Hearing his words, her cheeks burn. She didn’t want to receive his praise, she didn’t dress up for it but somewhere she had expected him to say those words, as if she had given more effort to have herself looking presentable so she could hear these praises from him. She was genuinely delighted seeing his face that was awed in amazement, his lips and mouth that were wide apart as if he was truly shocked to be able to see such beauty right in front of him, as if he was blind of colors until he had laid eyes on her.

That movement on his expression made her felt so.. utterly... delighted.

She was always "dirty" a filthy little thing who would crawl to be alive no matter what, so annoying to others’ eyes as they wanted her to just be gone from their eyes for good, to disappear and not to take up the spaces for how annoying she was.

So for someone to appreciate her presence so much. That felt so... it healed something inside her that she didn’t know was broken. Li ZiChen, the man you are... so easily sweeping those small scars on her heart, thought Ailin in her head.

"You’re pretty too..." she muttered only realizing that she had described him as "pretty" instead of "handsome". She gulped and added, "You know, pretty is another word of handsome, pretty handsome."

"I like pretty," he responded quickly, "If you think I’m pretty, then I’m overjoyed."

She stared at him, they both gazing into each other’s gaze that felt so warm as if a part of their cold hearts were always melted when they lay eyes upon each other’s gaze. Then Li ZiChen led her toward his car, opening the door for her before letting go of her hand rather unwillingly toward the driver seat. As they drove away, AiLin realized that although Li ZiChen’s wealth was uncountable, it seemed he would use less help around him knowing well that she wasn’t too good with many people surrounding her. It was a sign of his concern and she only noticed this now, making her question why she was so slow to notice and pick up all these small signs.

By the time they arrived to the party hall, AiLin couldn’t help but grin.

The first time she had stepped out of the prison was also the first time she had arrived to Jiang NianNian’s birthday party. The Jiang’s Family first party had ended in such an embarrassment, only if they would know that she had came to their second party in less than a month’s count.

She could already imagine the flushes of anger on their face which made her heart delightful. When she stepped out of the car along with Li ZiChen, hand in hand, they immediately gather attention from all sides. Those who had seen her from the previous party began to marvel about the hidden daughter of Hua Family, while others who were aware of Jiang AiLin from the Jiang Family, questioned how two people could look so similar yet so different.

Different because the Jiang AiLin they knew wouldn’t have acted so brazenly and coldly to the Jiang Family as she would always do whatever best she could to make them feel delighted.

Hua AiLin, on the other hand, seemed to not concern herself to people’s eyes. It’s clear from how she seemed unbothered by the news that had been going around about her and her relationship. Usually daughters from wealthy families would have quickly gathered themselves with other daughters from socialites families as they wanted to make name for themselves but Hua AiLin was different, she didn’t even answer all the phone calls made by the people who were desperate to be on their good side.

But AiLin herself wasn’t quite aware of how her name had been going so famous amongst so many people. She wasn’t even aware that there were people trying to call for her number as she had never received them. And now there were so many different rumors about her, like how she is the queen of charity who had graduated from a prestigious university, someone who would do what she like because she could, not because she was forced to. Unlike other the wealthy daughters, she was free to do what she wanted, and that had even gathered the love from the frigid Li ZiChen, who was not only wealthy but handsome.

So many people now either admire her or was jealous of her position, all wanting to be her that the rumors about her being so similar to "Jiang AiLin" was instantly curbed away.

The guards immediately allowed them to go inside without asking for their identity. Knowing well who Li ZiChen was and what kind of power he hold, they didn’t dare to even ask him for the invitation as he could enter to any party as he wished without having people questioning his intentions.

That was a win to AiLin who was sure that there would have been a problem since Mr and Mrs Jiang wouldn’t possibly want her to enter another one of their parties... unless.

She walked inside, eyeing the surroundings and the faces of people in the room. Before her eyes could venture far, someone had already rushed toward them, an older man with a bald head alongside his wife whose hair was short and curled inside. Pearls adorned her neck, and a familiar green jade earrings in a shape of cherry blossom hung from her ears.

Seeing that, AiLin was both surprised and then a stinging ache arrived to her heart.

"Mr Li!" Said the man, "It’s nice to see you here, I didn’t know that you would be arriving here so early, if I had known, I would have made sure the reception had welcomed you even warmer."

"It was already a warm welcome," said Li ZiChen without a smile. He then looked at AiLin who was staring wordlessly at the cherry blossom earrings on Mrs Lu’s ears.

"This is my wife," Mr Lu, Lu Ping’s father quickly introduce, "Lu Hanyan."

Li ZiChen only gave a curt nod and although the older folks were a little offended by his lack of excitement, they couldn’t say a single word as they knew Li ZiChen were the one who has the power here.

"T- then this lady here is..." the bald man turned toward AiLin who had pulled her sly smile.

"Hua AiLin," she introduced, "You must be Senior Mr Lu, I want to congratulate you first for your upcoming success. I cannot wait to see what kind of beautiful residency you would create."
