Chapter 172: Grinding Spirit_1

Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Grinding Spirit_1

Mu Yingchen gently placed her by the bed and then whispered softly, "I’ll go run the bathwater..."

Su Wanxia’s face flushed red again, and she quickly lowered her head, uttering a small "mm-hmm."

Mu Yingchen silently chuckled, then turned and walked towards the bathroom.

Only then did she lift her head to gaze at his tall and lean figure, her heart pounding erratically.

It wasn’t long before Mu Yingchen came out of the bathroom, removing his coat while walking and revealing the black tight sweater underneath. The sweater clung to his body, showcasing his enchanting chest muscles.

Su Wanxia shyly looked away, her gaze drifting aimlessly around the bedroom.

A glimmer of light flashed through Mu Yingchen’s deep eyes; he couldn’t help but curl his lips into a smile and leisurely approached Su Wanxia.

"Shall we together--"

Suddenly, Su Wanxia scooted further into the bed, "You go ahead, I’ll wash later."

However, it was clear that her refusal meant nothing to Mu Yingchen.

As if he hadn’t heard her, he extended his arm to drag her to the edge of the bed and swept her into his arms.

"It’s late; together will be quicker," he said, his voice magnetic with a husky edge, exceptionally suggestive.

Su Wanxia blushed and her heartbeat quickened, fully aware that going into the bathroom meant it wouldn’t be just a bath.

Perhaps because they hadn’t been together for so many days, Mu Yingchen was even more passionate and wild than usual!

Not until Su Wanxia was thoroughly exhausted and lacked the strength to even move did he finally let her go, panting heavily next to her.

Su Wanxia lay in his arms, barely breathing, too lazy to even lift her eyelids.

Mu Yingchen tenderly brushed the hair from her forehead aside and gently pressed a kiss there.

"Sleep," he said.

Su Wanxia pouted with her eyes closed, feeling so tired. If she wasn’t allowed to sleep now, she would honestly pass out from exhaustion.

After inwardly complaining for a bit, she fell soundly asleep.

Gentleness and affection, too dense to dissolve, filled Mu Yingchen’s deep eyes.

He drew her closer into his embrace, his chin resting lightly on her forehead as he murmured, "Wanwan--we will definitely be happy~"

The next morning, when Su Wanxia woke up, Mu Yingchen was no longer by her side.

She frowned in dissatisfaction, wondering why he was never there when she woke up. The feeling was incredibly frustrating, leaving her with the sense that he would just leave after having his fill of her.

She huffed and pulled the blanket tighter around herself, lying back down in the bed.

Since she didn’t have work and the weather was so cold, she might as well stay in bed a little longer.

She glanced at the clock; it was just past eight, still early.

As she aimlessly rolled around in bed, wrapped in the blanket, someone suddenly opened the door to the bedroom.

Just by moving her toes, she knew who it was. Apart from Mu Yingchen, there was no second possibility for someone to come in directly -- unless that second possibility was herself.

"Why are you still in bed when you’re awake..." Mu Yingchen walked elegantly to the bedside, looking down at the person lazing in bed.

Seeing him enter, the stifling feeling in Su Wanxia’s heart suddenly resurfaced.

She pouted and gave him a resentful glance before turning her gaze away.

Mu Yingchen raised an eyebrow, his face filled with indulgence as he looked at her, the smile on his lips impossible to hide.

"Are you hungry?" he asked softly.

He thought she was still sulking about last night’s incident, something he had grown quite accustomed to.

But Su Wanxia simply ignored him, continuing to turn her face away.

Now he couldn’t help frowning. Still in high spirits? But she wasn’t that angry last night, was she? Why was she not even glancing at him this early in the morning?

He took another two steps forward and sat at the edge of the bed.

"Sweetie, get up. I promise, I’ll try my best to restrain myself from now on, okay?" He leaned in closer with a light chuckle.

Su Wanxia was speechless. What was he even talking about?

Mu Yingchen, seeing that she still wasn’t paying him any attention, raised his eyebrows in surprise.

Why wasn’t it working? Normally, as soon as he said these things, she would immediately start smiling and bargaining with him, making him promise over and over again. Why was there no reaction today?

"Okay?" he softened his voice even further.

All of a sudden, Su Wanxia blew up. She sat up abruptly from the bed, looking at him angrily and said, "Who asked you to promise? Besides, I won’t believe any of your damned promises anymore. You talk sweet but once you’re in bed, you forget everything!!" She was completely a beast!

She didn’t dare to say that last sentence aloud, fearing that once the words left her mouth, he would immediately let her experience what a real beast was. She bet this man would definitely do it!

Mu Yingchen looked at her in surprise as she lost her temper, his tone teasingly interested, "Then what are you angry about?"

At the same time, he couldn’t help sighing to himself, lamenting why his promises no longer worked. It turned out she didn’t intend to believe anything he said at all. No, he had to come up with something quickly, otherwise, if he really had to restrain himself, he would go mad!

When Su Wanxia heard him ask that, her angry expression faltered slightly. She hummed twice but didn’t manage to articulate a reason.

She would absolutely not tell him that she was mad because every morning when she woke up, she couldn’t see his scheming, dark soul!

"Hm? Tell me--" Mu Yingchen stared at her intently, luring her like coaxing a child.

His gaze seemed to say, tell me, and you’ll get candy.

Su Wanxia couldn’t help but twitch the corners of her mouth. Did he really think she was a three-year-old to be fooled by him every time?

This time, let her, the brilliant genius, seduce this cold, scheming man with a dark soul--

"Want to know?" She switched to a gentle and charming expression.

Mu Yingchen’s eyes twitched, why did that line and expression look so familiar?

But to go along with her, he still nodded and made a soft sound of agreement.

Su Wanxia grew even more smug. "Alright, if you want to know, you’ll have to agree to a condition."

Mu Yingchen raised an eyebrow, wondering what she was plotting with that little brain of hers.

"Okay," he nodded.

"If you manage to be the first thing I see when I wake up every morning, then I’ll consider telling you," said Su Wanxia as if it mattered greatly.

Mu Yingchen didn’t immediately grasp the meaning of her words, thinking she was just making things difficult for him on purpose.

He started analyzing it in his head, to be the first thing in her line of sight?

He was used to waking up at 6 or 6:30 a.m. every morning to exercise. After his workout, he would read the morning paper, and then he would attend to other things. This had been his routine.

However, when she was around, he would stay in bed with her a little longer, but the habit of morning exercise remained.

Based on his observations these past days, she usually woke up between 7:30 and 8 a.m.

So after his workout, he was supposed to sit vigil at her bedside at that exact time?

He frowned, this little imp---
