Chapter 2595: Chapter 2593 Defending the City

At this moment within Hicks, those Demon Beasts and Hominini are already locked in fierce combat.

On the city walls, sporadic demons are occasionally surging up, resembling the siege warfare of primitive tribes.

Countless Demon Beasts crash against the walls, only for several formation patterns faintly glowing on the walls to dissipate the terrifying force.

Anyone retreating without permission, behead!

Anyone not resisting effectively, behead!

On the city walls, hundreds of the Supervising Battle Team weave through the soldiers.

With a swing of their blades, they’ve already executed nearly twenty soldiers who showed fear and attempted to retreat.

“What a terrifying blade; it even slices through war armor with ease.”

Ethan Smith drew a sharp breath; everything in this Holy Kingdom is extremely tough.

Under the influence of Divine Power, even their bones undergo qualitative change, not to mention the forged war armor,

Even the Bone Spur and dagger he obtained were crafted from Demonic Beast bones and required considerable effort.

Seizing this moment, under the effect of ‘True Sight.’

Ethan Smith clearly saw that there were at least a thousand soldiers here.

There are even roughly nine outsiders, most of whom are from the demon race, as evident from their attire.

The outsiders aren’t wearing war armor, and some even arrived earlier than Ethan Smith.

Ethan Smith frowned slightly; he didn’t find West Hill among them, and it’s possible that the soldiers guarding the city are assigned based on their strength.

Furthermore, the strength of these nine is not weak, besides the demon race members among them, there are also two Hominini outsiders here.

Among them, a young man of the demon race wearing a blue robe made Ethan Smith feel a chill. This battlefield seems like mere play to him.

Facing Ogre charges, he effortlessly slaughters them.

He’s so strong that Ethan Smith can hardly believe it. He himself achieved the Saint Heart and then inadvertently killed Falken Carney and controlled Quenby Jenkins to gain his current strength.

Now Ethan Smith is vaguely speculating that most people appearing here might be like him, having reached the limit of power in the first scene and thereby refreshing their presence here.

Meaning, these people are also elites, which can be deduced from their current strength.

Roar!

A rough roar interrupted Ethan Smith’s thoughts; an Ogre-Troll crawled up from the walls, its facial features typically rough and savage, with coarse skin, large, round eyes, and a broad mouth.

Two enormous Tusks still bear the blood and flesh of many Humans.

“You, block it.”

A supervising soldier stopped behind Ethan Smith.

Ethan Smith grabbed a fallen soldier’s sword from the ground; after all, it’s better than his current weapon.

He then charged at the Ogre-Troll nearly twice his own size, using the impact force, driving the sword directly through the Troll’s heart, and with great effort, turned the blade ninety degrees.

“What a resilient body.”

Ethan Smith was somewhat shocked; even though the blade had entered the body, he expended great effort crushing the Ogre-Troll’s heart.

Bang!

Two palms suddenly clasped Ethan Smith’s sword, and then a massive force surged through the blade.

That sword was fiercely flung towards the city below, but fortunately, Ethan Smith managed to withdraw his hands in time, preventing himself from being thrown down.

Before he could catch his breath, another line of Ogre-Trolls charged up.

With two of them rushing ferociously at him, upon dealing with those two, Ethan Smith was already feeling his body heavy.

The Ogre-Trolls may not match the Bear King, but they possess roughly sixty to seventy percent of its strength.

Moreover, once stimulated by blood and flesh, even if their hearts shatter and bodies fragment, Ogre-Trolls fight until their last moment.

“Fortunately, these Ogre-Trolls contain quite a bit of Holy Energy.”

Three strands of Holy Energy entered Ethan Smith’s Divine Soul, allowing him to finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Yet half the energy went into his Nine Heavens Condensing Pupil, beyond his control.

Ethan Smith’s chest heaved; his arms trembled slightly.

But this battlefield offered no respite.

This line of Trolls barely cleared out before another seven or eight already climbed the walls.

One of the soldiers guarding nearby hadn’t reacted before his head was seized and tossed into the mouth of a Troll, to be chewed.

What was most terrifying, one of them had a massive size.

It was nearly twice as large as the others, and as its club swung out,

The three soldiers in front instantly turned into minced meat, a mist of blood sprayed onto Ethan Smith’s face.

It walked toward Ethan Smith step by step, annihilating anyone attempting to block its path with one swipe of its iron rod.

Ethan Smith felt terror-stricken; this force possibly surpassed even three Bear Kings combined. If it were allowed to advance, similar doom awaited these human soldiers.

Ethan Smith clutched his eyes; currently, Nine Heavens Condensing Pupil’s power was limited, but using it might let him avoid its attack.

However, it’s his last resort; before he could further consider his tactics,

The Ogre-Troll lunged at him, raising its iron rod high to smash down upon Ethan Smith.

Despite its massive frame, it moved so fast Ethan Smith didn’t have time to react.

Just then, a supervising soldier stepped out from behind Ethan Smith, and with a crisp sound of the blade.

The Ogre-Troll was instantly slain into four parts, and the soldier retreated, returning to the Supervising Battle Team’s ranks.

“Luckily, this wasn’t a death trap; otherwise, if this Ogre-Troll had come through, it would’ve been the same fate for these soldiers. And Ethan Smith’s Retribution Seal has yet to cool down.”

Ethan Smith’s forehead was drenched in sweat; he’d already resigned himself to defeat before the Supervising Battle Team intervened.

“Anyone retreating without permission, die!”

A cold voice rang from behind Ethan Smith.

Almost without giving any pause, nearly twenty more Ogre-Trolls surged up.

At this moment, Ethan Smith couldn’t see the scenes below the city, but watching countless bodies getting dragged off the battlefield and these seemingly endless Ogre-Trolls, he could roughly gauge.

Facing another charge from two Trolls, after severing one’s legs,

He thrust a blade into another Troll’s head; however, it roared, slamming the stone it held into Ethan Smith’s chest.

A tremendous force pierced Ethan Smith’s body, draining color from his face.

Numerous bones shattered in his chest, yet none pierced his heart.

Without hesitation, Ethan Smith harnessed all his Divine Power to repair his body.
