Everyone nodded seriously, and Mu Yingchen took two steps forward to stand shoulder to shoulder with Su Ran at the doorway.

Just to the right of the door was a one-meter-wide dirt path connected to the temple, but because of the rain, the already narrow path had become even more difficult to navigate.

At that moment, one could clearly see a jumble of footprints on the path—they had walked in this direction!

"Be careful..." Mu Yingchen warned Su Ran.

Mu Yingchen and Su Ran stood still and looked up, scanning ahead. There was a rather steep slope in front of them, and because it was all dirt, one could see signs of slipping where someone must have lost their footing while going up.

With the slip marks left by those people as a warning, Mu Yingchen and the others were even more cautious, finally making it past the slope and continuing onward.

They hadn’t gone many steps upwards before the view suddenly opened up before them. Looking into the distance, they could see a gray, overcast sky and the peaks of numerous tree-covered mountains. This was truly the highest peak!

When they looked more closely, a shiver involuntarily ran down their spines. At the edge of the cliff on their right stood a dark mass of people!

At that moment, the firearms in those people’s hands were all squarely aimed in their direction.

And amongst them were Shanshan and Jian Manhui!

"Shanshan... Manhui..." Su Wanxia whispered in shock as she saw the disheveled state of the bound pair.

Shanshan and Jian Manhui’s mouths were sealed with tape, so when they saw Su Wanxia and her group, their eyes filled with an excited expression, yet they couldn’t help but worry for them.

The situation was clearly not in their favor!

"You’ve finally come... been waiting for a long time..." Bai Yudie let out a cold laugh upon seeing the group.

Both Mu Yingchen and Su Ran, upon their first glimpse of the scene, had fixed their sights on Bai Yudie.

Su Wanxia had been tense about Shanshan and Jian Manhui, so it was only when Bai Yudie spoke up that she suddenly looked towards Bai Yudie in the crowd with astonishment.

"Bai Yudie..." She opened her eyes wide in disbelief. She couldn’t have imagined that it was Bai Yudie causing all this trouble!

"Su Wanxia, long time no see!" Bai Yudie’s expression was extremely arrogant.

"Bai Yudie! You actually targeted a child?" Su Wanxia spoke angrily.

"What about the child? It’s her fault for being your daughter!" Bai Yudie’s voice turned sinister.

"Direct your grievances at me! Let them go!" Su Wanxia said as she watched Shanshan’s pitiable and disheveled state, her heart aching uncontrollably. She was still so young to suffer through such dangerous events, and it was all because of her, her mother!

Blame her, it’s all her fault!

"Direct them at you?" Bai Yudie teased, "So if I ask you to jump off this cliff, would you do it?"

Su Wanxia’s heart skipped a beat, her facial expression ambiguous.

Mu Yingchen finally spoke up, "Bai Yudie! I didn’t hold you accountable for what happened last time, but you’ve gone and done something like this again!"

Bai Yudie, caught off guard by Mu Yingchen’s words, suddenly went pale with arrogance.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about?"

Mu Yingchen sneered, "Don’t know? That time you had someone kidnap Wanwan, and schemed to make Ding Nianzi become mentally ill, have you forgotten all of these?"

Hearing Mu Yingchen’s words, Bai Yudie’s confidence waned even more, while Su Wanxia stared in shock, not expecting that it was Bai Yudie who had done that too! This woman is insane!
