Chapter 280: Chapter 280 Transfer Agreement

Su Mu’s idea to go abroad for medical examination was sudden, and when her teacher from Jiang Bei urged her to return to Tokyo, Su Mu suddenly wanted to accompany her.

Jiang Bei saw through her real intention in an instant:

"Do you want to go abroad for a medical checkup?"

Su Mu didn’t speak, but her silence was as good as consent.

"Although I think it’s unnecessary, if you insist, there must be a reason. But Su Mu, are you really in a condition to go abroad right now? You don’t need to jeopardize your health and your child’s just to make Fu Shinian believe you; it’s not worth it."

Jiang Bei’s words caused Su Mu’s desire to fade, and she smirked at herself:

"You’re right, it really isn’t necessary."

Jiang Bei stayed in the apartment with Su Mu for two days, ensuring her mood and physical condition had stabilized before planning to head back to Tokyo. Her return was secret; even her parents weren’t informed, as she stayed by Su Mu’s side the whole time.

If possible, she truly wanted to take Su Mu with her, but it wasn’t realistic. She wasn’t sure if she could care for her amidst her busy work schedule, and she also doubted whether Rong Shen would come along, which might worry Su Mu further.

She wanted to return, but postgraduate studies were no joke.

When Jiang Bei booked her flight, Rong Shen’s call also came in. For a moment, she didn’t want to answer, but considering the consequences, she eventually pressed the answer button and walked to the French windows:

"What’s the matter?"

"You’re leaving so soon?"

Jiang Bei frowned slightly, "Are you monitoring me?"

"You’re my woman; shouldn’t I be informed of your whereabouts?"

Considering that Su Mu was still resting in the room, Jiang Bei suppressed her anger and merely responded indifferently, "Yes, I’m leaving soon."

"Pity, I’ve got things to take care of and can’t go with you."

"That’s good news for me."

Rong Shen chuckled on the other end of the line:

"You should pray that I finish my tasks here early, otherwise the longer we’re apart, the harder I will go on you when we again meet."

Jiang Bei disliked his way of speaking:

"If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up."

"Wait," Rong Shen stopped Jiang Bei from hanging up the phone, "Since you’re leaving tomorrow, come over tonight."

Jiang Bei’s patience reached its limit:

"Rong Shen, can you have some shame? Su Mu is still here with me, how can I come over? Can you please stop harassing me, I’m begging you, just leave me some dignity, would you?"

There was silence for a few seconds on the other side. Just when Jiang Bei thought he had agreed, he suddenly spoke:

"If you won’t come over, I will come there."

Jiang Bei’s loud voice ended up waking Su Mu. As she stepped out of the room, she saw Jiang Bei angrily throwing her phone onto the sofa. She couldn’t help but look at her with concern:

"What’s wrong?"

Jiang Bei shook her head, "Nothing much, but I might need to step out for a bit."

"Was that Rong Shen on the phone? Are you going to meet him?"

Jiang Bei didn’t answer. She just went back to her room to pack for tomorrow. Though she had brought nothing with her when she came, there was also nothing to take back. But other than this, she didn’t know how else to divert her nearly frantic emotions.

That night, she really should have shot him dead.

Su Mu didn’t follow her in, knowing that at this moment, Jiang Bei needed calm and definitely wouldn’t want herself to witness her losing control. She wanted to do something for Jiang Bei but didn’t know what she could do.

Looking at the phone Jiang Bei had tossed on the sofa, she walked over to pick it up aiming to find Rong Shen’s number. She knew the conversation might be futile, but it seemed like the only thing she could do. However, Jiang Bei, seemingly knowing her intentions, came out of the room just as she picked up the phone.

Seeing Su Mu holding her phone, she walked over, took it back, and gave a slight smile:

"You rest, I’m going out to buy some things."

"I’ll come with you."

"No need," Jiang Bei refused her, "I’ll be back soon."

Not long after Jiang Bei left, Su Mu’s phone rang. She glanced down and saw it was an unknown number. She wasn’t in the mood to answer, but the persistent ringing seemed to indicate something important, so she reluctantly pressed the answer button to her ear:

"Mrs. Fu, hello, my surname is Zhang. I’m an attorney from Fu Corporation’s legal department. Mr. Fu has a document here that requires your signature. May I know when you would be available?"

She knew this day would come, but Su Mu didn’t expect it so soon.

Despite being mentally prepared, when it actually came to this point, her heart inexplicably ached. But it was still bearable, perhaps because she had truly lost all hope.

"I am available anytime."

The two agreed to meet in an hour. Su Mu went back to her room to tidy up slightly before leaving. She didn’t tell Jiang Bei, to spare her from worrying.

Upon arriving at the agreed-upon coffee shop, the attorney hadn’t arrived yet. Su Mu chose a conspicuous spot by the window to sit down. It wasn’t the weekend, so there were few guests in the shop. When Mr. Zhang walked in, he immediately spotted Su Mu, not because he had met this mysterious Mrs. Fu before, but because hers was the only table occupied by just one person.

Approaching her, he still asked politely before taking a seat:

"Mrs. Fu?"

Su Mu looked up at him, smiling faintly as he appeared younger than she had expected:

"Please, have a seat."

Attorney Zhang, without any unnecessary words or ordering food, adeptly took several documents out of his briefcase, placed them on the table, and then slowly pushed them towards Su Mu:

"Here are two agreements, Mrs. Fu. Take a look, and if there’s no issue, you can just sign them."

At this point, the only agreements Fu Shinian could be offering her were divorce papers. Su Mu originally intended not to even glance at them before signing, but due to an inadvertent look, she saw something completely unexpected. She confirmed and reconfirmed it, then incredulously looked at Attorney Zhang:

"Mr. Zhang, are you sure you didn’t bring the wrong documents?"

Attorney Zhang smiled slightly:

"I’ve been an attorney for 20 years and have never made any mistakes."

Hearing this, Su Mu no longer doubted. She returned her gaze to the two agreements before her. One was a transfer agreement for Gui Ning Residence, and the other was for a shop she had rented earlier in the year, intended as a workspace. The agreement stated that all these properties would be unconditionally transferred to Su Mu’s name.

Divorce compensation?

This was the only possibility Su Mu could think of. But why? If Fu Shinian believed she had wronged him, according to his temperament, he would wish her dead. So why would he be so generous? Not to mention when he bought that shop, but just Gui Ning Residence alone would be in the ten figures.
