Chapter 174 - 174 174 Encounter Danger

Chapter 174: Chapter 174 Encounter Danger Chapter 174: Chapter 174 Encounter Danger Yin Hehe didn’t return to the company until it was time to resume work in the afternoon, after her lunch.

“Han Lina, what’s the matter with you? I sent you out to handle some business, and you end up going to someone’s house for a meal. Do you have any sense of discipline at all? Don’t you even have basic common sense in your head?”

Indeed, the moment she got back, Huang Qin was hurling thunder in the Legal Department, and she even insinuated something was off about Yin Hehe.

Yin Hehe hurriedly explained, “No, it’s not like that, Lawyer Huang, that was a friend of mine.”

“Friend? So you run off to have a meal because of a friend? Do you know you are at work right now?”

“I…”

“Alright, I’m scared of people like you. From now on, don’t go anywhere; just do some brainless work around the company.”

After finishing her tirade, the woman flung a thick stack of files over to her.

Yin Hehe: “…”

It was a long while before she managed to adopt a very aggrieved expression and came out with the documents that needed to be archived.

“Why would Sheng Siyuan allow someone like her to join the company?”

“Exactly, she doesn’t even understand the most basic rules of workplace etiquette. Does she think she’s still a nanny at home?”

“Sigh…”

Upon coming out, her colleagues in the Legal Department all gave her looks as if she were an idiot.

Yin Hehe pretended not to hear and went to her workstation holding the documents.

She worked at her station all afternoon that day.

She wasn’t disturbed by anyone, and naturally, no one would think to ask her, deemed completely “useless,” to do any work.

So, she took this opportunity to access the internal network of the department, aiming to find the company’s shareholding agreement.

However, after an hour of searching, she couldn’t find any of these important documents in the electronic contracts archived on the internal network.

Could they be in paper form?

She slightly furrowed her brow…

“Lina? Are you still busy? Let’s go out for a cup of coffee.”

Lost in thought, Hu Xinxin suddenly appeared beside her desk, warmly inviting her for a coffee.

Yin Hehe: “…”

Well, a cup of coffee wouldn’t hurt to refresh her mind.

Yin Hehe stepped out.

Moments later, in the employee resting area on that floor, Yin Hehe, holding a freshly brewed cup of coffee, sat down with Hu Xinxin at a spot.

“Lina, I just heard that old shrew in your department scolding someone again. Was she scolding you?”

“Uh…”

Yin Hehe felt a bit embarrassed by the remark.

Could the scolding really be heard from so far away?

“Can’t help it, just got here and messed up,” she mumbled her explanation uncertainly.

Just as she said this, Hu Xinxin put down her cup with a “thud” on the table.

“This is not your fault. It’s clearly that old maid in your department’s doing. Let me tell you, before you came, there were already many newcomers who’ve been driven away by her scolding.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes, why else would she get the nickname ‘old maid’? So, Lina, don’t think there’s something wrong with you just because she scolded you. Next time you have any issues, just talk to me. I’ve been at this company long enough; I’m sure I can help you.”

Yin Hehe hadn’t expected the real reason Hu Xinxin had come to invite her for coffee was this.

Yin Hehe felt a warmth in her heart.

She looked sideways at the girl and after a pause, she nodded, “Mm, you’re right, I’m starting to think she’s doing it on purpose too.”

“Right? So what exactly happened?” asked the girl with a caring heart almost immediately.

Yin Hehe then opened up, “It’s about archiving, but I can’t find some of the really old contracts, and after I asked her a few times, she just got annoyed.”

“You can ask me about those. We have many of those old contracts in the sales department too, they’re usually kept in the archive room.”

“The archives room?” Yin Hehe’s eyes lit up.

“Yes, it’s where our company stores important documents. Each department has a key to the door, and I have one. I’ll take you there.”

Hu Xinxin was indeed a helpful person.

Yin Hehe immediately agreed.

The company shares contract was actually a very important document. If there were no electronic versions in the internal network, the only possibility was that it was preserved in paper form.

But where would this paper document be?

Yin Hehe followed Hu Xinxin to the archives room and indeed, upon entering, saw nothing but shelves, and on those shelves, all kinds of filed documents, endless at first glance.

“Lina, this section is for the Legal Department. Have a look.”

Before long, the familiar Hu Xinxin found the Legal Department’s shelf.

Yin Hehe quickly came over.

“This many?” She widened her eyes.

Hu Xinxin covered her mouth and chuckled, “Of course, the company has been around for so many years. Take your time looking. Just return the key to me when you’re done.”

After giving her instructions, she prepared to go back to work.

Yin Hehe busily replied in agreement.

For a moment, as the girl left, Yin Hehe began carefully searching in front of the shelf.

Unfortunately, half an hour passed, and she still hadn’t found anything.

Also, how could something so important be carelessly placed here? If it were here, Sheng Siyuan would have already taken it away.

She remembered what happened that morning.

Suddenly, her expression darkened, and she lost the urge to continue searching.

But just as she was about to leave, out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of another shelf.

“The Finance Department?”

She read the name on the shelf.

Minutes later, she looked back and forth in front of this shelf and slid aside the dusty box in the innermost part.

“Whoosh—”

Indeed, as the cardboard opened, a kraft paper envelope appeared among the bundled documents, and she immediately reached to pull it out, but at that moment, footsteps sounded from outside.

“Manager Fan, the archives room contains very important documents and materials, and now you actually let your assistant bring people in at will. If anything gets lost, can you take responsibility?”

“Yes, yes, yes!”

Along with the rebuke of a middle-aged man’s voice.

It wasn’t long before Yin Hehe, who was in the archives room, saw two people push the door open and storm in, one after the other.

Yin Hehe broke out in a cold sweat.

She thought about shrinking back to hide behind the tall shelves.

However, she noticed that after these two people entered, their footsteps were heading straight towards her location.

“Director Gao, don’t be upset. Although Hu Xinxin brought someone in, I just asked her, and that employee is from the Legal Department. She’s here to find their department’s materials. She wouldn’t understand anything about the Finance Department’s items.”

Suddenly, in the midst of their approach, Manager Fan spoke again.

In an instant, Yin Hehe’s face turned even paler.

It turned out to be the Finance Department’s Director!

It was over, this was really trouble…

Standing next to the shelf, in just a few seconds, a layer of cold sweat broke out on her back, almost soaking her entire body.

But even so, she didn’t let go of the kraft paper envelope in her hand; instead, as the two men got closer, a resolute expression appeared in her eyes!

“Hiss!”

She pulled it out.

Just then, the authoritative voice of a man from outside coldly drifted in.

“What are you doing?”
