Chapter 170: Are You Hiding Something from Me?

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Are You Hiding Something from Me?

Lan Shan left the pantry and didn’t head directly back to her seat, instead, she made a turn and went to Ye Xinluo’s workplace.

As she walked up beside her, she found her working and placed the cup she was holding on the table.

Ye Xinluo was startled, looked up at her in confusion, and said, "What’s wrong with you?"

Why do you look so grumpy, as if someone owes you a few million?

"Xinluo, are you still my Xinluo?" Lan Shan began asking.

"What happened?" Ye Xinluo put down her pen, pulled her over to a seat next to her, and felt her forehead. "You’re not sick! Who fed you explosives?"

Lan Shan swatted her hand away and said discontentedly, "Xinluo, are you hiding something from me?"

Ye Xinluo was taken aback, not quite knowing what was going on; they hadn’t seen each other for two days, and yet she seemed so upset.

So she smiled and said, "What could I be hiding from you?"

"Really?" Lan Shan said skeptically. She had known Mo Han for some time now, and he wouldn’t lie to her.

Since she wasn’t saying, she decided to ask herself. Leaning close to her ear, she whispered, "What’s your relationship with the CEO?"

This was something that couldn’t be known by others at the company, or it would cause a lot of trouble.

Hearing this, Ye Xinluo was a bit confused and asked, "No relationship at all. Shanshan, did someone say something to you?"

"Yeah." Lan Shan replied grumpily.

"What did they say to you?" Ye Xinluo asked.

"Someone told me they saw you sitting on the CEO’s lap." After saying this, she stared directly at her, and sure enough, saw Ye Xinluo’s expression change after she said it.

"Shanshan, you might be misunderstanding." She didn’t even need to ask to know who said this and quickly explained it.

"Really?" Lan Shan glanced at her and said, "Confess honestly when it all started with the CEO. Coming clean is being lenient; resisting is severe."

Ye Xinluo’s face turned unnaturally red. "What? We don’t have any relationship, okay!"

"Do you think I’d believe that?" Lan Shan raised an eyebrow, asking. The way she looked now, saying nothing happened, she wouldn’t believe it even if beaten to death.

Seeing that she couldn’t hide it anymore, Ye Xinluo bit her lip and leaned into Lan Shan’s ear, telling her the whole story.

"What?" Lan Shan exclaimed, and Ye Xinluo hastily covered her mouth, signaling her to keep it down.

Lan Shan made an OK gesture to her, and only then did Ye Xinluo let her go, helplessly saying, "That was an accident. I blacked out from drinking that day."

After saying that, she lowered her head, like a child who did something wrong.

"Why don’t you say it wasn’t intentional?" Lan Shan rolled her eyes at her.

"It really wasn’t intentional," Ye Xinluo mumbled quietly. Her voice was so low that Lan Shan couldn’t hear clearly. "What did you say?"

She quickly shook her head, smiled, and said, "Nothing, you misheard."

"You’re something else, getting blacked out with just one drink, useless." She poked Ye Xinluo on the head, looking exasperated.

Ye Xinluo chuckled, saying, "I didn’t deliberately hide it from you; I just didn’t know how to say it."

Such things are hard to bring up. If she hadn’t suddenly asked, I probably wouldn’t have told her either.

"Yeah, if Assistant Mo hadn’t walked in on it, who knows how long I’d be kept in the dark." Lan Shan pouted, huffily saying.

"Alright, alright, I was wrong. Stop nagging me and help me figure out what to do."

Just thinking about what Beichen Rui said gave Ye Xinluo a headache.
