Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Press Conference (1)

Ye Xinluo had been in the hospital for a day. Today the weather was clear, with not a cloud in the sky, a rare beautiful day.

Ye Xinluo looked much better today than the past two days, so after lunch, Lan Shan specifically asked the doctor.

After getting the doctor’s approval, Lan Shan helped Ye Xinluo go outside for a walk.

With the good weather today, there were quite a few people walking outside.

There was a small lake outside the hospital, and with Lan Shan supporting her, the two of them strolled leisurely along the lakeside.

"Shanshan, do you know where Shaoyu went?" Ye Xinluo asked in confusion. Since she woke up in the morning, she hadn’t seen Gong Shaoyu. She wondered what he was doing and where he went.

"I don’t know either." Upon hearing this, Lan Shan remembered that she hadn’t seen him all morning.

"He’s probably busy with work or something." Lan Shan suggested reassuringly.

"That’s true." Ye Xinluo nodded in agreement.

...

The two walked by the lakeside for quite a while until Ye Xinluo felt a bit tired, and then they slowly returned to the ward.

As soon as the ward door opened, they saw Gong Shaoyu in a black suit, standing by the window.

Hearing the movement behind him, he turned around and glanced over. "You’re back?"

"Shaoyu, where did you go this morning?" Ye Xinluo asked.

"Yeah, Brother Gong, where did you go? Did you eat anything?" Lan Shan chimed in.

Gong Shaoyu smiled and said, "I’ve eaten. I came over this time because I have something to tell you."

"Did something happen?" Ye Xinluo asked with concern.

Gong Shaoyu walked over to them and said, "There was a situation at the company, and I have to go back once."

Hearing this, Ye Xinluo finally breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "Then you should go back. After all, the company’s matters are important."

"Alright." Gong Shaoyu responded and then looked at Lan Shan, "Shanshan, do you mind if I call you that?"

Lan Shan shook her head and said, "Not at all."

Previously she might have minded because only Xinluo called her that. But after spending these days together, it was clear that Gong Shaoyu was a good person. He had taken care of Xinluo for so many years; how could she refuse such a small thing?

Gong Shaoyu nodded and spoke again, "I’ll leave Xinluo in your care."

"Alright." Lan Shan nodded. She would have done it even if he hadn’t asked.

"I’ve booked a flight at three o’clock. Housekeeper Ning is going back with me this time, and I will arrange for someone else to ensure your safety.

Give me a call if there’s anything you need."

After saying that, he glanced at his watch, "It’s getting late, I have to leave now."

He was about to walk out the door when Ye Xinluo called out to him, then looked at Lan Shan, "Shanshan, could you see Shaoyu off for me?"

In her current state, she couldn’t go out and walk much, so she had to trouble Lan Shan.

"Sure." Lan Shan nodded in agreement.

...

Following behind Gong Shaoyu, they arrived at the hospital entrance, where a Bentley was parked by the roadside.

Gong Shaoyu turned and looked at Lan Shan, saying, "You can head back now. Remember to call me if there’s anything."

"Brother Gong, be careful and stay safe on the road." Lan Shan smiled and said.

Gong Shaoyu nodded and then walked towards the car. At the car door, he glanced in Lan Shan’s direction before opening the door and getting in.

The car started and disappeared from Lan Shan’s view.

Coming back to her senses, she looked at the inpatient building, didn’t rush back, and instead headed to a supermarket near the hospital.

She bought some fruits that Xinluo liked and then carried the shopping bag back towards the inpatient building.
