Chapter 169: Chapter 169: Durians Are So Much More Substantial Than Keyboards_1

Jian Manhui looked at the couples around her and immediately shook her head with a sigh. It seemed she was more suited to focusing on her work than being here, watching them flaunt their love.

Although it didn’t affect her much, it was still somewhat awkward.

Yan Yirou blatantly ignored the malicious intent in Mu Chuyang’s eyes and approached Su Wanxia with a carefree attitude.

"Wanxia, congratulations, you’ve been discharged from the hospital again,"

The corner of Su Wanxia’s mouth twitched. What was this again about being discharged? This was only her second time; it made it sound like she was constantly in and out of the hospital.

"Why are you guys so slow~~"

"It’s rush hour after work, big sister--"

Su Wanxia looked frustrated, clearly very dissatisfied with being called big sister.

"Now that everyone’s here, let’s start the meal!" she turned and said to Mu Yingchen.

Mu Yingchen nodded elegantly in agreement.

At the dinner table---

Ji Hua kept putting food into Gong Yining’s plate and then said to everyone, "Have you ever tried the dishes she makes?" pointing his chin in Su Wanxia’s direction.

"Well, no, I haven’t," Yan Yirou shook her head. She had tried Yining’s cooking, Xiaolan’s too, and even Manhui’s, but never Wanxia’s.

"You guys should try her cooking sometime. I guarantee it will be unforgettable~" Ji Hua said with a mysterious expression.

"Yeah, Wanxia, didn’t you say you were quite skilled? One day you should show us," Mu Chuyang looked up at Su Wanxia.

Su Wanxia gave a dry laugh, feeling embarrassed. What was Ji Hua talking about? Was her cooking that bad? He made such a fuss about it.

Mu Yingchen simply continued to serve food to Su Wanxia, smiling without saying a word.

"Hehe, sure, someday I’ll let you all taste my cooking skills."

"Yeah, we must, definitely. I’m telling you all, the dishes Wanxia makes are the most delicious I have ever eaten, truly chef-level," Ji Hua told everyone as if it were a fact.

Su Wanxia was speechless, wondering how the sky could stand hearing such nonsense. Next time something burned, she’d make him eat it all by himself.

Others might not understand what he was saying, but how could she not? He was clearly mocking her in different ways.

"Really? Wanxia, I didn’t expect that after a few years abroad, your cooking skills improved so much," Yan Yirou said, surprised.

"Hehe, it did improve a bit," Su Wanxia said, her expression conflicted.

"However, the chef at big brother’s house truly is top-notch. The dishes are delectable," Ji Hua mumbled to himself before adding another rib to Gong Yining’s plate.

Gong Yining felt depressed. If it was delicious, why didn’t he just eat it himself? Why did he always have to put it in her plate? Fine, he can put food there, but why always meat dishes? She preferred vegetarian dishes.

"Ji Hua, Yining seems to like vegetarian more. Why do you keep giving her meat?" Kang Xiaolan couldn’t help but speak up.

"Err, hehe," Ji Hua suddenly laughed awkwardly.

"Oh, I see now, those are all the dishes you like, right?" Mu Chuyang stretched his neck to have a look.

Ji Hua glanced at Gong Yining and then began shifting meat back to his own plate.

"Hehe, I forgot while chatting with you guys."

Su Wanxia couldn’t help but look down on him. He was really something, serving Yining food not because she liked it, but because he did. What kind of logic was that?

"Yining, next time he does that, make him kneel on durian!" Yan Yirou suddenly put down her chopsticks and spoke fiercely to Gong Yining.

"Cough--cough--" Mu Chuyang was sipping on red wine when the comment caught him off guard, causing him to choke severely.

"Ew, how can you be so gross while we’re all eating?" Yan Yirou looked at him with disgust and then didn’t forget to pass a napkin his way.

Everyone burst into laughter---

Mu Chuyang’s face turned red and his neck thick as he took it, wiping his mouth while pondering in his heart.

Durian? Goodness! That thing is certainly more real than a keyboard. How can this woman even have such a hobby?

The most frustrated one might not be him, but rather Ji Hua himself. I mean, every time they see Xiaoning, they either make him kneel on a keyboard or on durian. How is he supposed to live like this?

What kind of besties are these? Break it off, they definitely should break it off!

"Can we still enjoy our meal happily?" He said with a face full of dismay.

Everyone immediately laughed out loud---

After dinner, Ji Hua and Mu Chuyang suggested everyone go for KTV, as it had indeed been a long while since they’d all gone out for fun.

"Sure, it’s still early, let’s go have some fun," Yan Yirou said excitedly.

Su Wanxia saw how enthusiastic everyone was and immediately looked towards the silently brooding Mu Yingchen.

"What do you think? Want to go?" She asked aloud.

Mu Yingchen looked up at her, his face unfazed: "If you want to go, we’ll go."

He didn’t give a damn about anyone else’s opinion, throwing the decision squarely on Su Wanxia.

Su Wanxia was speechless. What was he even saying? Couldn’t he see that Yirou, Ji Hua, and the others wanted to go? It’s not like he’d lose a piece of himself by agreeing--

Mu Yingchen, seeing her somewhat annoyed expression, smiled helplessly and shook his head.

He asked for her opinion merely because he feared she was still bothered by earlier events. If she wanted to go, then he’d accompany her; if not, they could let Ji Hua and the others go have fun.

"Let’s go then, it’s not often we all get together," Su Wanxia said softly, looking at everyone.

"Great, let’s get ready and head out," Yan Yirou stood up first.

"Yeah, let’s go."

The winter night was particularly cold. The dim streetlights revealed a thin mist hanging in the air, hazy and indistinct.

With Mu Yingchen around, there was no need to discuss where to go. Everyone instinctively drove straight to Yemei.

Despite the cold weather and heavy dew at night, Yemei was bustling with people at its peak.

As they entered the main door, they were immediately enveloped by a wild, spicy atmosphere.

Mu Yingchen frowned involuntarily. He really disliked places like this.

An alert waiter greeted them warmly upon seeing them, apparently new to the job and oblivious to their status. He politely inquired about their needs.

"No need to go to any trouble, we have a private room. Just let your manager know that Mr. Mu has arrived, and that’s OK," Ji Hua said with authority, patting the young waiter’s shoulder.

Hearing this, the waiter, assuming they were important regular customers, became a bit nervous, nodded, and after asking if they needed anything else, turned and walked away—likely to report to his manager.

Ji Hua led everyone down a familiar path to their usual private room. As soon as they entered, the manager came running over.

He rushed in, then froze in shock---

My gosh, he wasn’t seeing things, was he? Why were all these top bosses here today?

He thought it was only young master Mu Feng who had arrived, but who would have thought that both young master Ji and young master Chuyang were there too--
