Mrs Fox Heinous Revenge: Can You Love A Villainess like Me? -
Chapter 113: Her Broken Parts
Chapter 113: Her Broken Parts
AiLin squeezed her skirt as she saw the shadow of her house coming closer to her view. She dropped her face before trying to look at the chauffeur who seemed pissed that he was told to pick her up from school when it was raining heavily.
While from outside, AiLin seemed loved and a perfect child of a wealthy family, in fact not one person in her house had ever really been nice to her. As her parents didn’t treat her well, eventually the servants saw it as a sign that they could do whatever they wish to her as she wasn’t in a position to ever talk back or defend herself.
So when the chauffeur had let her walk on the rain to the car without trying to get the umbrella for her, he had meant to do it because he was too lazy to take care of AiLin. He also let her walk back home under the heavy rain, still not offering his umbrella. AiLin was shivering. She had always been susceptible to cold and the chauffeur had turned on the AC of the car to the coldest even though he knew and had heard her sneezing from the back seat.
"Can I have the umbrella?" AiLin asked only to hear a sharp "tch" coming from the chauffeur.
He didn’t turn to her and spoke sharply, "Then how will I go to the garage miss? Without the umbrella? I have to work and if I get sick, the master will be very displeased and I can get fired all because of you."
Thinking how someone would be in trouble for her quickly made AiLin falter.
"I- I’m sorry, I don’t need it anymore," she responded quickly as she opened the door of the car and saw that the house was still quite a walk. Her body was trembling, her arms shaking from cold or maybe fear. She couldn’t really tell. She hugged her schoolbag around her body, not wanting it to get wet and she would be in trouble tomorrow. By the time she had arrived at the door, she saw the maids that looked at her with side glances, they ignored her, holding umbrellas for themselves and none offered to help her out or even hold her bag.
AiLin disregarded these. Though the blatant lack of concern hurt her, this wasn’t the first time. When it was the first time, it hurt and she would cry for help. But after the second, third, hundredth eleven, her disappointment mountain in her heart and she eventually found herself getting accustomed by the coldness of the adults around her.
However deep down, she believe that once she had made her mother proud, she would stop hating her and... and... everything will go normal like how it was two years ago.
She wasn’t scared or hurt that people dislike her. She simply wanted them to treat her a bit nicer than before.
When she reached the door, AiLin placed her schoolbag first. But before she could even take another step inside the foyer a blur came in front of her face and a hard blunt object had hit her head.
AiLin staggered behind. She fell on her knees as she hadn’t eaten properly out of anxiety the whole day.
She felt something warm and wet on her forehead and when she swiped her hand, her fingers trembled seeing the blood.
Hardly any time was given for her to wrap her mind around her surroundings as the next second, she heard the loud sharp yell, "What did I told you AiLin!?"
AiLin’s heart race, her mind was a wreck as she felt her heart thumping so loud against her chest. She lifted her face, "M- mother..."
"You have to get a perfect mark. Haven’t I told you that?!" Mrs Jiang angrily rushed forward. There was a golf stick on her hand, one that was painted gold. When it struck AiLin’s back, she could feel her body stinging, her throat choking on her own cry of pain. She curled on the ground, receiving five more hits and in between, Mrs Jiang had kicked her by her stomach, over and over again.
Throughout this, AiLin could only defend herself on the ground, she was glad the sound of rain loud enough so Mrs Jiang wouldn’t hit her harder because of how noisy her cry of pain was.
"Disgusting! All you had to do was to get a perfect mark. Is it so difficult for you to do so? DO YOU WANT YOUR FATHER TO YELL AT ME AGAIN FOR YOUR MISTAKE?!"
AiLin said nothing as she felt her body bruised all over.
"I shouldn’t have trusted your words when you told me you will make me proud."
"You have never make me proud! I shouldn’t have given birth to you— all you do is make my life a nightmare!"
"MengYao could do it, why can’t you do it?! This is why everyone look down on me— why they think you’re not my child— why they think I cheated on your father— because your brother is perfect but you! Everyone! Everything that happened to me is all because of you. ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!"
Being hit hurts. Being kicked hurts. Being looked down hurts.
But nothing hurt more than hearing Mrs Jiang begging her to be gone for good instead of making her life for worse. As a daughter, all AiLin had wanted to do was to make her mother proud— so she wouldn’t become her disappointment and the reason why she felt burdened.
"It’s.. m- my fault. I- I’m sorry m- mother," she sobbed, her tears wetting her entire face as she couldn’t bear with the anguish and pain anymore.
Mrs Jiang shook her head, "NO! NO! You’re not sorry. You’re not sorry. If you are, you wouldn’t have embarrassed me this way! You want me dead— fine, I’ll kill you first!"
Suddenly a cold band of fingers wrapped around AiLin’s neck.
She felt her air being cut off, her veins popping on her skin as it trembled from fear. Gasp of surprise left her mouth, she tried to release Mrs Jiang’s hands from her neck but even then she couldn’t. She couldn’t even muster in herself the courage to claw her mother’s hands. All she could do was hold there and try to survive by bringing air into her crushed windpipes, her eyes welled up with tears as she felt something snap around her neck.
As blackness covered her view, she found Mrs Jiang on top of her, hands tight around her neck, and her face didn’t look human anymore. Between the consciousness that slipping away from her fingers like sands, AiLin saw the frightening monsters who was about to kill her by choking her throat. That person’s face was red— entire red like crimson blood. Her eyes were filled with so much hatred that you wonder how could someone hate someone so much and so deeply. In between those fear and drum of trepidation from her chest, AiLin was reminded by the painting of a demon. The same demon that was smiling while it had looked at the poor innocent angel who had been burnt alive. She could never bring herself to call Mrs Jiang, her mother, a demon— but the wide grin from ear to ear shown by Mrs Jiang as she begged her, "DIE. JUST DIE!" Was so similar that she couldn’t shake the thoughts.
What had she done?
Why was she so hated?
AiLin felt her consciousness leaving her all of a sudden, shame, guilt, and fear all eating her heart alive until it no longer leave a trace. Her eyes moved to the side at the gold golf stick that was splattered by her own blood, her tears spilling from her eyes as she closed them, wondering if she disappeared would that finally bring happiness to her mother.
Then perhaps that wasn’t too bad.
At the young age, AiLin recalled that was the first time she had braced for death.
