Chapter 165 She Was Wronged_1
Chapter 165: Chapter 165 She Was Wronged_1
Mu Yingchen pushed the door open and came in, but he didn’t speak, his obsidian-like pupils filled with an indiscernible expression she couldn’t understand.
"What’s wrong with you?" Su Wanxia had the intuition that he must have something on his mind.
"Haha, nothing." There was a hint of stiffness in Mu Yingchen’s voice.
"Then why were you gone for so long?" Su Wanxia inquired, looking at him closely.
"There was something at the company, I took a call." Mu Yingchen slowly walked to the bedside and sat down next to her, gently embracing her, then buried his head in the nape of her neck.
"Let me hold you for a while~~" His voice carried a trace of ethereality.
Su Wanxia raised an eyebrow, feeling that he seemed a bit off since he came back.
Mu Yingchen hugged the person in his arms tightly, almost obsessively inhaling her sweet, familiar scent.
It turned out--he had wronged her!
It was all because of him, because of his mother.
His Wanwan, oh, why so foolish, why didn’t she tell him the truth about everything?
She actually bore so much on her own, and he was completely clueless, even blaming her for breaking up with him for no reason, then just like that, coldly disappearing from his world.
His heart began to ache slowly---
Although he didn’t know what agreement she had with his mother, he did know that she loved him, she had always loved him.
Even if she abandoned him for the sake of her parents, he didn’t blame her, he only felt heartache for her.
"Wanwan, I’m sorry--" He couldn’t help but murmur.
Su Wanxia frowned, then with a puzzled smile, said, "What are you talking about? What sorry?"
Mu Yingchen lifted his head, gazing steadily at her, "It’s me who didn’t protect you well--"
He had previously doubted her reasons for going abroad, but what he had never imagined was that it had been orchestrated by his mother.
This truth was something he found hard to accept. He didn’t understand why his mother, whom he respected and loved, would do this? Why would she go to great lengths to drive her away from him!
This reason, he was determined to find out!
"How can that be your fault? If it’s not a curse, it’s unavoidable fate," Su Wanxia said casually, gazing at him.
A deep sense of self-reproach flickered through Mu Yingchen’s heart--
"It won’t happen again." He gently kissed her forehead.
Su Wanxia, feeling somewhat shy, bowed her head and then looked up at him. Suddenly, she pulled his head down and, catching him off-guard, kissed his beautiful thin lips lightly, like a dragonfly skimming water.
"Payback--" she let go of him and forced out the words nonchalantly.
Mu Yingchen paused, then the corners of his mouth lifted and his eyes fixed on her, teasing, "Your payback seems insincere--"
He then slowly moved closer to Su Wanxia, and before she could react, he sealed her lips with his.
Mu Yingchen had been holding back for many days, and coupled with his current emotional state, gradually lost his reason, not knowing when he had already pinned Su Wanxia beneath him, his hands mischievously slipping into her clothes.
As soon as Su Wanxia touched Mu Yingchen, she would lose herself, falling into his gentleness without resistance, completely forgetting that it was daytime, and they were in a hospital.
Mu Yingchen, skilled as he was, had already unbuttoned her blouse entirely, and she suddenly felt a chill on her chest- before she could regain her senses, there came a sudden knock on the door from outside.
The two, caught up in their passion, suddenly snapped out of their haze--
Mu Yingchen came to his senses, grabbed the quilt in a swift motion, covering her while also shielding the expanse of spring- from view.
A look of frustration crossed his eyes, then he exhaled deeply, rising from the bed and straightened his clothes.
Su Wanxia’s face was so red she couldn’t bear to be seen. Burying her face in the quilt, leaving only the top of her head exposed, she cursed herself inwardly for her lack of self-control, always so defenseless against him.
Would he think she was frivolous?
As she was caught in her dilemma, Mu Yingchen suddenly spoke indifferently towards the direction of the door, "Come in!"
Hearing his words, Su Wanxia retracted her head further into the quilt and unconsciously wrapped herself tighter in it.
With a click, the door opened.
"Mr. Mu, lunch is ready--"
"Mmm, bring it in." After the two caregivers set down the dishes, they quickly retreated out.
Mu Yingchen looked at the person huddled in the covers and said with a light smile, "Get up and eat."
Su Wanxia was troubled; how could she get up in such a disheveled state? She needed to get dressed properly first!
"You--you turn around." She said, somewhat embarrassed.
How could she get up with him standing there? Her face was too thin-skinned, and it would embarrass her, right?
Mu Yingchen stood by the bed, not moving an inch, and said, "Do you need my help?"
Su Wanxia was instantly speechless. So, he wasn’t turning around, huh? Alright then! Bring it on!
And then---
Under his gaze, she fumbled under the covers.
Mu Yingchen arched his fine eyebrows playfully--
"Aren’t you tired?"
She huffed, gave him a look, and then sat up swiftly.
"Not tired!"
Mu Yingchen couldn’t help but chuckle, "Do you want to try it again?"
Again?
Su Wanxia’s eyes twitched. Was he crazy?
"I want to eat!" She eyed the sumptuous lunch nearby and said authoritatively.
"Alright, let’s eat, let’s eat." Mu Yingchen nodded helplessly.
In the afternoon, Mu Feng brought some documents for Mu Yingchen to review and sign, and for some reason, Kang Xiaolan had also come along.
That made Su Wanxia really happy, finally having someone to chat with--
"Wanxia, are you alright?" Kang Xiaolan, with her belly propped and hand on her back, stared at the bandage on her head with a face full of concern.
"I’m fine, Xiaolan. I’m almost recovered; I can leave the hospital in a few days," Su Wanxia said, patting her round belly.
"Really? Seeing the expression on Feng’s face when he talked to your husband on the phone, I was almost scared to death," Kang Xiaolan breathed a sigh of relief.
"Xiaolan, rest assured, I’m really fine," Su Wanxia comforted.
At that time, she had nearly been scared to death herself, always thinking she might disappear from this world without seeing anyone again.
But thankfully---everything was in the past now.
However, it was through this incident that she truly understood that when it was time to cherish something, she needed to grasp it tightly and not miss out foolishly, wasting so much precious time.
"Wanxia, I’m so glad you’re alright."
"Mmhmm, hehe, Xiaolan, you’ll be giving birth in another two months, right?" Su Wanxia asked, looking at her protruding belly in surprise.
Kang Xiaolan gently stroked her belly, and the radiance of motherhood immediately overflowed.
"Not so soon; it’s still three months away..."
"Three months? So, that would be next year, right?"
"Yeah."
Su Wanxia couldn’t help but widen her eyes. The belly was already big now; how much bigger would it get in three more months?
"Xiaolan, you’re not carrying twins, are you?"
Kang Xiaolan covered her mouth and laughed: "The chance for twins is gone..." Then she leaned close to Su Wanxia and whispered, "But, if you and Yingchen push hard, maybe you could have twins."
