Chapter 467: Chapter 467: After Waking Up, Mad and Crazy

Zhou Yaxian woke up later than expected, not opening her eyes until nearly noon. Upon seeing the unfamiliar environment, she initially smiled and said aloud,

"Am I dead?"

At that moment, Su Mu was pouring water and hurried out of the small kitchen upon hearing the noise. He smiled happily upon seeing Zhou Yaxian awake, "Auntie, you’re awake? That’s great, you really gave me a scare."

In the past, Zhou Yaxian always greeted Su Mu with a smile, overjoyed, even after meeting again following the death of Wen Songyan, she was very polite. But this time, upon seeing Su Mu, her expression turned cold instantly. The rapid change caught Su Mu off guard, making him even think he had said something inappropriate, until she spoke again,

"Why are you here? Why aren’t you with Wen Han? Why did you come with me?"

Although Su Mu didn’t quite understand what Zhou Yaxian was saying, he still explained,

"Auntie, you took sleeping pills last night and Shaoyuan found you. Wen Han had you admitted to the hospital, and now we are in the hospital room."

"Hospital room?" Zhou Yaxian frowned upon hearing this, and quickly scanned around. She saw the vase on the bedside table, the fruit on the coffee table, and also the IV hanging above her bed—all of this seemed to touch her most sensitive nerve, causing her to react abruptly. Before Su Mu could react, she got up, removed her IV, and headed straight for the door.

But due to lack of physical strength, she collapsed to the ground. Su Mu quickly ran to help her up but was pushed away by Zhou Yaxian:

"Stay away from me, don’t follow me!"

She had never spoken so harshly to Su Mu before, but given Zhou Yaxian’s current state, Su Mu didn’t dwell on it. Seeing her trying to get up and head for the door no matter what, Su Mu instinctively got up from the ground and followed her, not catching up until the safety stairs. It seemed she didn’t intend to leave the hospital but rather to go upstairs.

What for? As the thought crossed Su Mu’s mind, he already knew the answer. He urgently called for medical staff, but no matter what they said, Zhou Yaxian refused their approach, and even started hitting out wildly—so unlike her usual graceful and dignified self.

She seemed like she had gone mad.

The medical staff, knowing Zhou Yaxian’s status, dared not restrain her too much for fear of causing any injury. In the end, it was Su Mu who said,

"Isn’t there a medication that can calm her down? Give her an injection."

The nurse hesitated:

"This, this doesn’t seem right."

"Not right?" Su Mu looked at the young nurse: "What do you think is right? Haven’t you seen where she wants to go? She didn’t kill herself with sleeping pills last night, now she wants to jump off a building. If you can bear the responsibility of her dying from a fall under your supervision, then go ahead and do nothing."

Startled by Su Mu’s words, the nurse hurried out. Su Mu then approached Zhou Yaxian, stopping just a step away, and began patiently persuading her,

"Auntie, you recognize me, right?"

"Su Mu." Zhou Yaxian nodded, "I know what you want to say, but I don’t want to hear it. I don’t have anything to hold onto, I just hope you and Wen Han can be happy, and that you take good care of Shaoyuan, then I’ve nothing else to ask for."

Su Mu nodded,

"I know, and I will do just that, but auntie, why must you do this? Shaoyuan is still so young, he hasn’t yet recovered from the pain of losing his grandfather. If he loses you now, don’t you think it will leave a scar on his childhood?"

Zhou Yaxian paused but didn’t speak, so Su Mu continued,

"And Wen Han, you don’t know how regretful and guilty he felt last night after your incident. He blames himself, saying it was his fault for neglecting you, not taking good care of you, which led to your thoughts. Even though I was by his side, it didn’t seem to help. I’m sure, if anything happened to you, it would destroy him."

"Impossible." Zhou Yaxian didn’t believe Su Mu’s words, "I know my son, he wouldn’t be so fragile, he’s strong."

"Yes, he is strong, he’s a soldier, has been on battlefields, fought enemies, but even if he’s bulletproof, who can remain indifferent to the death of a loved one? Moreover, in such a short time, you’re going to make him lose two close relatives, how can you bear that? Do you think if you leave now, go to another world and see your uncle, he would be happy? He won’t forgive you for abandoning his most proud son, his most beloved grandson; he will be mad."

Zhou Yaxian stood there stunned, Su Mu breathed slightly easier, just then the nurse appeared with a sedative. Seeing hope in his persuasion, he signaled her not to act rashly.

Su Mu took a step forward,

"Aren’t you always hoping for me and Wen Han to get married? But we haven’t even gotten engaged yet, are you sure you can leave with peace of mind? What if I change my mind? Aren’t you worried?"

While speaking, Su Mu tried to move closer, but at that moment, something set her off, and she started running upstairs even faster. Su Mu immediately called several medical staff to intercept her and restrain her on the ground, allowing the nurse to administer the sedative.

Although she continued to resist verbally, soon her body quieted down and she fell into a deep sleep.

The medical staff escorted Zhou Yaxian back to her room, and her primary doctor came for a comprehensive examination. Su Mu waited outside, hesitating with his phone in hand whether to call Wen Han. He had left so abruptly; she wasn’t sure if calling now would disturb his work. Just then, the doctor came out, and Su Mu pocketed her phone:

"Doctor, how is she?"

The doctor, having met Su Mu a few times and knowing her deep ties with the Wen Family, even potentially entering the family in the future, was very polite:

"She’s stable now, but no one knows if she’ll still have suicidal thoughts when she wakes up. Based on the reactions you’ve described at home, we’re preliminarily diagnosing Ms. Zhou with post-traumatic stress disorder and mild depression. Drug treatment isn’t very effective for these conditions; it requires the patience of a psychologist and the support and companionship of family members. It’s essential now to not leave her alone or expose her to any additional stress, lest the condition worsens."
