Su Mu and Su Shiyue have been getting along well recently, but even so, it hasn’t led Su Mu to take care of her in every possible way. After saying that, Fu Shinian hung up the phone, and Su Shiyue looked at the dimming phone screen and smiled faintly.

Before long, Su Mu and Wen Han emerged from the private room, standing behind Su Shiyue. Su Mu spoke up: "It’s about time to head back."

"Okay, then you wait here for a bit, sister-in-law. I’ll go call the two kids."

Watching Su Shiyue’s retreating figure, Wen Han smiled: "You get along well with Su Shiyue now?"

"Mhm, the young lady was just too naïve before. These past few years, after experiencing so much, she has matured and become sensible. She’s now helping with my studio, and when she has time, she also keeps an eye on Qiqi for me. It’s quite nice."

Wen Han nodded:

"I can feel it; you truly enjoy this kind of life."

"Enjoyment might not be the word, but I do really like tranquility. If I could continue like this for a lifetime, that’s probably all I want."

Wen Han looked at Su Mu, his eyes somewhat deep. Su Mu felt it, but she never turned back to look at Wen Han. After a few seconds of silence, Wen Han also gradually smiled. He couldn’t say he never had the chance to give Su Mu such a life. He had, and he had tried his utmost to provide it. But even with that confidence, believing that he absolutely could provide her with tranquility, it wouldn’t be the tranquility she wanted.

In the tranquility she desired, there had to be an element of Fu Shinian, and that was something Wen Han couldn’t provide no matter what; even if he devoted his entire life, he couldn’t turn into Fu Shinian.

After leaving the hotel, Wen Shaoyuan arranged the next meeting time with Qiqi. Su Mu had no objections, and Wen Han also smiled, saying: "If it’s convenient later on, I’ll bring Shaoyuan to your studio every weekend. It would also be company for Qiqi, so they won’t miss each other too much."

Qiqi’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Wen Han and then at Su Mu:

"Really? Will you really do that?"

Wen Shaoyuan also smiled, gently touching Qiqi’s hair and saying softly: "Qiqi, don’t worry. Even if they don’t agree, I won’t let you go such a long time without seeing me again. I promise you that."

Hearing these words, Su Mu smiled faintly, looking at Wen Han:

"There’s nothing inconvenient. Even if I am busy, there are others in the studio, and Shiyue will be here to look after them. You can just send him over whenever it suits you, and if I am busy, I can come to pick him up."

The two children hugged reluctantly to part ways, but this time there was no sadness, for they were all looking forward to the next meeting, on the not-so-distant following weekend.

On their way back, Su Mu originally planned to drop Su Shiyue directly at the studio. Currently, she was not staying at Bishui Yuntian, so they both drove their own cars to work. Su Shiyue had come over in Su Mu’s car earlier, so now Su Mu needed to drive her to the parking lot not far from the studio entrance.

On the return journey, Su Shiyue hesitated for a moment before speaking up. She said:

"Actually, I don’t really need to go and get the car today."

Su Mu glanced up at Su Shiyue through the rearview mirror: "What’s up?"

"My brother is back." Su Shiyue looked at Su Mu. "Earlier, over the phone, he should have reached home by now."

Fu Shinian did mention he would be back these couple of days, but the message Su Mu received was for tomorrow. Unexpectedly, he had come back today, yet did not inform her. Su Mu showed no particular reaction, but upon hearing Su Shiyue’s words, Qiqi became excited and happy:

"Aunt, are you serious? Is my dad really back? Why didn’t he tell me? I thought he was still a long way from returning; I miss him so much."

When it came to Fu Shinian, Qiqi always had endless things to say. Su Mu just smiled and didn’t speak. Su Shiyue comforted Qiqi for a few moments before looking at Su Mu again:

"Now that my brother is back, isn’t the sister-in-law going to Bishui Yuntian?"

Su Mu shook her head:

"I’ve left everything in my apartment; I won’t go back today, maybe tomorrow."

She wasn’t really lying; since both of them had acted out this scene to this extent, seeing each other a day early or late really made no difference. So, the excuse that Su Mu gave, which seemed like one to Su Shiyue, was true. She really did feel it was inconvenient to go back suddenly. She subconsciously didn’t want to admit to that faint emotion inside her.

Su Shiyue wanted to say something else but ultimately kept quiet, smiling faintly:

"Alright then. But if my brother doesn’t see Qiqi today, he’s probably going to be sad."

Qiqi also said:

"Wooden, wooden, I want to see dad. Can we go back to see dad, please? Other than dad, I miss Great Grandmother too."

Actually, since Fu Shinian went on a business trip and Su Mu returned to her apartment, Qiqi had not been completely deprived of seeing the Great Grandmother. Su Shiyue would also occasionally take her back for a short stay, and leave her with the Great Grandmother when the weekend got busy. So perhaps Qiqi genuinely missed the Great Grandmother, but her true intention was definitely Fu Shinian.
