Hanson adjusted her clothes.
"I’m your downstairs neighbor. Could you open the door? I need to talk to you about something."
The woman’s voice.
Molly Hanson peeped through the door viewer.
At such times, a woman’s presence usually lowers one’s guard, especially since she was dressed very casually at home. Molly Hanson adjusted her hair, "Who are you?"
"I’m your downstairs neighbor, our place is leaking."
"That has nothing to do with me."
"Could you let me check, please?"
Molly Hanson was still wary, "It’s not a good time."
"Our ceiling’s soaked through. If you don’t let me check, I’ll have to get the property management or call the police," the security woman was quick on her feet.
Molly Hanson clenched her teeth, not wanting too many people around, so she reluctantly opened the door.
The moment the door opened—
Suddenly, a man’s hand braced the door.
He forcefully pushed it open.
Caught off guard, she stumbled backward two steps, nearly falling.
"What are you doing! I already told you, your leaking has nothing to do with me, I..." Molly Hanson angrily said, looking at the two men in black who were the first to enter, big and burly, clearly not easy to deal with, "This is my house. I’m asking you to leave!"
The two men remained unfazed.
Following them...
A woman dressed in black stepped into the apartment.
The cool breeze slightly puffed up her black trench coat, her wavy long hair framing her bright red lips.
She was radiantly proud, as if she could easily handle anything coming her way.
Zoe Bell followed closely behind Logan Hale and Wyatt Hale.
Logan was so tall he had to duck his head to enter, bringing an imaginable sense of oppression.
Molly Hanson’s face suddenly changed dramatically. Just moments ago she had shouted and driven someone out, but now she felt inexplicably guilty and averted her gaze upon making eye contact.
Hannah Johnson surveyed the apartment and laughed softly, "It seems you recognize me, so I’ll save the introduction."
Liam Hugh was tidying up clothes in the bedroom.
At the sound of the familiar voice, his face turned pale.
How did she find this place!
"You ... you, who are you? I don’t know you. This is my home. Please leave!" Molly gritted her teeth, trying to sound calm.
"Your home?" Hannah chuckled softly.
"This apartment is mine!"
"Who bought it for you?"
"I... it’s none of your business," Molly snapped. "That’s my personal affair. It’s not your place to meddle. If you don’t leave, believe it or not, I’ll call the police."
"Go ahead, call them."
Molly was stunned.
Although she was about the same age as Hannah, she had less life experience, all dedicated to pleasing men. Suddenly facing Hannah, she was dazed.
Her mind crashed, in utter chaos.
"If you call the police, it will look bad on you too. Better you leave yourself," Molly persisted stubbornly.
"Miss Hanson, we all know the truth here. No point in pretending anymore. Go on, call Liam Hugh out."
Molly was terrified inside.
"I don’t know any Liam Hugh; please get out!"
"This apartment was bought by him for you, right? You seem to forget that he is still not divorced from my mother. Every penny he used is marital property, which means..."
"The apartment is half my mother’s!"
Hannah approached her, the pungent scent of her perfume truly nauseating.
"You think just because he gave it to you, it’s now yours?"
"Telling me to leave? Staying here for a while, did you start to see yourself as the lady of the house?"
"You’re so young to be ’the other woman.’ His age is enough to be your father; you really aren’t choosy at all."
Hannah’s words were harsh, and Molly knew her actions were shameful.
But it was also the first time she had been humiliated like this.
Fuming inside,
she instinctively raised her hand to push Hannah away.
Hannah frowned, disgusted even by her touch and about to shake her off when Molly suddenly fell lightly to the ground, accompanied by a cry of pain...
Liam Hugh rushed out of the bedroom!
"Molly, are you alright!" She was pregnant, so of course Liam was worried.
"I’m fine, just a bit dizzy from the excitement," Molly said as she leaned into his embrace, feigning pitifulness.
Zoe Bell was stunned.
She thought Mina Bell was shameless enough.
But apparently, she had seen too little of the world.
"Hannah Johnson, what are you doing here going crazy? I warn you, if anything happens to Molly, I won’t let you off!" Liam cautioned.
"Don’t blame her, it’s not her fault; I fell myself," Molly quickly explained.
"She is nothing good, are you hurt? Did you hit anywhere?"
"If you feel uncomfortable in any way, tell me immediately. I’ll call the doctor," Liam insisted, examining her.
The urgency and attentiveness reminded Hannah of her father’s reaction when she fell as a child.
How things had changed.
Regarding her father, Hannah had long been disheartened.
Still, hearing about it and seeing it were different.
At this moment, her heart was thoroughly dead.
"Get out!" Liam pointed towards the door, especially seeing Zoe Bell and particularly Logan Hale and Wyatt Hale, his head exploded, shocked they had brought outsiders, "I order you, take them and leave now."
"You..." Wyatt could no longer stand by silently, about to speak but stopped by Zoe Bell.
Hannah chuckled softly, playing with her freshly done nails, "You say I’m going crazy?"
"Then I’ll show you what crazy really is."
