Chapter 149: Rattling Conscience

On the other part of Beijing, a few men had gathered around the round table of a night club. Each of them were holding girls only except for one who was laying on the couch with eyes closed and his lips pursed as if he was in such a deep sleep despite how everyone was in a party mood, drinking alcohol until one of them gave up or one of them had lost control of their body, another substance was used in their smokes other than cigarettes, causing them to turn delirious and to speak in a daze. Some couples on the corners had tussled on one another, doing the deed in the floors, none care for what the side effects of their actions, all they care was for the momentarily ecstasy that had grappled their body.

In between of that all was HangZhou who had pushed himself into the room, clicking his tongue as he sat down while ruffling his curled hair, his face marred with anger that he was trying to hold on inside of his heart but his anger was too clear to be seen. His gritted teeth wasn’t enough to help him from venting his anger so he went to the counter, took an expensive alcohol on his hands before pouring it over a young man who was sitting at the corner of the room, naked from top half, his body colored in blue and greenish bruises, the look of it was too painful as there was also wounds of burns from the cigarette burns that were pushed to his body.

"Fuck fuck fuck!" Yelled HangZhou who then smashed the bottle of alcohol straight to the young man’s face. The young man shut his eyes, fearing that if he dodged his family would be in ruins so he held on despite knowing how badly wounded he would be and how these people wouldn’t bother bringing him into the hospital even if he was borderline near death.

"FUCK!"

"What is it Hangzhou?" Someone came with a laugh between his lips, his eyes in a daze so he couldn’t think clearly but he wasn’t as wasted as the others as he never really liked taking the drugs far too much. "You look like shit."

"Think of why I look like shit, fuck," cursed HangZhou as he pulled his seat down, helped by his friends, "FaIn, the person who had sold OuYang to the authorities, do you know who it is?"

FaIn, the young man who was usually all smile quickly removed his relaxed expression and turned serious. He tilted his head and shook it, "What do you mean? Wasn’t it someone anonymous?"

"NO!" Hang Zhou cursed before kicking the young man who had became their venting doll. The young man who had been kicked on the stomach moved forward and accidentally pressed his hands on the broken shards of glass that had failed to hit him to death. He endured the pain, grateful that it was only a small wound on his palms rather than his entire body.

Hangzhou turned back again at FaIn and continued, "The one who had called the polices is Li ZiChen."

Someone’s voice gasped and it was TaLu, their third members who were walking toward them curiously. How surprised he was to heard a familiar name as he walked by, "Why the hell are you speaking of Li ZiChen’s name?! Don’t you know how much I despise him? Look at this," TaLu pointed his legs that he had to drag, "That motherfucker broke my ankle when we were in high school! Until now the ligaments can’t be fixed! That Bitch!"

"Fuck, I know he hates you," said HangZhou, "But why the fuck would he need to attack my night club too? Because of this, OuYang is caught red handed and now he’s facing serious charges. I don’t fucking care if he dies in the prison but all the drugs are now taken! All that I just made you know?!"

Fa In frowned, "Can’t you just bribe the authorities? I thought the police and detectives I had introduced you wouldn’t care about this case even if someone had reported it. They will turn a blind eye into it."

"Fuck! They can’t because all the evidence was already presented. Before this news can even be buried, that mother fucker Li Zi Chen brought the entire news station with him so he could make this news spread to all the civilians and now all of them demands for OuYang to be caught. Playing dirty tricks now will only cause for the detectives and police members we have in hand to be detained, worse they’ll be pushed off their seats and we have to corrupt a new one from the scratch!"

"Wait a second, Li ZiChen himself have a dirty business doesn’t he?" Fa In inquired again and Ta Lu was the one to chide.

"That bitch is a pussy, he’s a coward so he’ll never do anything against the law," Ta Lu spat out, "Don’t you know it already? He’d rather die than having to do something against the law. He does have a gang himself but they were always found clean."

"That or someone hadn’t been able to find evidence to put him behind bars," said Hang Zhou. "Anyway seems like there’s a bitch that had made him do this."

"A woman?" Ta Lu was interested, "No joke, Li ZiChen hates and despises women you know?"

"Then remind us why you got your legs broken? Wasn’t it because back in high school you took a picture of a girl’s skirt? He saw that and beat you up before he was forcefully transferred out of the school?" Fa In answered with a laugh, receiving a glare from Ta lu in exchange. "Do you remember the girl he protected?"

"How the hell should I remember her face? Must be someone plain and ugly enough for me to bully that’s for certain," then the two broke into a laughter, laughing at their behaviors that had caused people to suffer, finding it funny.

It was despicable how outside the world, they were known as good and famous people with a great sense of self worth. One was a doctor, the other is a famous businessman who often held charity, and the last was the son of politician who was climbing the ladder of the country’s ministry. The young man who was beaten up by them could only endure this painful fact of bowing down to Ta Lu, Fa In, and HangZhou.

To describe them easily, they’re people who could only feel pleasure in seeing someone who was suffering under their abuse. It wasn’t something that anyone should ever be proud about, but it’s the truth that they had always been unable to feel delighted unless they see someone suffering. Their target this time was him, a subordinate who worked under TaLu’s company, he was an intern who was promised to work in a higher position. But once he entered into the office, he was brutally bullied by the coworkers. He learned later that those people were told by Ta Lu to bully him, simply because in the past he had once accidentally bumped to TaLu who was running past him.

TaLu told him that he could always quit the job but he had to remember his elderly mother’s illness that could only be paid if he works in TaLu’s company. For his mother’s sake, he had endured the bullying, whether it was in the company or now in this building. He was at the back of call for TaLu to order around like a dog.

But TaLu wasn’t the only heinous people in this room. There were several, the people in this room whether women or men seem to know each other during their high school years and they’re extremely well known for their behaviors that would always be volatile and unpredictably impulsive. It was as if they couldn’t walk a day without anyone in harm.

But to top all these brutal rich kids were definitely these three, TaLu, FaIn, and HangZhou.

Hangzhou and FaIn never once hesitate from hurting him whenever they feel frustrated, using him as a venting punching bag. No wonder they were great friends, but he couldn’t utter a single word for fear his mother’s health would deteriorate and he would need more money for her surgeries. He clamped his mouth, enduring the bleeding pain from his wounds, and promised to endure until his mother had gotten better.

He looked at the new person who had came to the room. He was dressed in all black, his face wasn’t quite seen by him either as he had been in the corner of the darkest place, dazing out as he stared into the window. But that young man had never touched anything. Not the alcohol nor the drugs, nor did he touch the women or partake in the conversations.

That man was in a disinterest and distant thought but when the three bastards spoke about high school, his ears perked and his face had moved slightly toward them.
