Chapter 266: Chapter 264: Bringing Up the Wrong Topic_1

Su Ran’s temples suddenly jumped a beat. This woman!

Now Shanshan was even more confused, "Aunty Manman, what does superficial mean?"

Jian Manhui was amused now, her face brimming with a smile as she looked at Shanshan, "Well, superficial means something like lacking discernment."

"Oh, I get it. So you mean Uncle Ran isn’t very handsome?"

"Not handsome at all!" Jian Manhui squeezed these words out through her teeth. In reality, that man was quite handsome, with a debonair charm, like a fair scholar in the wind. It’s just that he was a through-and-through hypocrite!

Su Ran burst into laughter at that point, "Manman, someday I’ll make you realize that I’m handsomer than any man out there!"

"Big talk!" Jian Manhui rolled her eyes at his departing back.

"Hehe..." Su Ran, catching a glimpse of Jian Manhui rolling her eyes through the rearview mirror, couldn’t help shaking his head with a silent chuckle. Sometimes, this woman was indeed quite cute.

Finally, they arrived at the Feng Family’s home. Su Ran went to park the car while Jian Manhui didn’t wait for him, taking Shanshan with her inside immediately.

Since Mu Feng had already informed the butler that they would have guests this morning, the butler had been waiting at the front gate early on.

"Miss Jian, you’ve arrived~~" The butler recognized Jian Manhui but paused upon seeing the little rosy-cheeked bundle beside her.

"Hehe, yes. Where are Xiaolan and the rest?"

"The young lady and the others are all in the back garden. I’ll take you there--"

"No need, no need. I know where she is. I think that the gentleman arriving behind might need your help more." Jian Manhui pointed towards Su Ran, who had just gotten out of the car, then smiled at the butler before pulling Shanshan along with her inside.

Once they reached the back garden, they were greeted by a burst of laughter and cheerful voices. Looking over the green lawn, it was abuzz with excitement, a jumble of both adults and children.

It turned out that Mu Chuyang was playing soccer with Mu Feng’s son, Mu Shiming.

"Wow, I want to play too—" The moment Shanshan saw the fun to be had, her eyes lit up.

Letting go of Jian Manhui’s hand, she ran off excitedly saying, "Aunty Manman, I’m going to play~~"

Just then, the soccer ball flew towards the little girl’s direction and rolled right in front of her. Without a second thought, she stretched out her little hands and hugged the ball to her chest.

Little Mu Shiming felt quite downtrodden, wondering why every new arrival had to pick up his ball with their hands today.

"Little sister, you’re not supposed to touch the soccer ball with your hands—" Mu Shiming called out again to Shanshan, who had hugged his ball.

The others followed his voice and looked in Shanshan’s direction. Surprised by what they saw, they exclaimed, "Wow, the little clever one is here~~"

Mu Chuyang was the closest to Shanshan. He walked towards her with a playful smile, "Shanshan, come play soccer with Uncle—"

"Why play soccer? Come here, little cutie, let Aunty give you a kiss first." Yan Yirou jogged over and, without waiting for Shanshan’s consent, hugged her rosy cheeks and planted a loud kiss.

"Come on, Little Shanshan, Aunty hasn’t hugged you yet. Let Aunty give you a cuddle—" Kang Xiaolan also came over from behind, bending down to pick up Shanshan’s little body in her arms.

Mu Shiming, standing nearby, was incredibly sullen. Ever since having a little sister, he couldn’t remember the last time his mommy had hugged him, and now, instead of hugging her own son, she was hugging another little girl!

After lifting Shanshan, Kang Xiaolan also kissed her soft, adorable cheeks.

"Shanshan, do you know who I am?"

"Shanshan, do you know who I am?" Yan Yirou leaned in closer again.

"Shanshan, I’m your Aunty Lanlan—"

"Yo, Kang Xiaolan, aren’t you being cheesy with that ’Lanlan’? I’m ’Lulan’ then."

"We’re not talking to you, Aunty Lulan—" Holding a somewhat bewildered Shanshan, Kang Xiaolan made her way toward the area where Su Wanxia and the others were.

Yan Yirou was stunned, standing in place, her lips twitching incessantly.

"Lanlan, let’s go, we should head over too," Mu Chuyang reached out and pinched her cheeks, teasingly.

"You’re the green one!" Yan Yirou stamped her foot in protest.

Mu Chuyang suddenly looked up and burst into laughter--

Yan Yirou glanced at him with a sorrowful expression and dragged the quietly giggling Jian Manhui over to where the others were.

Su Wanxia noticed that Jian Manhui and Shanshan had arrived but Su Ran’s figure was nowhere to be seen.

"Manhui, isn’t Su Ran...didn’t he come with you?" Could it be that Su Ran didn’t want to come and had gone back ahead of them?

"Uncle Ran is back there--"

Before Shanshan could finish, everyone saw the butler leading Su Ran from the front yard.

The early spring sunshine was bright, casting a layer of gold on his slightly long hair, a blue shirt, black trousers, black leather shoes, and that handsome yet somewhat aloof face with a hint of a smile.

"Wow! Top-notch!" Yan Yirou couldn’t help exclaim as she watched Su Ran approaching.

"Rourou, I’m handsomer than him--" Mu Chuyang brought Yan Yirou’s elongated head in front of his own face with displeasure.

For some reason, Jian Manhui felt a moment of nervousness when Su Ran’s gaze fell upon their group!

Realizing her own odd reaction, she quickly shifted her gaze away from him.

What’s there to look at, isn’t it just a nose and two eyes!

"Manhui, you’ve scored this time. That man is clearly not ordinary," Kang Xiaolan whispered to Jian Manhui.

Jian Manhui looked up at the sky speechlessly. What they saw was just an illusion; this man was nothing but a hypocrite!

Su Ran greeted everyone with gentlemanly decorum before casually joining the men’s gathering.

"Welcome to my home," Mu Feng stood up and extended his hand to Su Ran.

"Heh, thank you," Su Ran responded with a courtesy.

"It seems I can see you everywhere," Mu Yingchen said aloofly from his seat.

Su Ran smiled and then took a seat, "The same for you. Wherever Wanxia is, there’s sure to be President Mu’s figure."

Mu Yingchen instantly shot him a cold glance. His Wanxia? This man really knew how to push his buttons!

What Su Ran said wasn’t wrong; until Su Wanxia married him, she was indeed the Su Family’s daughter.

That was what vexed Mu Yingchen the most.

"Still better than some who can look but can’t touch!"

Now it was Su Ran’s turn to feel vexed, as so far, he had only touched that woman’s hand, and that too was only a handshake as a courtesy during their first meeting.

Mu Feng almost choked. What was going on with his elder brother today, picking a fight with this man named Su Ran? They didn’t seem to be rival suitors, did they?

The way these two grown men were at loggerheads, those unaware would think they were romantic rivals!

For some reason, ever since Su Ran had taken Su Wanxia away that day, Mu Yingchen had held a deep grudge against him, and no matter how he looked at him, he was displeased.

As for Su Ran? He couldn’t stand how Mu Yingchen broke his promises and still had such an attitude towards him.

His woman and child, after all, were under his care. He should show him some respect. If they really went by seniority, Mu Yingchen ought to address him as Uncle Ran!
