Chapter 227: Chapter 227 Outrageous!_1

Jian Manhui looked at Su Wanxia’s angry expression, and immediately let out a soft chuckle, finally seeing a normal reaction.

"I don’t like that white lotus flower either, but maybe Mu Yingchen’s taste has changed, and now he likes her delicate and pitiful look--tsk tsk--but that woman really knows how to play her part, acting all innocent when she’s actually a venomous scorpion--"

Listening to Jian Manhui’s words, Su Wanxia felt even worse and glared at her fiercely, "Are you purposely poking at my wounds?"

Jian Manhui giggled, "No, no, I was just saying, hehe."

"Hmph..." Su Wanxia huffed angrily.

Even though she knew it might be one of his tactics, her heart still felt uncomfortable, especially because the object of his affections was Bai Yudie, which infuriated her.

"Wanxia, can I ask you a question?"

"What question?"

Jian Manhui hesitated for a moment before carefully asking, "Just now, I overheard Uncle Su saying something about your parents, what’s that all about?"

Su Wanxia looked up at her and slightly curved the corners of her lips, her voice somewhat drawn out, "Manhui, I’m not my parents’ biological daughter--"

Jian Manhui was shocked, she had braced herself when she heard Uncle Su mention it, but hearing it from Wanxia herself still made her inevitably shocked.

"But, you look so much like Auntie Su---" So similar, how could she not be their biological daughter?

She had never doubted Wanxia’s identity before, because both Uncle Su and Auntie Su were so kind to her, and she even resembled Auntie Su quite a bit. It was unimaginable for anyone to think that she wasn’t their own flesh and blood.

"My mom is actually my biological mother’s sister--"

"Oh..." Jian Manhui realized, so that was the case, no wonder they looked so alike.

"Then your biological parents, are they--"

"They have passed away--" Su Wanxia’s voice sounded a bit ethereal.

"Oh---sorry about that..."

"Hehe, you’re not an outsider, it’s okay for you to know--"

Suddenly, Jian Manhui remembered something and exclaimed, turning to Su Wanxia, "When I was coming here today, I passed by the Mu Group building, and you wouldn’t believe how many reporters were gathered there. Impossible to count them all--"

Su Wanxia rolled her eyes boredly, "Then why didn’t you stop and count exactly how many people and how many reporters there were?"

"Wanxia, I’m serious here, they must have been there to corner Mu Yingchen. You might even see him on TV today." Jian Manhui suddenly started gossiping.

Su Wanxia frowned at her, "Big shot lawyer, this doesn’t seem like your style."

"Eh, am I not doing this for you? That’s why I’ve become so gossipy."

"Cut it out, really?"

"Yes, definitely."

The two of them talked without any reservations inside the room, not realizing that what they said had already been overheard by the Little Witch who had been eavesdropping at the crack of the door for quite some time.

Shanshan heard them talking about some contract, but most importantly, she overheard news about her daddy.

Mu Group?

So, daddy is at the Mu Group--

Great!

Hearing this, the little one tiptoed down the stairs and then starting making little plans in her heart.

She stood by the stair railing for a moment, then her eyes scanned around; Su father and Su Ran were engrossed in their chess game, heads bowed.

Su mother was bustling around in the kitchen, while her mommy and Aunty Manman were having a heart-to-heart upstairs.

So, now that no one was paying attention to her, it was the perfect time to sneak out and find daddy.

Her eyes twinkled as she tiptoed ever so lightly towards the door.

Since Su father and Su Ran were playing chess behind a partition and wouldn’t lift their heads, they would never notice Shanshan’s subtle movements. Besides, their focus was entirely on the chessboard—who would notice Shanshan?

The little one scurried to the door, carefully opened it, then just as carefully stepped out, and gently closed the door behind her.

All her actions were stealthy and unnoticed; however, when she reached the main entrance, she couldn’t escape the vigilant eyes of the security guards.

"Little Miss—"

Shanshan, far from feeling guilty or angry at the sight of the two black-clad security guards before her, looked at them happily.

"I was just looking for you guys. Hurry up and take me somewhere," the little one commanded like a tiny queen, not waiting for a response and marching to the front gate.

"Little Miss, where do you want to go? Do your sister and Brother Ran know?" one of the guards asked as he followed her.

"Uncle, if they didn’t know, how could I have come out?" Shanshan replied with a nonchalant expression.

"Stop asking so many questions. I’m carrying out an errand for my mommy, so hurry up—"

With that, she opened the door of a parked car and climbed in.

The security guards believed her, thinking that since Little Miss indeed came out from the house and with the sister, Brother Ran, and so many others inside, what Little Miss said must be true.

With this thought, one guard got into the car with her, while the other sat in the driver’s seat.

"Little Miss, where to?"

The child grunted with an air of maturity, crisply saying, "To Mu Group..."

The guard in the passenger seat frowned upon hearing this. Mu Group? What was she going to do there?

They didn’t know who the little one’s biological father was, so they had no idea of her intent.

"What are you going to do there, Little Miss?" the guard couldn’t help but ask.

"I’m going to help mommy find someone. You’ll know when we get there. Now go, mommy is waiting—"

"Yes—" Hearing this, the guard dared not delay any further.

The black sedan started slowly, followed by two other cars, gradually accelerating in one direction.

Meanwhile, back at the Su Family home, everything remained as it was before Shanshan’s departure, except that Su mother had moved from the kitchen to the side of Su father and Su Ran to watch the chess game.

She thought Shanshan had gone upstairs—

And the two upstairs had always assumed that little rascal Shanshan was downstairs with her grandma—

So, for the time being, nobody noticed her absence.

And in distant Canada, in a palatial living room, Su Qinglong furiously slammed the newspaper onto the thick carpet with a whoosh.

At the same time, he cursed out loud, "That old bastard! I, Su Qinglong, haven’t even settled the score with him yet, and he dares to announce the wedding news of his good-for-nothing grandson! Outrageous! Simply outrageous!!"

Su Qinglong stomped in anger. His precious granddaughter had gone through so much trouble to bear two lovely children for that worthless fellow, and here he was, not fulfilling a single duty and audaciously publicizing his marriage news. Wasn’t that a blatant slap in the face of the Su Family?

Were the Su Family people so easy to bully?
