Chapter 524: Chapter 524: Married Before, But Never In Love

When Su Mu went downstairs, Wen Shaoyuan was still sitting on the sofa next to the reception desk, holding a bag of something and continuously looking in the direction from which Su Mu would come. Seeing Su Mu, he stood up and walked over first, smiling slightly:

"Aunt Su is well."

No matter what happened between Su Mu and Zhou Yaxian, and between Su Mu and Wen Han, Su Mu genuinely liked Wen Shaoyuan. She hadn’t seen him for a long time and missed him, but she hadn’t contacted him due to various considerations. Now that he had come, Su Mu was very happy:

"Why did you come over? Are you alone?"

Wen Shaoyuan’s expression was a bit unnatural, but he quickly smiled and answered: "Yeah, it’s the weekend, and I asked the driver to bring me here."

Su Mu smiled:

"Qiqi also happens to be in the studio, now playing in the small meeting room upstairs. I’ll take you to her."

Upon hearing that Qiqi was also at the studio, Wen Shaoyuan’s eyes lit up, and he readily nodded without any objections: "Thank you, Aunt Su."

Su Mu led Wen Shaoyuan upstairs. All the way, he held the bag tightly in his hand. Su Mu gave him several looks and asked with curiosity: "What are you holding?"

"Snacks and toys that Qiqi likes to eat. It’s been so long since I’ve seen her, and I was afraid she’d ignore me, so I brought some gifts." There was an anxious tone in Wen Shaoyuan’s voice as he paused at the second-floor stair landing and looked at Su Mu: "Aunt Su, is Qiqi angry with me?"

Su Mu squatted down in front of him:

"Why would Qiqi be angry with you?"

"I promised I wouldn’t leave her for too long in this lifetime, but I haven’t visited her recently. I know some things have happened between you and my dad, but those are just excuses and should not be the reason for me to break my promise to Qiqi. I think she must be very angry."

Su Mu couldn’t help but laugh and rubbed Wen Shaoyuan’s hair:

"Don’t worry, based on my observations of Qiqi recently, I don’t think she’s angry with you. She misses you, but probably she also didn’t call you impulsively to avoid disturbing you. She’s been asking to see you, but I dissuaded her fearing it might be inconvenient."

"Really?" Wen Shaoyuan’s expression lightened up.

Su Mu nodded and smiled: "Aunt Su wouldn’t lie to you."

"Thank you, Aunt Su." Wen Shaoyuan smiled as well, relieved: "I feel much better."

"Now that you’re feeling better, let’s go. I’ll take you to Qiqi."

Upon opening the door of the small meeting room, Su Shiyue was pretending to play house with Qiqi. Hearing the door open, Su Shiyue turned her head and looked at Su Mu as if seeking rescue: "Sister-in-law, save me, Qiqi wants to give me an injection, and I’m afraid it’ll hurt."

Su Mu couldn’t help but laugh:

"Well, I’m here to save you. Come out."

Su Shiyue then noticed Wen Shaoyuan standing next to Su Mu, and she smiled faintly. Even though she hadn’t seen them together, she had heard a lot from their grandmother about how they were childhood sweethearts and a match made in heaven. Thinking that this young couple hadn’t seen each other for so long, Su Shiyue didn’t want to be the third wheel and got up to leave.

However, Qiqi, who was sitting with her back to Su Mu, wasn’t aware and looked up at Su Shiyue:

"Auntie, if you’re sick, you need an injection, you can’t be disobedient."

Su Shiyue smiled gently:

"Qiqi, someone came to see you."

Qiqi heard this and removed the ’stethoscope’ to look over. Seeing Wen Shaoyuan standing at the door, she was slightly taken aback. In the past, the first thing she would do upon seeing Wen Shaoyuan was to put everything aside and hug him, but this time she was unusually quiet.

Su Mu didn’t plan on saying anything. She thought that her daughter’s slight moodiness was something Wen Shaoyuan could easily resolve, so she beckoned Su Shiyue to leave with her.

The moment the meeting room door closed, Su Mu clearly heard Wen Shaoyuan say, "Qiqi, I’m sick. Can you take a look at me?"

Su Shiyue stopped Su Mu who was about to leave and stood at the door:

"Sister-in-law, aren’t you worried they might argue?"

Su Mu smiled slightly: "You haven’t seen them together. You wouldn’t say that if you had."

Su Shiyue still looked bewildered and worried about Qiqi. Su Mu explained: "If one day Qiqi gets angry and won’t talk to me or Fu Shinian, the first person she will look for is definitely Wen Shaoyuan. She really cares about Wen Shaoyuan and listens to him."

After finishing, Su Mu walked away. Su Shiyue stood silently for a few seconds, then slowly turned to look at the meeting room. Through the glass, she saw Qiqi twisting her head away from Wen Shaoyuan, but her lips seemed to be barely holding back a smile. So, she slowly began to smile herself, realizing that maybe her worries were indeed unnecessary.

Su Mu returned to her office to continue working. Su Shiyue came in a few times to deliver documents. The last time, she asked with a hint of probing: "Sister-in-law, when will the shooting start?"

Su Mu looked up at her:

"Is there something?"

"No, it’s just that the weather hasn’t been great these days. If you’re going to shoot, you’ll start with indoor scenes, right? I want to learn photography, I wonder if I can come along?"

Su Mu laughed, switching her gaze from the computer screen to Su Shiyue with an amused look:

"Are you really interested in photography, or are you interested in the client who is about to be photographed?"

Su Shiyue’s face heated up slightly:

"Sister-in-law, what are you talking about? I don’t understand."

"Yu Qingzhou hasn’t come by for a few days, has he?" Su Mu looked at Su Shiyue: "I’ve never asked you but judging by your demeanor, it seems that you’re really taken with him. Do you like him?"

Trusting Su Mu a great deal, especially after spending time with her in the studio and witnessing her work ethic, Su Shiyue felt she had been blind before to have targeted such a woman. So, when Su Mu asked her this question, Su Shiyue hesitated for only a few seconds before choosing to answer truthfully:

"I don’t know if it’s love, but I really like the feeling of being with him. I want to see him, and every day I look forward to his messages. If I don’t get them, I feel anxious and down. But as soon as I see him, all my negative emotions disappear. I’ve never been in a relationship, so I don’t really know if it’s love."

Su Mu looked at Su Shiyue, smiled faintly, but ultimately refrained from giving her opinion. However, Su Shiyue felt the need to get some advice from her, so she pulled up a chair and sat down beside her, leaning her arms on the desk and eagerly looking at Su Mu:

"Sister-in-law, you’re more experienced, why don’t you tell me whether my situation is really about being in love or not?"

Su Mu chuckled softly and looked at Su Shiyue, speaking gently:

"Shiyue, I’ve never been in a relationship either."
