Chapter 108: Smashing the Car

Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Smashing the Car

Su Mu was a woman, and she too enjoyed shopping, so she and Jiang Bei would often make plans to go out together. Even recently, when she had browsed without buying anything, she still found pleasure in it. In contrast, now she seemed to have snapped up all the new collections from every major brand for the season but couldn’t find an ounce of enjoyment, and even felt completely exhausted.

She believed Fu Shinian felt the same, except that he hadn’t stopped, which only proved that he was still angry.

As noon approached, Fu Shinian and Su Mu went to the restaurant on the 7th floor. Rows of waitstaff and a dozen chefs were standing by, serving just the two of them. Some might think such a scene would greatly satisfy one’s vanity, but Su Mu just found it ludicrous.

Perhaps knowing that Su Mu had little appetite, Fu Shinian didn’t ask for her opinion and simply ordered two sets of meals. From where Su Mu was seated, she could look down and see the entire mall. She had been here before but this was the first time she experienced the emptiness of the shopping center during what should have been an exceptionally busy time.

Fu Shinian’s gaze landed on Su Mu. From the moment she started paying, her face had been expressionless, whether from restraint or numbness.

"How much balance do you have left on your card?"

Upon hearing this, Su Mu glanced at Fu Shinian and took out her phone to check:

"48 million."

"It seems this mall doesn’t have the capacity to make you spend all the balance on your card."

Su Mu caught his meaning:

"Do you want me to spend all the money in one day?"

"Why not?" Fu Shinian leaned back in his chair, "I specifically took the day off from the company to go shopping with you. Shouldn’t you feel happy?"

Su Mu gave a faint smile:

"Tell me, what do I have to do for you to let me go?"

"Don’t you like this feeling of buying, buying, buying?"

"I don’t." Su Mu looked at him. "I hate it."

Fu Shinian smiled slightly:

"That’s too bad, because I like watching you buy, buy, buy. So today’s game is far from over."

Having said that, Su Mu didn’t waste any more words. After they finished their meal, which was outwardly quiet but filled with tension, they returned to the first floor. The manager seemed to appear from nowhere, his face wearing a sycophantic and ingratiating smile:

"Mr. Fu, Mrs. Fu, all of today’s purchases will be delivered to your residence by our staff."

Standing by Fu Shinian’s side, Su Mu, upon hearing this, showed no expression but simply said:

"Mr. Fu, have you had enough of this?"

"Had enough?" Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu and smiled faintly: "Causing a fuss is something that children do. Mrs. Fu, do you really think I’m behaving like a child today?"

If this wasn’t considered childish behavior, then all the unreasonable demands in the world would be excused.

But Su Mu didn’t dare say this. She was worried about touching his fragile scales again and causing him to buy the entire mall. So, she just laughed and compromised:

"I’m tired. I want to go back."

"Is that so? Then I’m afraid Mrs. Fu will have to suffer a bit longer, because we still have many places to go."

Fu Shinian took Su Mu to a car dealership, employing the same exclusivity strategy.

Su Mu didn’t know much about cars, but the salesperson claimed that all the vehicles in front of them were limited edition top configurations, each worth eight figures. Su Mu looked on expressionlessly, just waiting for him to decide on one so she could pay the moment he did. But Fu Shinian, contrary to his routine from the morning, walked up to Su Mu and asked for her opinion:

"Which one do you like?"

Su Mu said indifferently, "I don’t like any of them."

Fu Shinian stared at her for a few seconds. Even without saying anything harsh, the people around him didn’t dare to breathe, feeling as though the air itself had become stagnant. Just as the car dealership manager was conflicted and considered stepping forward to say a few words of persuasion, Fu Shinian made his move.

He signaled to Song Yi with a simple gesture. Song Yi approached him, his breathing light:

"Mr. Fu."

"If there isn’t a single car here that can please Mrs. Fu and buying one would only waste garage space, then..." Fu Shinian casually pointed at a car, "start with this one. Smash it."

Song Yi’s eyes widened in disbelief, as did the car dealership manager’s, not to mention the sales staff who were already on edge. Su Mu frowned upon hearing this.

Song Yi didn’t move, but Fu Shinian was clearly angered:

"Didn’t you hear what I said?"

Song Yi hurriedly replied, "Mr. Fu, I... I can’t find anyone right away."

"What are those bodyguards doing outside? Did I hire them to be decorations?"

Song Yi dared not argue any longer and quickly turned to leave. The car dealership manager, having seen even Mr. Fu’s personal assistant chastised, didn’t dare to say a word, but fearing a real incident, he mustered the courage to speak:

"Mr. Fu, this..."

But he had barely begun to speak when he was met with a cold glance from Fu Shinian:

"What? Worried that I’ll only smash and not buy?"

"No, that’s not what I mean."

The manager dared not continue and quietly retreated to the side.

Su Mu knew that after this whole day of tension, Fu Shinian had reached his limit and was on the verge of erupting. She watched him quietly, aware that he was waiting for an opportunity, one that only she could give to end this farce. Su Mu wanted to end it as well, but unfortunately, she did not know what exactly Fu Shinian was waiting for.

When Song Yi and the bodyguards walked in, his gaze was fixed on Su Mu. He hoped she would speak up, but before Su Mu could even meet his gaze, Fu Shinian had already noticed:

"Why are you looking at her? Who pays your salary?"

Song Yi instantly shifted his gaze away, but looking at the sports car in front of him, which he would never be able to afford in his next life, although knowing he would still be chastised, he asked again:

"Mr. Fu, are you really going to smash the car?"

"Do you think I have so much spare time to joke around with you here?"

Song Yi felt like crying. What was wrong with his boss today? Why couldn’t he speak nicely? Where was his usual elegance, composure, and restraint? How had he suddenly become a flammable explosive package?

He wanted to say ’don’t smash it, give it to me instead,’ but he would never dare say such a thing. Finally, he took a careful look at Su Mu, still composed, and clenched his teeth before instructing the people behind him to start. Su Mu saw that Fu Shinian did not seem to be joking and, after biting her lip, called for a halt.

Su Mu stood in front of Fu Shinian, and it took all her effort to present her previous demeanor. She lowered her stance, softened her voice, hoping he would regain his senses and end the day’s drama.

Fu Shinian looked down at Su Mu in front of him, smiling faintly:

"Does Mrs. Fu have something to say?"
