Chapter 268: Chapter 266 Cultivating Affection with Eye Contact_1

Kang Xiaolan looked at Su Wanxia’s innocent young girl demeanor and let out a chuckle, then leaned in close to her and whispered, "Wanxia, you mustn’t take birth-control pills, they are really bad for the body."

Feeling embarrassed, Su Wanxia suddenly heard this from Kang Xiaolan and was taken aback. Since the time Mu Yingchen had thrown the medicine away in front of her, she hadn’t taken any.

As a result, they now had Shanshan and Yaoyao.

Thinking of her two little treasures, she couldn’t help but curl up the corners of her mouth, "Xiaolan, it’s not good to talk about this in front of your daughter, let’s change the subject."

"Uh--" Kang Xiaolan, feeling a bit awkward, glanced at Little Tuanzi lying in Jian Manhui’s arms, "Hehe, let’s change the subject then..."

Looking at Kang Xiaolan’s unserious expression, Su Wanxia was at a loss and looked heavenward. She wondered whether all married women’s faces thickened like this, especially those who had given birth to their second child?

"How are Ji Hua and Gong Yining doing? Are they planning to get married?" She didn’t ask about Mu Chuyang and Yan Yirou because she felt that the two of them hadn’t been together long enough and needed more time to adjust.

When Kang Xiaolan heard Su Wanxia’s question, her eyes went wide with exaggeration, "Wanxia, let me tell you, Ji Hua and Yining are already engaged, and they plan to get married on Qixi Festival next year."

"Really?" Su Wanxia was surprised; she really hadn’t known this.

"Yes, the parents of both sides have met each other. But your family’s big BOSS is still the guarantor," Kang Xiaolan glanced in the direction of the gentlemen.

"Mu Yingchen is becoming a matchmaker now. But it’s funny to think about it, having that big block of ice act as a matchmaker. Just thinking about it makes me want to laugh..."

As Kang Xiaolan spoke, she couldn’t help but burst into laughter again.

In fact, Su Wanxia couldn’t imagine what it would be like for Mu Yingchen to play matchmaker either. But, of course, that’s assuming Ji Hua and Gong Yining were willing to let him; otherwise, with a matchmaker like him, he would have been sidelined long ago.

However, Ji Hua truly struck gold in marrying Yan Yirou. With such a gentle and beautiful wife, he could wake up smiling from a dream. It was a good thing that rake turned over a new leaf early; otherwise, someone else might have chased Yining away long ago.

"Wanxia, where did you settle down overseas in these past few years?" Kang Xiaolan rolled her eyes, curious. She really hadn’t heard a peep from her in these past few years and was very curious about where she’d hidden herself to avoid being found by Mu Yingchen for so long.

"Hehe, in Canada," said Su Wanxia with a light laugh.

"Canada, huh... Mu Yingchen must have sent people to look for you, how come they never found you?" Kang Xiaolan was utterly puzzled. Were all the people he sent out just loafing around?

"Hmm—Considering how big Canada is, it’s normal not to find someone..." Su Wanxia would never tell her that all her information had been blocked by Su Ran, so those sent by Mu Yingchen to find her would definitely not be able to get any news of her.

"You have a point—" Kang Xiaolan thought about it and nodded in agreement.

The ladies chatted, the gentlemen sipped tea, and the children played—including Mu Chuyang and Yan Yirou, who were just like kids themselves, having a great time playing with the two little ones.

Before they knew it, lunchtime approached, and everyone, young and old, began heading in the direction of the dining room.

The butler had ordered the kitchen to prepare a lavish lunch, so when the kids arrived at the table, they were ecstatic to find their favorite dishes. That was the most satisfying thing for them.

Little Qingqing was still too young and was taken away by the nanny for feeding when mealtime came.

The dining table was rectangular and very long, so they sat on opposite sides of it.

Little miss Shanshan ran gleefully to Mu Yingchen and sweetly asked, "Daddy, I want to sit next to you."

Mu Yingchen was instantly indulgent and affectionately stroked her little head, then lifted her onto the dining chair.

"Shanshan, now that you have your real dad, you don’t even want uncle anymore~~" Su Ran stood to the side, shaking his head nonstop.

"Hehe, Uncle Ran, you have Aunty Manman, right? You just take good care of her."

The girl’s words had barely left her mouth when the whole table burst into roaring laughter.

Jian Manhui was utterly embarrassed. Since when had she acknowledged any sort of relationship with this man? Good heavens!

Su Ran’s face beamed with joy at Shanshan’s remark, and he gave her a thumbs-up. "Well said, uncle likes to hear that."

"Hehe."

As if by silent agreement, everyone picked their seats. Jian Manhui sat next to Shanshan, and Su Ran quickly settled beside Jian Manhui.

Su Wanxia, left without options, reluctantly moved to sit beside Mu Yingchen on his other side; she had actually wanted to sit next to her own daughter, but Jian Manhui and Su Ran had snatched the spots first.

Since the Mu brothers were opposite her, she had no choice but to take the seat on Mu Yingchen’s left.

A warm feeling unexpectedly filled Mu Yingchen’s heart. Wherever she was, his mood involuntarily improved.

No sooner had Su Wanxia sat down than Mu Yingchen suddenly reached out and took her hand under the table. She stared straight ahead, wide-eyed. Thankfully, no one on her opposite left side had noticed their little interaction for the moment.

She struggled a bit, but Mu Yingchen just clutched tighter, refusing to let go. Eventually, she turned her head and glared at him fiercely.

That look was clear: We’re eating, what do you think you’re doing holding my hand!

Unable to suppress a chuckle, Mu Yingchen was just enjoying the sensation of having her by his side. After so many years, she had never been with him during meals, and it was truly a difficult feeling to bear.

Annoyed, Su Wanxia deftly lifted her leg, stepping hard on Mu Yingchen’s foot, and then she delightedly swirled the tip of her foot twice over the top of his foot.

Mu Yingchen found her behavior incredibly cute, and the corners of his lips curled up in an utterly joyful smile.

Perhaps he was too happy, or Su Wanxia was too pleased with herself, so much that they didn’t notice the change in the atmosphere around the table, which caused everyone to look at them somewhat strangely.

"Brother, what are you and Wanxia spacing out for? We’re waiting for you to raise your glasses," said Mu Chuyang with a hint of insinuation.

Su Wanxia then came back to her senses and realized that all the others, except for the two little ones, were holding their glasses, waiting for them.

She promptly increased the pressure on her foot, venting her frustration before letting out a couple of dry laughs.

Mu Yingchen had just let go of her hand, and taking advantage of that, she hastily raised the wine glass in front of her with her right hand.

"Hehe, I spaced out a bit just now."

"Spaced out? We all saw it. You and my big brother were having an emotional exchange with your eyes," Mu Chuyang bluntly exposed.

Upon hearing Mu Chuyang’s words, Mu Yingchen smiled faintly, casually lifted his glass, and said softly, "We were cultivating our feelings with our eyes."

The hand holding Su Wanxia’s wine glass trembled. Goodness! Cultivating feelings with their eyes? This is a public place; how can he be so shameless!
